• Chapter One: Dreams

Kneeling down next to me he ever so slowly brought a hand up to my cheek. He gently pulled me towards him and I followed suit, drowning in his deep blue pools. We gazed into each others' eyes as he pulled me closer still, till our noses were almost touching. My cheek was tingling where he was touching me, and it felt like I had an electric current running through my body, I was itching to touch his hand or arm, but I held back, waiting for the green light. He was so gorgeous, not just gorgeous, it didn't even come close. His eyes were a dark blue, but not navy, more like a royal blue, and unusual colour for eyes, and they shone like the moon on a cloudless night. His hair was auburny-brown, and seemed to glow in the light, dazzling me all the more. His lips were a deep luscious pink, and as slowly tilted his head, these came into contact with mine. A bolt of lightening ran down my spine, his lips were so soft, they seemed to fit perfectly in place with mine, like two pieces of a puzzle.
His hand moved to the back of my neck and he held me in place, gently parting my lips with his tongue. After a while, he pulled back and I gasped, realising I had forgotten to breathe. I looked back up at his face, only a few inches from mine, and he said
“I love you Maela, but you must promise me something.”
I was drowning again, so all I could do was nod. Before he could speak again however, there was a loud bang which made us both jump. I looked around, but couldn't identify where it had come from. I looked back at him and saw he was staring at me. I smiled and he smiled back, and then began to speak again, only, what I heard, didn't match with how his lips were moving.
“You must give Kyle all your pocket money” is what I heard. It kept repeating over and over, and then the boy began to fade. I tried to grasp his hand to ask what he was saying, but it passed right through mine. He continued to mouth at me whilst he was fading, when suddenly I realised I was lying in bed, and the chanting hadn't stopped.
My eyes flew open and I sat up, then I realised my brother was standing next to my bed.
“What are you doing?” I hissed.
“Messing with your head!” he replied and began to walk from the room.
”Freak!” I yelled, chucking a pillow at him. It missed him by a centimetre, and I heard him laughing to himself on the landing. I groaned and lay back down on my bed, glancing up at the clock. It was 7:28. Two minutes before my alarm was due to go off. I decided to jump the gun, and so I got out of bed and dragged my feet to the bathroom. I splashed my face with cold water to wake myself up then trudged downstairs for breakfast. Kyle was already eating, but mum wasn't down yet.
I grabbed a bowl and still half asleep gulped down some cereal. On my way back to my room, I knocked on mum's door to tell her what time it was, dad would have left when we were asleep, but mum didn't have to leave until 8. I heard a curse and heard her get up and start moving around. Satisfied, I went back to my room and put on some tight fitting jeans, a long sleeved polo neck and my Uggs.
Grabbing my bag and shoving my books inside, I quickly ran a comb through my hair, put my keys and phone in my pocket, yelled a goodbye to my mum, made sure Kyle had his books and lunch then I walked out of the door, Kyle trailing along behind me.
After dropping him at school, I walked down the road to get to my school, and as I had nothing to concentrate on, my mind drifted back to my dream.
It wasn't the first time I'd dreamt of the guy, and kissing wasn't the most we'd done either, but the dreams were becoming a lot more frequent these days. I've never felt as strongly for anyone as I have him.
I shook myself. He's the boy of your dreams, which is the problem. He's just in your dreams. He doesn't exist. There was plenty of good looking guys at school, any of which I could have if I wanted, but I was holding onto the hope that I would bump into someone like Dream Boy. I knew this was completely absurd, but I didn't know why I couldn't et go of the fantasy.
Sighing, I turned a corner and came into view of my school. I had been coming to this school since I was old enough to. The school went right from year 1 to year 11, and even had two years of 6th form college. The primary and secondary sections of the school were on different sites, which is why Kyle and I weren't in the same place, not that I minded.
Sighing again I walked in through the school gates and headed in the general direction of my locker.
