• My heart is broken
    like a shattered window
    fragments lie across the floor
    Waiting for and wanting removal

when I lay on my deathbed
    I see your face luminous
    above my own withered soul
but it fades like my body

When I look across the sea
I hear your voice call out
Not to me but to another
    and the tears cannot stop

    When I see other couples
    laughing and joking together
    I can't help but wonder
were we really meant to be?

    I suppose you have forgotten
    The beauty of ourselves
Left to wilt like a deadly rose
while you throw my poems away.
