• -_What!?

-_”What!? What are you talking about!? You followed my scent?” I was beginning to think there was some sickness going around that affected men’s brains.
-_”I don’t know how you don’t know it, but we’re vampires. It’s the only explanation for your eyes. Vampire’s eyes are unnaturally green like yours and mine.” He stated.
-_”I don’t know wha-” I stopped, this wasn’t the first thing I’d heard on the subject.
-_”I’m not a vampire, not yet.” I said, my voice colored with realization.
-_”My dad’s a vampire, my mom’s human.” I said. “I didn’t believe him, I’m shocked I dropped everything and believed you so fast. I just-prove it.”
    -_”What?” He asked.
-_”I believe you, but I want you to prove it.” I replied.
-_So he did. He jumped onto the roof of the girls’ bathroom and then jumped twenty feet into the small lake at the center of the park. He didn’t come up for what seemed like hours, but it was only 10 minutes.

-_When I got home everyone was having dinner.
-_”Jessica, is that you?” My mom asked.
    -_”Yeah.” I replied.
-_”Want dinner?” She was beginning to get up.
-_”No, I’m not hungry. Please, stay seated.” I answered, slightly, very slightly, sarcastic.

-_At midnight I was still awake. I couldn’t sleep, and it wasn’t because I was scared, I was just confused. I sighed; there was no way I was going to get to sleep.
-_I got up to get some food out of the fridge. My dad was downstairs. I paused at the kitchen door, and then continued to the fridge. I pulled a cold piece of pizza out of the fridge and sat down across from my dad.
-_”So,” I started, after I swallowed my first bite. “What can I do to stop it?”
-_He knew what I was talking about.
