• Artist Info: Okay, let's do this. 50 random things about me. Ready go!

1. My name is Dylan.
2. I am 16 years old.
3. My birthday is September 6.
4. I live in Minnesota.
5. I'm an anime nerd, but not as much as I used to be. You're probably a bigger anime nerd than I am.
6. I'm a nerd. I'm not like, a total loser who doesn't have any friends and is totally awkward at school and stuff. I have friends. And I'm capable of interacting with other people without embarrassing myself. But I'm into nerdy things like anime and video games and computers and stuff.
7. I don't like being social. I talk to people in school and stuff but I like staying home and relaxing by myself. I'm an introvert.
8. I sometimes sit in silence for hours thinking about stuff. It's not like I'm a deep, complicated person, it's more like I'm just too lazy to get up.
9. I like video games. Mostly Nintendo. PM me if you wanna play online with me. I have most of the popular online Nintendo games for DS and Wii.
10. My favorite video game is Animal Crossing: Wild World. I also like Super Mario Galaxy and the Resident Evil series.
11. As far as electronics, I currently have a Wii, DS, DS Lite, NES, SNES, N64, Gameboy Pocket, iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle, Krazer or KRZR or whatever it's called, and an iPhone.
12. My favorite cartoon is Avatar: the Last Airbender. I also like Spongebob, Mighty B, Family Guy, South Park, Foster's Home, and Flapjack.
13. My favorite live action TV show is Pushing Daisies. I also like Lost, Monk, Psych, The 4400, The Office, and Oobi.
14. My favorite movie is tied between Ratatouille, WALL-E, and Pan's Labyrinth. I also like Aladdin, The Village, Signs, Juno, Hard Candy, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, National Treasure, Kill Bill, Finding Nemo, and everything Miyazaki's done.
15. I have very high standards and morals for myself. I don't do drugs, drink, swear, and I'm not having sex until I'm married. I don't care what other people do, though. I used to care, but then I grew up and realized it's not my place to say what someone else should or shouldn't do.
16. I have a little half-brother, a little half-sister, an older brother, a mom, a dad, a step-mom, a step-dad, a grandma, a grandpa, a step-grandma, a step-step-grandpa, a grandma and grandpa through adoption (I'm not sure what the technical terms for them are), and a bunch of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
17. I don't like any specific genre of music. There are songs that I like and there are songs that I don't like. My favorite song changes all the time because I always put my favorite song on repeat and then like an hour later I hate it.
18. I'm a night owl. I can easily stay up to the next day and I have a hard time falling asleep. Sometimes I lie awake in bed for a few hours before I fall asleep. Again, I'm not trying to sound all deep and sophisticated, I just really can't fall asleep.
19. I'm Christian, but not really. Thanks to the wonders of indoctrination, I'm too scared to tell anyone I'm not Christian. I do believe in god, though. But it's not necessarily the Christian god.
20. I'm an artist. My favorite mediums are pencil, prismacolor markers and my computer (is that a medium?). I love trying new mediums though, and I usually get the hang of them pretty quickly. I've done chalk drawings, sand sculptures, paintings, and papercraft, among other things. See my art to the right for examples. I have a few of my chalk drawings up there, I think.
21. My greatest talent/gift/skill/whatever is creativity, not artistic...ness. I like creating something cool out of few materials. Especially in school. I often come home carrying weird sculptures I made out of my notebook paper in math class. When I can't think of anything to make, I make a card for one of my lady-friends. Sometimes I wish I had all those cards back. They're my babies.
22. Humans consistently disappoint me. I guess my standards are too high.
23. I usually don't know what day of the week it is. I'm very clueless.
24. I'm smart and I get good grades, but I don't have any "street smarts". Probably because I'm always at home.
25. I hate school. I'm already ready to do any job I'm ever gonna get, so why do I have to keep learning?
26. My childhood consists of me playing hide and go seek outside with my neighbor, then coming inside and playing N64 with my neighbor, then staying up late having movie-night with my neighbor. I still try to live in that childhood, but school makes it so difficult. I'd give the world to go back to those simpler times.
27. I have friends but I'm not very close to any of them. Probably because of that "People disappoint me" thing (see number 22).
28. I'm not positive, but I think if you made a pie chart of how much time I've spent doing different things in my life, "deep thought" would be the biggest piece of pie. Usually my deep thinking is about religion, morals, why people do what they do, the things that I should do but am too scared to do, what happens after you die, where everything came from, and more stuff like that. I'm probably not coming up with anything new. I mean, all my deep thinking has probably already been thought, written up, and published. But I can't help drifting off into thought. I think I might have ADD. But then again, I couldn't have ADD - how could I sit and think for hours if I had ADD?
29. My favorite Crayola crayon color is scarlet. Not just because of the color, but also because it's a very smooth crayon. Some colors are smother than others and don't leave that crayon-grain pattern, and scarlet is one of those.
30. My favorite color is red. My favorite two colors are lime green and purple. Gray and yellow are also really nice together. My favorite three colors are red, black, and white.
31. I can kinda do animation. I'm learning Flash. But I can definitely do frame-by-frame animation. I'm still working on motion tweens though.
32. My favorite numbers are multiples of 3 up to 12, excluding 3.
33. I'm very skinny. It's probably genetic, because my parents were both very skinny when they were young, and all my siblings are skinny. But quite frankly, I just hate meat.
34. My favorite food is popcorn. But it depends what mood I'm in. Obviously, there are times when I'd rather have a glass of lemonade than popcorn. For example, when I'm thirsty.
35. I'm very submissive and I tend to do whatever people ask of me. Probably why I've been pushed around at school for as long as I can remember. I never complain. That probably doesn't help.
36. I care very much what other people think of me. Don't let anyone tell you "It doesn't matter what other people think of you", because it does. Whoever promotes that crap needs to read a frikkin psychology book.
37. I don't understand why we have to keep everything sexual a secret. Think how much less lying there'd be in the world if everyone was comfortable discussing sex, porn, masturbation, sexual orientation, etc. Sometimes I think I'd like to raise my kids to be totally open with stuff like that, but I'm always worried they'll talk to their teachers about sex and masturbation and I'll go to jail. But at least my kids wouldn't have to lie to me for no reason.
38. I hate those speeches at school and church where some random guy who doesn't know any of us tells us why we shouldn't do drugs or have sex. He doesn't know me or the way I was raised, so how is it his place to tell me what I should and shouldn't do?
39. Okay, here are my religious beliefs. I'm pretty sure I explained all this to Jeffrey (hijaber) but no one else, I think. Okay... if I enter a 2nd grade classroom and ask them a 5th grade level question, like "What is the square root of 25?", what would happen? Well, most kids would probably answer the question wrong, maybe one or two would happen to get it right, just by chance, and there'd probably be a few kids who don't even attempt to answer the question. If I were to enter a 5th grade classroom and ask them the same question, I'd get the same answer from everyone: The square root of 25 is 5. Why? Because that question is on their level. So now let's look at the world. We've got many many big questions to answer, such as "Is there a god?", "What is god like/What does he expect from us?", "Where did we come from?", and "What happens after we die?". And if you look around, it seems like everyone's come up with a different answer. Even within the same religion, people have very different beliefs. And most people think they're right and everyone else is wrong. So why did we all come up with different answers? Because we're all 2nd graders trying to answer a 5th grade question. Humans might be the smartest animals on the planet, but we're no where near smart enough to answer those big questions. Personally, I think there is a god. Matter can't be created or destroyed, and yet everything is here, so something or someone had to break the rules, or in other words, something "supernatural" occured. And that's why I think there's a god. I don't know anything about that "god" - it could be 100 gods, it could be a flying elephant, it could be a sparkly cloud, it could have an account on Gaia, it could've died a long time ago. I have no idea. I don't communicate with this "god" so how could I know? I think it's possible that other people really do communicate with god, but I also think it's possible that there's something in the human brain that makes us think we're communicating with god. Again how would I know? If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's just something in their brains. But again, I'm not sure. The only thing I've decided for sure is that something supernatural created all this. That's just simple logic. Sorry I haven't answered any of the other big questions yet, but if you really want someone's opinion on those, try the Torah. I'm not gonna act like I know.
40. I don't play any sports. I did karate when I was like 6. Is that a sport? Then I did gymnastics for like 2 years. Sports don't really interest me.
41. I think the things that are required to be "cool" in today's schools are pretty random. You have to be athletic. You have to be funny. You can't like what everyone else likes. For example, your music has to be totally obscure. Being bad seems to help. You definitely don't want to be, like, a really really good person. Being attractive helps, and if you say it doesn't, you're lying to yourself. Intelligence doesn't really matter. So who picked all those traits? They seem pretty random to me. Shouldn't intelligence be more important than athletic ability? What I find really funny is that if you want to impress adults, the requirements are like exactly the opposite. Intelligence is most important, athletic ability and attractiveness don't really matter. And the good-er, the better. I'm not saying either set of requirements is better. I think they're both stupid.
42. I have an account on Gaia (duh), Youtube, Neopets, Webkinz, Facebook, Gmail, AIM, and may more that I can't think of.
43. I text a lot.
44. Isn't the internet, like, way safer than real life? That's just one of my many random thoughts.
45. I often come up with inventions unintentionally. I'm starting to wish I wrote them all down.
46. When I grow up I want to do something related to art or animation, or be a teacher.
47. I like to play pretend. Kids in my grade are too old to play pretend now, so I play with my little brother and sister.
48. I go through phases, like, as far as what video games I'm into. Like, I'll play the Sims for like a month, then all of a sudden. I'll completely lose interest in that game and start playing something else, like Gaia.
49. My favorite sound is in the old Curious George animations (stories directly adapted from the books, not the new movie) when Curious George smokes a pipe, and the man in the yellow hat takes it from him and drops it in the garbage pail and it goes "blunp". That's how I spell that sound. Curious George was my "security item" when I was little, by the way. He still sleeps in my bed, along with all my other stuffed animals.
50. I keep my finger nails rather long. I hate having short fingernails. It feels weird when I touch things when my fingernails are short. It's so tender under there.

Hooray! We did it! Oh? You say you want to know even MORE about me because I'm super interesting? Honestly, I didn't even expect you to read the first 50, but okay! I'm continuing this list in my journal, starting with number 51. Click here to go to my journal and keep learning about me!
