• After getting Shika his food I noticed he was looking at it confusedly. I sighed. "Now what?"
He pointed at it. "This is food?"
    "Duh..." I say cocking eyebrow.
"But... Don't you have cat food?" He asks looking hurt.
    I grimaced. "Cat food?"
    He nodded.
I blinked. "You eat cat food? Isn't that bad for humans to eat?"
"I'm human?" He asks looking shocked. He put the plate down on the floor next to him where he was sitting and felt over his ears. He sniffled and tears formed in his eyes... again. "I still have cat ears!" He sobbed.
    I sighed. "Geez..."
"I don't want to be a cat freak anymore, Gabriel! Can we switch?" He said pointing at me.
I shrugged. "I wish we could. I think having a cat ears and a tail would be really cool."
He sniffled and pouted his lips. "Really?"
I nodded and petted his head. "Sure. I mean, I have these annoying human ears, but you have cat ears. That's pretty cool." I say truthfully.
He smirked and whiped his nose with the back of his hand. "Oh... Th-thank you, Gabriel. I guess they're pretty cool, huh?"
I nodded again and smiled. "Yeah."
He smiled and his tail swayed.
"Are you going to eat or just smile till your cheeks exlode?" I ask sourly.
He jumped and looked down at his food. "Oh, yeah!" He said picking up the bowl of soup and staring at it in confusion.
"Don't you know how to use a bowl or how to drink soup?" I ask.
He nodded. "I know how to use a bowl... What do you think Master put our food in? But... I'm not sure if I should have this... It looks... like pee." He said grimacing at the yellow chicken broth soup.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Well, fine. If you don't want it then don't eat it. I'll have it." I growl reaching out to take the soup.
He hugged the bowl to his chest. "No. I want it... Just give me a second." He said looking down at the warm liquid.
I leaned back on my hands as I watched him slowly put the bowl to his lips and take a sip.
His tail sprung straight up and he licked his lips. "It's good!"
I smirked. "Well, gee, I wonder why."
"This is what normal humans eat?" He asked taking a big gulp of the soup.
I nodded. "We eat that kind of stuff everyday."
He nodded slowly, learning something from me again.
I chuckled. "Have you ever had a peice of candy before?"
    He blinked. "Candy...?"
My jaw dropped. "You don't know what candy is!?"
    He shook his head.
I grunted and stood up, walking over to the table next to my bed and picking up a tin I had gotten from my dad years ago, he said the candy would never go bad because it was so good. But, I doubted that it would never get gross after a long time, so I made sure I had at least half a peice everyday. I took out a peice and broke it in half to split with him. "Here." I say walking back over to him and handing the other peice to Shika. "Eat it after you finish the soup." I say sitting down in front of him.
He finished the soup quickly and licked his lips over and over again, as if the taste was going to stay on his lips forever.
I smirked as I realized how close he looked like a cat, even without looking at his cat ears and tail. "Go on, eat the candy." I say taking my peice and tossing it in my mouth.
He put it in his mouth and spat it out almost right away. He grimaced at me.
I glared at him. "Why did you spit it out?"
He stuck his tongue out. "It's sweet."
    "And?"
"I wasn't allowed to have sweets, Master said I didn't deserve them." He said looking down at the candy.
I sighed and held out my hand. "Then give it to me."
    "Why?"
"I'll eat it if you don't."
He shook his head and held the candy tightly in his hand. "No way."
    "Then eat it." I ordered.
He sighed and put it in his mouth. His face distorted and twisted as he rolled it around in his mouth.
I smiled. "You look like an old man."
He smiled and his tail swayed. "I do?"
I nodded and sucked on the candy.
He giggled. "You look goofy with your cheeks going in like that."
I laughed. "Be quiet, old man."
He laughed and his face distorted as he sucked on the candy again.
I grinned and leaned forward, trying to grab the bowl.
Shika leaned forward too, his face almost touching mine.
I shuttered as his face kept coming closer to me.
His lips touched mine softly, giving me a soft kiss.
    {Chuu~!}
I jumped and sprang back, dropping the bowl on the floor.
Shika blinked in confusion. "What's wrong?"
"What the hell was that!?" I shout.
He tilted his head. "A kiss."
"Why would you do that!?" I boom standing up and glaring at him.
He shrank back and his tail wrapped around him in fear. "I don't know... I thought you were trying to kiss me... So... I helped ya."
"You don't just kiss a guy! Especially if your a guy too! Idiot! And I wasn't trying to kiss you! I was trying to get the bowl!" I scream pointing at him.
Tears formed in his eyes and he burried his face in his legs. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you mad! I'm really sorry, Master!"
I was about to yell at him again, until I heard him call me Master. I stared at him in pity.
Was I treating him like his Master did? Did his master yell at him like I am? How often did Shika get yelled at?
I swallowed and felt my anger against him evaporate, being replaced with pity. "Shika... I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry. I'm sorry."
He shook his head. "No your not. You hate me."
I bent down and reached out to pet him. "No, I am sorry, Shika. I shouldn't have yelled. I should have just told you that it's not okay to kiss someone like that." I say calmly and petting his hair softly.
He sniffled and looked at me through his long hair. "Really? I'm sorry I kissed you. I won't do it again... unless you want me to..." He said sniffling again.
I cocked an eyebrow. "I don't know about that, but please don't ever call me Master again, okay?" I say smirking.
He nodded. "So... You don't hate me?"
I shook my head and petted his hair. "No."
He smriked and whiped his nose. "Okay... Good."
I smiled and noticed my candy was small enough to chew. I bite into it and chomped it up.
Shika did the same thing, his face distorted and he looked like an old man again.
    I laughed.

    {A month later}
School was over. Thank god. It was summer Vacation and I had all the time I needed to teach Shika how to read and do math.
I sighed. "Again, Shika. What is four plus two?"
    He hesitated. "Six."
I nodded. "What's six plus two?"
    He smiled. "Eight!"
I smirked. "Very good. What's eight plus two?"
    "Ten!"
    "Ten plus two?"
    "Twelve!" He cheered.
I grinned. "Awesome. What's twelve plus two?"
    He hesitated again. "Uhm... Fourteen?"
I nodded and petted his head. "Very good."
Shika had gotten very comfortable living with me. He had memorized my moms work schedual so he would have never gotten caught by her while I was at school. But now that school was over he didn't have to worry as much.
Rains clouds were hovering over the whole state and it threatened to rain.
He yawned and stretched. "Can we take a break for now? I'm tired."
    I nodded. "Sure."
He smiled. "Yay! Gabriel is a good teacher!" He said stretching again.
    I smiled. "Thank you."
He stood up and looked around. "What time is it?"
    "Around lunch time."
He gasped. "Can we have something to eat?"
I nodded and stood up. "Sure. What do you want to have?"
    "Chicken soup!" He shreiked excitedly.
I smiled and walked down stairs to the kitchen with him.
He watched me as I poured the chicken soup in a pan and turned on the oven.
I sighed and looked at him. "What are you staring at me for?"
    He smiled. "Nothing."
I cocked an eyebrow and sighed. "Sure..."
"When can I start playing outside?" He asked as his tail curled.
I shrugged. "I don't know. When do you want to start playing outside?"
    He grinned with excitement. "Today!"
I nodded. "Sure. I'll take you to the park, if you promise not to go running off."
He jumped up for joy. "Yes, yes! Shika won't run off! I promise!"
    I smiled. "Good..."
