• Mother, I'm growing in a world telling me I'll never be alone, but here I sit, happily isolated and my father, my government, telling me to fight for what's right, but my hands are still tied behind my back; I'm rendered speechless, no power to change this evil: consumerism. We're all taught to buy buy buy , don't worry, don't cry. The way it is, the way it runs, turn the world with monetary funds, but I've got this hope in my heart to see a smile on your face; to change the negativity in your life, I'll make you feel alright, but how can I do that when you're all wrapped up in your security blanket of always having what you want, so long as you've got the money to get it. I'm expected to be happy when I'm working for my pleasure under a corporation and they're taking pleasure in they money they earn while shoving garbage down our throats: artificial colors and flavors in everything I own.
Mother, I'm growing in a world that says I'm free, the choice is mine: good or evil, I decide. But they've got a knife in my back, and a camera at my face. Momma, I'm so afraid to make a decision to change what's wrong and find the right, make myself happy or give up the fight. Let the people be the people or let them do it on their own, but the only thing I've known is the people who try to change this monetary system keep disappearing, but they're telling me I'm free. The choice is mine: good or evil, I decide; but they've got a knife in my back and a camera at my face. So when I choose evil to save my own life and stay standing by your side, I'll just continue to buy.
