• I took a quick shower before going back to my cell. Zill stayed close to me constantly. He only leftme when I was in the shower. I sighed when the concrete door closed behind us. "Akidana, you are causing more problems than you know." Zill whispered, "You musn't repeated this to anyone, but I think I love you..."
I blinked, hoping I had heard him correctly. I had been feeling strange around him recently. It was almost like feeling hope, except much, muh stronger. "I think I love you too..." I breathed, my heart pounding furitavely in my chest as Zill pulled me into his arms.
"My mother won't be pleased, you know," He whispered, pulling me closer into his pwerful arms, "She wanted my human emotions erased a long time ago..."
I snuggled into his chest, comfortable in his cold embrace. "She sends me to a psychiatrist when she thinks I'm getting soft," He chuckled.
didn' speak as I rested against him. His cool body didn'trock me like others did. "If She finds ou about you, she'd surely have you sent o the farms and me reprogrammed," He whispered, "That's if Zeek doesn't get to you first..."
I shivered as Zeek's face raced through my mind. I could feel Zill's growl as his arms wrapped tighter around me. "He shall not have you," He growled through his clenched teeth.
I rested my head on his shoulder. "I didn' mean what I said earlier..." I whispered, "It's just so... complicated..."
He chuckled slighty, making my heart leap into my throat. He paused, listening to my rebellious heart, "You really do love me, don't you?"
He twisted to look at my face. I smiled abck at him before he disentangled himself from me. I arched an eyebrow, not wanting him to move. "I want to try something," He said, a slight smile on his pefect lips.
He leaned in close to me, his face centimeters from mine. "Stay very still," He whispered, his breath washing over me.
I froze as his words faded. A chuckle slid from his teeth befor his lips pressed to mine. My eyes widened t his kiss as he pulled away. "Oh..." I breathed, my head swimming.
"You okay?" he asked, fighting laughter.
"Yeah." I breathed, still slightly dazed from my direct shot of him.
I licked my lips as I fell back into his arms. He pressed hs lips to the side of my face as he wrapped his arms around me. I shivered sightly with pleasure. 'He loves me.' I thought still in my daze.
"NO!!!" Zill roard, suddenly on his feet and me on the ground.
Zeek's garnet eyes stared back at us from the small box in the door. "Oh, brother, why did you hae to do this again?" He simpered, locking the door.
Zill roared before throwing himself against it, but Zeek had braced the door with his body. "The others are furious." he sneered, seconds before Shay arrived.
She galred at me. I screamd as my world went black. "DAMN IT SHAY!!!" Zill bellowed, grabbing my wrist, "GIVE HER SIGHT BACK!!!"
He pulled me into his arms, is entire body vibrating with his tremors. "I can't see!" I moaned into him.
He didn't answer as the cell door squeeled open. A pair of icy hands ripped me from Zill as he snarled loud enogh to hurt my ears. The four siblings yelped as the castle trembled. I could hear the rocks falling loose from the ceiling and the outrage of the three as Zill threw himself over me. His body protected me from the falling debris, shaking and twitching when it hit him. When it stopped, I could feel the air being whipping around me, turning my hair into a fine nest of tangles. "Where are we going?" I whispered.
Zill didn't answer. I remained silent as he ran. I coud tell when we were outside by the warmth of the sun on my skin. It was comforting to know my other senses weren' affected by Shay's power. I couldn't tell how long w had been running when Zill stopped. I knew because the air calmed around us. I could hear the soft trickle of water along with my breathing. "Where are we?" I asked.
    "Hidden." was his infuriating answer.
We sat in silence for a while. I heard a snap, soon followed by the scent and sound of burning wood. I didn't know he had left. I held my arms ut for him, thrilled when he pulled me into his grip. "I love you..." I whispered.
He chuckled slightly. I could feel his breath onmy face, seconds before his perfect lips pressed to mine. It was jut as lovely as before. My heart thundered in my chest as he pulled away. I didn't want him to go. I needed him right now. Without my sight, I'm weak. I gasped as a violet light flared. "What's wrong?" Zill demanded.
I leaned away from his cold chest as the violet light pulsed quicker and quicker. I placed on my hand on Zill's chest, ignoring his arely audible moan, to feel his heartbeat. It was sluggish, but beating faster; perfect tempo with the violet light. "I can see you!" I breathed, "I can see your light!"
I looked up seeing darkness as I tried to find his face. "What are you talking about?" he demanded.
"Is something on the ceiling?" I asked, looking for the light of a living thing.
I smirked when I found the grey light of a bat. "Yeah, there's a bat." He said slowly.
"It's sleeping, isn't it?" I grinned, sensing the creature's heartbeat.
"How do you know?" He demanded.
"I can see they're lights!" I said happily.
He chuckled as he pulled me into his arms once more. I didn't resist as a question sprang to mind. "What's your mother like?"
He jerked back slightly, "Why do yo uask?"
"I've heard stories, but I don't eve know her name." I said slowly, "She never goes out in public, she never even leaves where ever she is in the castle..."
"I can't tel you her name until we regain he favor or end her reign of terror." His words were measured, he was hiding something.
"What are you hiding?" I pressed.
    "Nothing." He retorted calmly.
I rolled my eyes as I tried to stand up. His arms didn't let me move. Zill got t his feet to move me closer to the small fire. "We have to move tomorrow morning." Zill said softly, hi lips moving against my neck.
I shivered against his cool skin, "Why?" I whispered.
"He'll find us if we stay in one place for too long." Zill's hands wrapped around mine.
I didn't respond as I waved our hands around in the air. I jumped when Zill's hand stiffened, tightening his grip on mine. "Please stop." He growled, tension thick in his voice.
I opened my fingers, not moving my arm. Zill still waved our hands back and forth. I gasped when I realized I was controlling him. I withdrew my light from him, leaving his arm limp for a split second. He shook his head slightly before pressing his lips to mine. "Get some sleep." He smiled before raising a strand of my hair to his nose.
A soft sigh left him as I snuggled against Zill's cold body. A soft tune soon filled my ears. It was one of the Ancient Tunes that I didn't recognize. "What tune is that?" I asked.
    "Feru Jaca." He smiled.
"It's pretty." I breathed as he sang the wods softly.
They washed over me, lulling me to the dark void we call dreams. A shiver ran through my body as memories danced behind my eyelids.
