Colorful memories
Monochromatic future
The faint red afterimage
Of a framed photo
And the blank wall
It hangs from
Precious memories and
The thoughts they are engraved on
It's natural to be afraid to lose them
But the wall is white
And the photo is already full
Of the colors of the past
Halted time is the same
As a broken clock
Let go of the hour hand
And let it turn once more
What is gained in exchange
May not always be what is desired
But the childish dream
Of reaching something unreachable
You can make it. You can make it.
Even if the infinte blue sky
Stretches far out of reach overhead.
- Title: Monochromatic Colors
- Artist: Vyear
- Description: Things like "I never noticed how much I took for granted," or "That mistake was so obvious!" are easy to say once we look back. Once we look back on our lives, there's always something we miss, or want to change. And sometimes, when we look forwards, the future seems to bleak or frightening. The past is always colorful but the future isn't necessarily. The important thing is the continue onwards while remembering the past, and bringing that color into the monochromatic future.

- Cool, but not clearly holiday oriented, which it kinda what this contest is about.
