More than the creatures that fill up God’s earth,
More than the grains of sand on the ground,
More than all the children, howling at birth,
Nothing can compare to the love I found.
Her beauty, so divine, something matchless indeed,
Even the angels admired her, full of envy.
God’s golden creation, she was of his need,
So one year to this day, he took her from me.
Though the grief of losing her,
Worse than 1,000 gunshots to the head,
She’ll love me forever; of this I’m sure.
And I, in return, shall love her till I’m dead.
A promise, she made me, as she lied close to death,
“I’ll wait for you my dear, till we reunite above.”
And I, in response, spoke quietly, short of breath,
“As will I, I await the day, my love.”
Child to mother, husband to wife,
No soul on this earth will ever love like I,
Yet I’d rather be alone for the rest of my life,
Then never to have felt that feeling, when I looked in her eyes.
