• Chapter Two

    Again…Part One

The alarm went off twice. I slammed my hand on it before it did the third time. I sat up in bed. I stretched my arms and legs before I got up and headed to the washroom to do my morning duties. I brushed my teeth, combed my hair and wore a blue dress with black tights. What happened yesterday was still a shock for me. Whenever I thought about it, I figured it was all just a horrible nightmare but after I saw the injured people at the clinic yesterday I knew that this is no dream. This is reality and I’m going to have to live through it. I turned to the wall clock and gasped. It read 4:00 A.M in the morning.

“Stupid alarm” I mumbled and rolled my eyes. I accidently set the alarm earlier. I walked out of the dorm and looked around. No one was around. That figured, which nutcase would wake up at this hour? Well apparently me.

I decided to go to the schools main attraction of all. The cherry blossom garden. I headed towards the garden, humming to myself on the way. To my surprise, the demon was there. But of course, he wasn’t a demon right now. He looked like a normal boy. I mean perfectly normal. Normal perfect hair, normal perfect eyes and…Oh My God! Am I drooling? I shook my head, getting all of my stupid thoughts out of my head. He was sitting on the bench. I took a deep breath and walked towards him.

“I still cant believe what happened yesterday”

“Yeah, sorry…about your arm I mean…” he mumbled and turned to me. “It’s not big deal, I mean it wasn’t done intentionally right?” I said and smiled at him. He nodded and sighed.

    “I’m a full demon”

“I’m half” I replied, we stared at each other for a long moment then turned away. “ I figured that you were a full demon” I said softly. Well of course I figured, what other creature could literally rip apart all of those nurses like that?

    “Demon’s are monsters…”

I turned to him, I couldn’t help but be startled. Demons are monsters? Well as much as I hate to admit it, he is telling the truth. Demons are monsters and when people find out, they’re just horrified and frightened about demons, that sadly includes me in that picture.

“I know” I said and sighed. “Let’s go have some breakfast” he suggested. “At four??? c’mon…I’m barely even awake…” I said and rubbed my eyes. “Oh by the way, I’m Drake, Drake Maxwell” he said. “I’m Anna Rivers, pleasure to meet you” I said and yawned. Is it me or am I sleepy? Well it doesn’t take a genius to find out why, I woke up really early and the remaining nurses who actually survived and treated me said that I shouldn’t push it.

“What’s for breakfast?” I said and stretched.

He frowned and said “I thought you said you were barely awake”

“I guess I changed my mind” I said. “C’mon! Lets go” I said energetically and literally dragged him to the cafeteria. To my surprise, Vivian was sitting at one of the tables and was munching on a burger.

“Hey Viv!” I cried and ran towards her. Drake followed behind me quietly. “Umm…Anna, why is he here?” Vivian asked turning to me. I could see that she could still remember about what happened yesterday and she was scared that it might happen again but then again, I really don’t blame her. Drake growled at her and they had a staring competition for a few minutes then he walked off.

“Your such an a** Viv” I said and sat down next to her. “What the hell did I do?! You have totally lost it Ann, together with a guy who nearly killed you yesterday…your crazy” she said and took another bite on her burger and turned to me. “It wasn’t intentional and he only scratched my arm” I argued, defending him. He didn’t do it on purpose and besides why is Vivian getting all protective? Or maybe, i'm at fault.

“Whatever Ann…” Vivian mumbled and rolled her eyes and finished her burger. “Not hungry?”

“Nope…I’m apparently very full” I said and rubbed my stomach and sighed. “Ann, you looked exhausted! You should’ve stayed in the hospital maybe then you would–“

“I’m fine” I said, cutting off her sentence. The last thing I want now is to have Vivian worry about me as much as I would love to agree with her, I was exhausted and I wanted to drop in bed and go to sleep right away.

“Hello Viv” said a boy, walking towards our table. “Why hello Riku, How are you this morning?” said Vivian smiling at him.

“I’m pretty good, who’s the friend?” he said, giving a quick glance at me before he turned to Vivian. “Oh yes! This is Riku Ann, my cousin” she said smiling at the both of us. “Hi, I’m Riku” he said and flashed a smile at me. “I’m Anna, Anna Rivers” I said and returned the smile. “I’m a Neko” he said, looking at me. “You must be a demon”

“Half” I replied, is gossip going around that I got attacked by a demon when I’m one? “Interesting” he said and flashed another smile at me.

“Look guys, I think I’ll go to bed” I said, getting up from my seat.

“But Ann…you just woke…up…” Vivian said and frowned. I also frowned a her, first she says ‘Go and get some rest Ann’ and now she wants me to not go to sleep? Okay Viv, your brain needs some checking ASAP.

“Yeah…but rest is good” I said and gave her a thumbs up. “Good Night Ann or should I say good morning” he said and laughed at his own joke but me and Vivian remained silent and stared at him.

“That was not funny” I said. “Mind him Anna, you’ll get used to it” Vivian mumbled, getting up from her seat and heading off. Riku waved to me before he headed off as well. It was a Sunday so there weren’t any studies today. I went to my dorm, I unlocked it and stepped inside. I dropped on my bed and fell into a deep sleep. But from the bottom of my heart, I wished I never slept and I also wished that I would knew would happen…

Vivian also went upstairs, thinking she should check on me when I was sleeping. Vivian was a good person, she just can be a little annoying sometimes about things and she is very forgetful. But as soon as she reached the dorms, she heard a scraping sound coming from Dorm 04. At first, Vivian thought she was imagining things but then she heard the sound again. Vivian eyed the door closely. She took a deep breath and headed towards the dorm slowly, taking each step cautiously. When she drew closer she heard growling noises coming from the door. It cant be a neko right? I hope its not what I think it is she thought. The thought of that even happening made her shudder. She walked closer until she was at the front of the door and then before she could turn the knob, it flew open. Vivian’s hands flew to her mouth, her eyes widened. She couldn’t believe what she saw and she couldn’t believe it is happening again.

    “No Drake!”
