xxxASTRONOMY ~ Axxx
- ■ Aria was on a route to Dreadful or even worse Troll for Astronomy from the very start. She was terrified of the dark and didn't see much use for the class either. She would have been perfectly happy to have sat in Gryffindor commons (or even get some extra beauty sleep) instead of bothering even showing up for her class. Of course Ron had to find out and insist on escorting her to Astronomy. She supposed as they got older and began to date it was romantic but you know what else is romantic if you ask Aria? A nice stroll and picnic on a lovely sunny Summer day. Still Ron helped her far enough she was surprised to get an Acceptable.
xxxCHARMS ~ Oxxx
- ■ The Avery bloodline was full of charmers if you asked Aria. There were the less favorable ones like her great grandparents but her grandmother was just an example of how it was not just looks and personality but the spellwork of charms that seemed to run in her blood. Aria took Charms very seriously as she always admired her late grandmother who led the Obliviator Office. She was a perfect example of the strength of charms and diplomacy - everything Aria wanted to be. She could have done this exam without a wand and still passed with an O and she did fairly badly in wandless.
xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ Axxx
- ■ Hexes, Dueling, and things that go bump in the night are all things Aria struggles with or fears. There is a reason the dark terrifies her. Still, Aria reasons that is a good reason to try in DADA despite not naturally shining in the class. She argues an A for her might as well be an O for most of her classmates. Honestly, she is right. Still, Aria worked hard and got what was outstanding for her: a score of Acceptable on her DADA exam.
xxxHERBOLOGY ~ Pxxx
- ■ Aria adores Ron, truly she does but she suspects she may dislike herbology more. She does not fear danger but does not seek it out and quite frankly the greenhouses had far too many things that could kill or maim someone. She did perfectly well on the written portion of her Herbology exam (she does listen to Ron) but when it came to the practical dealing with juvenile mandrakes Aria simply waived a hand and said, "And risk breaking a nail? I'll pass." The examiner did tell her she needed the practical to pass the exam to which Aria said, "Even if my Mum the Cathy League of Puddlemore United got you and your family season box tickets?" The examiner was about to protest when Aria smiled and said, "No, no, don't worry about it. I don't need my Herbology OWL. Have a lovely day!" She happily landed herself a Poor on the exam and the examiner was happy Aria was apparently joking about trying to bribe them.
xxxHISTORY OF MAGIC ~ Oxxx
- ■ Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. In Aria's goals at creating a better world she is determined to right the evils of the past. The first step in doing so is learning the evils of the past and the good that did work. Aria could have snagged her important O in her sleep.
xxxPOTIONS ~ Axxx
- ■ Ron would never let her fail Potions. It belonged to the first trinity of classes (where does he come up with this besides his mum Aria usually wondered). Aria would not be shy to point out you can buy potions pre-brewed much easier than brewing it yourself even if it cost a bit more. Still, out of respect for Ron and probably his mum Danica too Aria worked hard enough to be deemed acceptable at Potions.
xxxTRANSFIGURATION ~ Axxx
- ■ For all her giftedness in Charms, Aria lacked skill in transfiguration. Thankfully having a best friend turned boyfriend who is good in the subject and doesn't mind study dates doesn't hurt at all. Aria credited passing the class by a hair's breath instead of failing to Ronald Quinn-Smith.

xxxARITHMANCY ~ EExxx
- ■ Aria likes to see herself as a practical person and had always done well in maths during primary school. She had a strong foundation from the best muggle education her mother could afford. Aria found taking that foundation and applying it to arithmancy not particularly hard.
xxxCURSEBREAKING ~ EExxx
- ■ While cursebreaking was related to DADA which Aria would be the first to say she wasn't great at (not that it mattered because as long as you were good at some kind of magic you were fine) she found the puzzle aspect of cursebreaking fun. Maybe she wasn't perfect at the magic part but the memorization part she had down!
xxxHEALING ~ EExxx
- ■ Aria had more of her uncle David in her than her mother. Of course her uncle, Ron, and even Danica (Ron's mom) offered to help ensure she did well in her Healing OWL. Sure she didn't get an O but she just wasn't as gifted in the subject as some. She was still happy with her Exceeds Expectations.
xxxSTUDY OF ANCIENT RUNES ~ Oxxx
- ■ Aria like her mother is a gifted polyglot and studying ancient runes proved as natural to Aria as the many other languages she communicates in.
xxxWANDLESS ~ Dxxx
- ■ Wandless magic is remarkable and important if you don't want to rely solely on your wand. It is smart to know but difficult to learn. In Aria's opinion some people are just naturally gifted at wandless magic and some aren't. She fell into the second category. She tried though and it wasn't like she got a Troll which isn't bad considering she never could use wandless magic besides the occasional charm.
xxxWIZARD LAW ~ Oxxx
- ■ Aria since she was little has dreamed of working for the Ministry of Magic. It was only natural Aria would study the law with fervor and dedication that stood out. Truthfully, Aria was disappointed the Wizard Law exam was so easy. Shouldn't the law challenge the most brilliant of minds? Still, what she considered an easy exam meant an easy Outstanding for her.
