• When she looks at her hand, she sees... what?
Nails cut too short, fleshy fingertips exposed. And on the nails is chipped black nail polish from several weeks before, fading dots of what once was. A white scar from when she was seven, and her finger was ensnared in the evil grasp of a water slide. A single ring, like a vine, with a small cross hanging off of it on an even smaller chain. It could mean her religion, or she could just think it's pretty. A pink Hello Kitty band-aid concealing the scratch that her cat gave her. And the edges of a blue and green bracelet, only two like it in the entire world, a reminder of what is soon to pass.
    That is what she sees.
