• The dreams just kept getting more and more vivid, it was like reality and dreams were being combined. I tossed and turned in the seat on the New York Subway leading to Hoboken, New Jersey, trying to escape the grasp of the girl in my dreams. Like television shows, the bream was blurred to a certain extent , but not far enough to keep the girls face un-noticeable. Every time I slowly turned my head in my dream and caught a glimpse of the girl I'd jump in my seat. (Startling the elderly women to my left.) The blur in the dream began to clear and the scenery began to change. Then, I noticed what was coming into place. The dreary day I had long forgotten, my father's funeral.

                    My body froze in front of the coffin that was slowly being lowered into the soil beneath the grass. An aroma filled my nostrils, and a memory was triggered, the sound of a sobbing girl came from behind me and, (In Slow-Motion) I turned my attention to the woman. My mother. I stumbled back, and began to sob in the oh-too-realistic dream. The woman placed a bouquet of purple roses on the nice carved wooden coffin and keeled down next to it. I could hear the prayer she was mumbling faintly, but the last few words threw me off.

                    "Why won't you love me!?" Hissed the woman at the side of the coffin. She turned her attention to me, and in horror I stumbled onto my butt and crawled backwards. The face on my mother was almost as bad as Medusa. The blond hair knotted and oily, her teeth; some rotten and some wooden, the odor given off; foul as death.

                    The purple roses on the grave withered, and the lady at the coffin was now racing towards me with her face twisted up. The lady was chanting words, and punching at the air, and out of terror I shook myself away. I tall, lean body was covered in sweat, and there on the palm of my hand was a marking. Four scratches running straight down my palm to my wrist, the markings hurt but at the same time felt warm and caring. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and stood from my seat to exit at the next stop. When the subway doors pushed open people flooded out, but there in the middle of the crowd stand the girl in my dream. I felt the warmth on my wrist and my mind started to ache. I suddenly began to forget everything, but the only thing I wanted to do is run to the girl, arms open wide, and embrace her. Before all my sanity was gone, I could hear myself mumble my last few words;

                    "Lead me not into Temptation."
