Tommy Oliver was brainwashed by Rita Repulsa as the evil Green Ranger to oppose the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and commanded the Dragon Zord. After an intense five-part series, Tommy was freed from her mind control and joined the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as the sixth ranger. However, due to losing his green energy, he would become the White Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger instead.
