• It happened about thirteen years ago. I could never forget that day. Or even that moment.
It was April 10 1995, I was sixteen and had a hobby for gardening. I was outside pruning my flowers while my brother was inside doing the dishes. I was almost done watering my prized yellow tulips when I saw her.
She was running down the street, tears streaming down her face. But the strangest part of her was how she was wearing a big white ball gown. It was so surreal watching her, it was like she was an angel, come to free me from my chores.
"Are you alright?" I yelled to her. She ran over to stand in front of me. When I saw her up close, it was like getting a slap in the face. She was by far the best looking girl I have ever seen.
"I.... I..... help." Then she fainted.
"Jason! Jason! Help!" I screamed for my brother. My big annoying brother walks out of the house. He looks at me, then at the beautiful girl in my arms. His eyes widen and his jaw drops. He walks over to me and bends down to look at her.
"What happened to her?" He asks me.
    "She fainted."
    "Let's bring her inside."
We place her on the couch then gently tap her face to get her awake.
She awakens then looks at us. "Who are you? What am I doing here?" She asks us terrified.
"You came running up to me. You said 'help' then fainted." I explain to her.
"Oh. Oh please, you have to help me!!" She cries out. She jumps up and looks around, searching for something with her eyes.
"Why do you need help?" Jason takes hold of the frightened girl and sits her down on the couch next to him.
    "He's coming for me!!"
    "Who's coming for you?"
    "Jareth"
"Who's Jareth? Why are you so scared of him?" I ask her concerned.
"He's going to take me back. Back to the Kingdom!" She cries.
Suddenly there's a loud clap of thunder then the power goes out.
"He's coming! He's here!!" The girl jumps up and tries to run out of the room. Jason grabs her and tries to calm her.
"It's alright, the power just went out." he soothes.
"No! It always happens this way!"
Something starts scratching on the screen door and we all jump.
"It's him! We have to get out of here!" She slams against the wall and starts crying. Jason walks slowly to the door and pulls the curtain aside.
"It's just an owl." He says.
    "NO!!!" The girl screams.
Suddenly the owl breaks the glass and comes flying in. While this is all happening, I get a strange sense that i've seen this before, but where? How?
Then right in front of us all, the owl turns into a man. The man has big blonde hair, scary eyes, and is wearing a big black flowing cape. Anyone that has seen him would have thought he was creepy. I was instantly attracted to him.
He stood very still, with hands on his hips. He glared at Jason and I. Then turned his powerful gaze on the girl.
"I told you to forget about them Sarah. You said you would forget. What's said is said. You can not change your mind." His voice was like chocolate, so smooth you could die.
The girl, Sarah, stood up and got ready to challenge the man.
"You said you would be my slave! You said you would return Toby to my parents! I've seen him, I've seen him, YOU DID TURN HIM INTO A GOBLIN!!" At that note, I realized something. They had the same names, the owl, Toby, the dress, the things they were discussing. It was just like LABYRINTH! Except it wasn't David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. These two were even better looking. But, the movie ended differently. Sarah didn't go with Jareth, The Goblin King. She said those last six words and it all went away.
"Sarah, don't you remember?" I ask her.
They both turn to stare at me. "What?" Sarah asks.
"He has no power over you."
