Daemon entered the empty Common Room slowly, his eyes raw and burning from the news he'd recieved. While he hadn't cried, he'd sure got close. He sat down in a chair by the fire sadly. his body was cold. The warmth of the knowledge his mother was safe was... Gone.

Daemon glanced up at the voice. "Oh. Cosette. Nice Christmas? I got a very nice present from the school. Well two. Our Santa got me a Firebolt. The headmistress gave me a letter. My mother, unfortunately, shant be attending any events anymore. She died." He delivered the words with the emotional pitch of a pea.

Daemon reached forwards as if to offer the feline his hand but hesitated. Cosette had never offered permission. "This may mean I inherit the family pet, and that will mean a headach for us all. It was an experiment my mother did. Legally, I hasten to add. She never got to decide upon a name, however it resembles a flying crab. As a child, I refered to him simply as 'Bob' and the name stuck. I assure you, He is highly trained and very intelligent, if over loving and rather mischievious. I offer a forward appology if you find him in your dorms. He is a curious critter." He smiled ever so faintly. Having Bob around may help him get an emotion back. Having to care for a flying crab was more tiring than it sounded. Maybe Charon would help. It struck him Charon would like the crab.

"She never told me," Daemon said sadly as he petted the cat, playing with it's ears softly. "And my mother had trouble maintaining notes. I suspect she used muggle animals,namely an eagle and a crab. I dread to.." Daemon went silent a second. There were some things eleven year olds were best not to guess at. He rose an eyebrow at the threat, "Bob is trained. He doesn't attack property, or pets. Infact he loves cats. When they hit his shell seems to amuse him." He smiled at the cat. "You'll get prey!" He told the cat, "But you can't eat him. I would be very sad." he patted his lap idly, offering the cat his lap.

Daemon smiled humourlessly. It didn't even touch the edge of his mouth, let alone his eyes. "I assure you. Bob is highly trained. Friendly. He enjoys company, so I am fairly certain we will find him following us around but only because he grew rather used to mother...." Daemon's voice trailed off in mid-sentance and he just stared dully at Cosette, his words lost.

Daemon strode into the common room with a yawn. bob entered behind him, holding a twin in his claw, eating as he scuttled along.

Daemon grunted as Bob went to speed past him. "No Bob. Don't touch her. You'll catch her ignorance." His eyes narrowed on the female. "Do you insult everything you meet?"
