Balder wasn't that far behind Bastian, and he nervously stepped up to the stool and looked over to his mor. She'd be fine with wherever he ended up, right? He took a deep breath, reminding himself that Luke and Jer had gone through the sorting just fine. But they were supposed to go to Hogwarts. His parents had wanted him to go to Durmstrang. He had demanded to go to Galtvort. What if because of that, the Hat was going to kick him out of the school? He worried his bottom lip as he sat down. Hopefully that didn't happen! He wanted to be in the school with his friends, not shipped off to Durmstrang where he knew no one!

                                                  ■ FRIENDLY Balder is a very friendly individual, always wanting to meet new people and interact with them. He loves making new friends, and even if someone doesn't like him, he won't stop trying to be a friend instead of an enemy.
                                                  ■ CHEERFUL Balder is very cheerful, always ready with a smile on his face. He believes that everything can be solved with a smile and a hug, and often goes out of his way to try and make people around him feel better. This might be misconstrued as being naive, but he does know there's bad people out there, he just wants to do everything possible to try and change them before he will consider them bad.
                                                  ■ BRAVE Balder is quite brave, as evidenced by the fact that he once stood up to someone impersonating his brother and said person cursing him for it. He will not hesitate to step into danger if he feels it's necessary, and will offer to protect anyone that needs it.
                                                  ■ TALKATIVE Balder is talkative. Very talkative. Like, he won't shut up he's that talkative. However, despite being talkative, he will listen to people that need to be heard, and often (to his siblings' annoyance) will lend advice or help to those that wish it. He can and will talk someone to death if he feels so inclined, however.
                                                  ■ HONEST Balder is honest to a fault. He doesn't believe in lying, and sees little reason to lie. In his views, lies only hurt people in the end, and he actively seeks out the truth in situations where there seems to be a lot of misdirection and deceit.
                                                  ■ BRIGHT While not as intelligent as some of his siblings, Balder is still pretty bright, and doesn't miss much when he stops to pay attention. He already knows several languages, Norwegian and English being two of them, and has an excellent memory for new ones. When he does apply himself, he can be every bit as bright as his older brother when Luke isn't actively applying himself.

If I could make the Earth and my dreams the same
                                              The only difference is
To let love replace all our hate

To be honest, if someone could read Fay's mind, he'd be screwed. The amount of colorful language that resonated within that skull of his could only be described as "wow". Streams of "what if"'s inundated his thoughts, as he wondered about the lessons in math and science and history he'd leave behind to pursue what 99.999% of the world didn't even knew existed. Would he regret ever choosing such a path? The thought of completing paperwork at the flail of a wooden stick was awesome and all, but would it be any different if he stuck with the average human curriculum of nature and nurture? Granted, the chances of being stuck with a soul-sucking job was high (come on, he attended one of those "bring your kids to work day", and accounting is pretty dry), but Fay guessed that with magic and human stupidity involved, the chances of dying during a menial job would skyrocket.

It was too late to go back, though, because at the sound of Fay Usher's name uttered from the staff tables, he understood that he was a full-fledged wizard attending Hogwarts (he was glad the school wasn't called Pigacne). The eleven year old sat on the stool, waiting for the hat to scream out his "house", basically a dorm, but with a dash of gruesome competitive meaning to it. Would he be a Gryffindor? Probably not, considering he's about to pee himself having to sit in front of the entire student body. Ravenclaw? He's pretty stupid, so that wouldn't work. Slytherin? No chance: He was a muggleborn. What about Hufflepuff? They sounded too friendly for an unstable guy like him. Wow, this is going to be a great year.

i n t e l l i g e n t ; Fay may act like an idiot and say things that suggest a lack of quality common sense, but in truth, Fay possesses a sharp and observant mind. The child picks up on little details and new information fairly quickly, which benefits him especially in academics. Outside of learning, Fay hasn't learned how to take advantage of that brain, however.
l o u d ; He likes to project his voice and yell, because it gave him a sense of confidence that he otherwise lacked.
l o y a l ; Fay saw the repercussions of betrayal and the agony that came with it. His father's senseless actions lead to so much pain that Fay vowed to never follow his example. But, Fay never really needed such a vow, because from the beginning the boy was always trusting and loyal. Once a person gains his friendship, he will remain undyingly faithful.
i n s e c u r e ; What Fay lacks is self-confidence. This manifests in an easily flustered and easily embarrassed nature, though throughout the years Fay has managed to keep his composure in public (that, or act the complete opposite of how he's feeling). It doesn't mean that Fay won't curl into the fetal position under his bed once the doors are closed, however. Fay is also a giant wimp who can't handle scary situations or stories very well.
a g g r e s s i v e ; Fay is abrasive. He lashes out at people when he loses his cool, and doesn't mind becoming violent sometimes. Though, it isn't his intention to hurt anyone, and he finds apologies hard to say.
k i n d ; He may not show it, but the child is generous and possesses a love for helping others. Fay just doesn't know how to express it, and let his antagonistic side take over.

As Jameson walked into the Great Hall, he was absolutely awestruck. Everything about it was absolutely magnificent, and honestly it felt like his heart was just about to explode out of his chest. When all the first years were led to where they were to be seated, Jameson took a seat beside Monika and waited for his turn to come with great anticipation. He hadn't really had a chance to answer when Ahnna asked about what house they wanted to be in, but when he thought about it, he wanted to be in Gryffindor. It was the house his father had been in, and it would only make sense to keep up the family tradition. But he wouldn't really be opposed to be sorted into a different house. Even Slytherin.

                                                              xxxP E R S O N A L I T Y xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
                                                                  ■ Adventurous James likes to get things done--a lot of things done. He enjoys exploring the world around him, which tends to get him in more trouble than he's ready for at some points. He's never one to let that get him down for too long, though.
                                                                  ■ Argumentative Unfortunately, James has a lot of opinions, and he likes to voice those opinions, especially in spots where he shouldn't. He'll argue his point until he can't anymore, and then he'll argue it some more. Just.. Don't start an argument with him, because he won't let you end it.
                                                                  ■ Bold While this can be both good and bad, James tends to see it as more of a good thing, as he thinks it means he can stand up to bullies and just general bad guys without risk of shaking in his boots.
                                                                  ■ Careless James tends to lose a lot of his personal belongings around the house, much to the displeasure of his father, but James doesn't really let it bother him. Even though he loses a lot of the little things, he keeps big personal items close to him at all times, like his late mother's necklace.
                                                                  ■ Compassionate When James latches his heart onto something, he does so completely. He cares about those closest to him with all that he has and would do absolutely anything to protect them.
                                                                  ■ Gullible James tends to be too trusting, and will usually fall for any lie that is told to him. Although when he finds out it is a lie, his trust is broken and it is very hard to win it back.

spaceKiera felt the butterflies in her stomach migrating up towards her chest, nervously fidgeting with her hands. Up until now, she hadn't really been overly concerned with the whole sorting thing. It had sort of just hovered at the back of her mind, something she wasn't really thinking about all that much but knew was coming. When they'd lined up and been marched into the Great Hall, though, suddenly she'd been very, very nervous. And excited, of course, but mostly nervous. Honestly, she didn't know all that much about the houses. Her da hadn't talked much about them, and she hadn't been concerned with it, so she hadn't asked. Now, though, she was regretting that. All she knew was that she probably wouldn't be a Slytherin; after all, that's what her da had been, and they were nothing alike. She'd probably end up int whatever house her mum would've been in, had she been a witch. Unfortunately, Laila had been a muggle, and thus there was no way of knowing where she would have been sorted.

spaceShe swore, when her name was finally called (she mentally cursed the lucky jerks whose last names started with a letter in the first half of the alphabet, except Alethea, obviously) and she had to make her way to the stool. Chewing her lip, Kiki prayed that this would be over quickly. Some of them, she'd noticed, took longer than others, and she didn't want to take long at all. She huffed faintly when she climbed onto the stool, crossing her arms and trying to look like she wasn't nearly as nervous as she felt. She didn't care where she went, she didn't know enough to care. But she desperately wanted it to be over as quickly as possible.

                                                          SWEET
Kiera is most often described as being 'a very sweet girl.' She's easy to get along with, and very easy-going. She likes to do things to make people happy, and is very considerate of everyone she meets. It's not in her nature to be unkind to anyone, though she has her limits. Still, she's never outright rude; she treats those who treat her poorly with a sort of polite aloofness.

                                                          WITTY
Growing up, Kiki developed a very playful sort of rapport with her mother. By the time she was seven, she could keep up with the woman easily enough, her mind working quickly and easily coming up with clever retorts. This trait amuses her father to no end, who swears he's 'never heard such a mouth on such a small girl.' Being in his company has only made it worse; her father is much more intelligent than her mother had been, and her vocabulary has expanded greatly because of it, since he refuses to speak to her any differently than he would an adult.

                                                          CURIOUS
She can't keep her nose out of everything. She loves to dig around through paperwork and drawers and find any and everything she can of note, a habit that drives her very private-minded father insane. She can occasionally be placated with a very interesting book, but typically it has to be a mystery novel. Equally acceptable are crime drama television programs, because she likes following the stories of both and trying to solve the crime before the protagonists.

                                                          OUTGOING
She doesn't like to sit at home and be by herself. When out on assignments with her father, she's often found chattering away with his colleagues, talking very animatedly about any and everything she can think of. Generally, it's found endearing, though she can have trouble telling when people are genuinely interested in what she's saying, and when they're just humoring her. She often has to be reminded that the adults are working, and even then, will follow behind whoever seems the least busy or the most interested, continuing on until she's eventually told to stop.

                                                          VIVACIOUS
Kiki has no shortage of enthusiasm for anything. She's energetic and playful and can't stand being stagnant. Whenever she's bored, she'll do anything to alleviate it, and she'll do the same for anyone else. She fancies herself very popular, despite having not had any real friends her own age for years now, and likes to think on fun things for people to do together. She doesn't like sitting around reading or playing board games, and would much rather dance or run or do something active and exciting.

                                                          ATTENTIVE
From her father, Kiera has learned to watch things around her very closely. She doesn't know why Callum is so paranoid, but at least a small portion of it has rubbed off on her. She doesn't worry so much about what she sees, and she's certainly not searching for anything bad, but she watches everything around her almost obsessively. Cal is always telling her to be careful, to watch her back, and to never be in a situation where she hasn't gotten her bearings, and she's taken it to heart. Something in his eyes tells her she needs to listen, and so she does, very well.

Wren followed the line of students up to the castle trying to take in ever turn and hallway he encountered but it was kinda hard since he was sort of sleepy but more hungry than anything. He hadn't eaten since last night and even that had been meager. He had avoided the trolley since he didn't want to be tempted to steal off of it and get caught and be sent home for something retarded like that. When they finally arrived to the cafeteria he eyed the different tables with the banners hanging above them, the long table that he supposed had all the teachers sitting at it (he mainly assumed this because it had the only few adults up there. Oh, and that banner that had that crest from the letter also sorta helped. Great observation there Wren, bloody brilliant. He sighed and waited out for this magical test that would put them into their different houses when a tattered old hat that looked like God himself would look around like "Medamn, that's old" and told they were to put it on their head and it would sort them. Like what, was he supposed to pull a rabbit out of it and the color would be to the houses? The ******** was this?! Thankfully though someone was called and he watched as the hat went over half their face and after a few seconds it called out a name and they went towards that table. Soooo...it was obviously a magic hat, was it telepathic? Could a hat be telepathic without an actual mind? Gah, he was going to make his brain hurt if he kept this sorta thinking up. Luckily, or unluckily, his last name was first in the alphabet so he was able to go rather early one. When Wren got to the stool and the hat was placed on him he greatly fought the urge to scratch because feck knows he'd already had lice once and he was so not willing to go through that s**t again just because of a magic telepathic Professor Xavier hat.

      ■ ADVENTUROUS Living in a cramped one bedroom flat for most of his life, Wren couldn't help but sometimes imagine life outside of what he knew. When he was younger he used to imagine his favorite superheros flying in and taking him to far away places like maybe Dubai, the Amazon, even London would be fine. As he got older those childish whims died but his sense of adventure only grew.
      ■ PRIVATE It had long since been beaten into his skull, literally and figuratively, not to speak about what happens in his personal life. No one needs to know because it's not anyone's business but his own. He despises those who think they have a right to snoop in other people's trashcans.
      ■ CYNICAL Eleven is far too young to have the bleak outlook on life that he has, but Wren likes to argue that he didn't suddenly develop it at eleven so whoever can shut their mouth hole and go about their way. There are no rainbows with leprechauns at the end. There's no light at the end of the tunnel. Whether there's a heaven or a God means nothing to him because he has to live in the now and the now. Sucks. Donkey arse.
      ■ DEDICATED Just because he doesn't always believe in the best of things doesn't mean he doesn't like to throw himself fully into a project or even a person. Whether its learning a new skill, getting enough money for the rent, or even just making sure his little sister is never fully aware of their bleak existence he will work until the ends of his fingers bleed, fall off, and then some.
      ■ PERCEPTIVE Wren likes to stay one step ahead of things and to do so he has to keep an eye for his surroundings. Especially if he's in a hostile situation, which is pretty much every weekday.
      ■ CARING Deep deep beneath his cynicism and rather prickly shell there lies a caring nurturing soul. He can't help but offer help to those who seem or actually are less fortunate than him which can include children and adults alike. He's especially caring towards his younger sister whom he's the actual caregiver of.

Step by step, heart to heart, left right left
We all fall down like toy soldiers
Bit by bit, torn apart, we never win
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers

The Professor set the hat down carefully on the student's head. For a moment the hat was silent before speaking....
Aren't you a bit cynical?
Paired with that determination, I know just where you'll fit...

It'd already been a whole day now that she'd been away from her Daddy. She'd watched as Fianna and Fay, the only two people whom she'd really gotten to meet went up and were sorted. The short girl stood there, rather nervous knowing that all the older students where watching them with bated breath. Her face was blushed, a light pink, but when she was called upon a cute squeak came from her. Her right hand moved to rub her left upper arm awkwardly, walking towards that stool

"Mmmhr...here we go?" Since the day she was told she was a witch she'd simply played a long, but now, with how this hall was portrayed now fancy effect could mimic it. All the floating candles, the way the sky was portrayed. It made her shiver as she sat down, feeling that large hat being sat upon her head. It came down over her eyes. 'Oh, m-my, everyone's gone?' She thought to herself, a feeling slowly penetrating her mind. 'No...they're there, I can barely hear the murmurr of the students. There are four houses, but which am I?'

■ SHY It's always been a challenge for her to approach new people, usually glued to her dad, or secluded with the few friends she's already made. It takes a little push to make herself talk to someone new, or especially if they're a cute boy. She tends to stay by herself. Unless she's around friends she prefers her solitude, especially with a glass of warm tea and a book!
■ FRIENDLY Once you are her friend, you'll mean the world to her, she'll invite you to play with her, read and even drink tea together! She'll help you with anything as best she can! She loves to spend a lot of time with her friends, making them happy and making sure they aren't in any trouble! She'll do anything to make sure they don't get hurt!
■ TRUSTING Once you're her friend she'll probably confide in you some of her secrets, or tell you things she wouldn't tell most people. The same thing goes for her friends, she'll listen to their problems, keep their secrets just that, a secret! She values trust over most other things!
■ POSITIVE Luci always looks ahead, never letting things get her down, she seems to stay cheerful and happy through most of her trials, and that effect seems to spread to people around her. At the worst of times, when things are all gloomy, being around her seems to bring out the best in people, some sort of happiness.
■ BOLD When you put her in a corner, bein mean, or if she's watching her friends get bullied, she will speak up no matter the circumstances. She will tell someone how much of a butt they are and how mean they are and that they are bad bad kids! Unless its a teacher! Then she'll keep her mouth shut, because that's their job...sort of.
■ DIPLOMATIC When all else fails, she will do her best to resolve all her disputes peacefully, even the disputes of friends. She'll try and talk her way out of situations where most people'll do what will keep them from getting hurt. She hates to get violent, but she has if she needs to.

The Professor set the hat down carefully on the student's head. For a moment the hat was silent before speaking....

Not to mention good at diplomacy.

Arden spent the rest of his trip following the person that he found out was the deputy headmistress. At least she seemed like a decent sort. He could already see Hamilton out amongst the crowd at the tables, and decided to push that from his mind. Hamilton could whine all he wanted about Arden not being pureblood enough, it wasn't like it'd do any good. Besides, he was actually eager to find out where he was going. Slytherin, like the rest of his forebears, or elsewhere? He didn't know, and he was willing to find out.

                                                                ↪PERSONALITY
✚Clever - I'm actually pretty clever. I have a lot of ideas running around in my head, and can figure out a lot of things quite easily. I also happen to think quickly and am cunning enough to figure out solutions that help me out in the long run.
✚Manipulative - I'm also very skilled at getting what I want. I know I'm the youngest in my family, and with the current climate, am the only male that's available left to inherit. My father says that's because his brother made a lot of mistakes, but my mother insists that the family's cursed or something. I'm not sure I believe her, but it seems awfully suspicious that both my cousins either vanish or are disowned leaving me the sole inheritor.
✚Friendly - Despite my upbringing, I'm actually fairly friendly. While me and my family do live in a predominantly muggle neighborhood, I never saw the reason to stay away from the other kids like my father and mother insisted. Thankfully, I'm able to convince my parents that I'm still following with tradition when I interact with what they say are those lesser than me.
✚Thoughtful - I always think before I say or do anything. I don't like hurting people if I can help it, and tend to try and make sure that the right thing is done instead of the easy thing. I consider every angle before I act, and try to convince others to a more logical plan of action rather than something spontaneous.
✚Traditional - Surprisingly, I'm still very traditional. I do prefer to hold to the old ways of acting like a gentleman and act in ways that are right and proper. However, what constitutes as right and proper does change over time, and while my parents might believe that they're right, they're not. Prejudice never is, and looking at the rest of my family, I'd have to say that I'd rather be proper and still be a decent person as opposed to to acting in an uncivilized manner.

                                                                ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
                                                                OOC:

                                                                Tell my mother,
                                                                Tell my father
I've done the best I can
                                                                To make them realize
                                                                This is my life
                                                                I hope they understand
I'm not angry, I'm just saying...
Sometimes goodbye is a second chance

Evan was, admittedly, a little nervous thinking about stepping up to the hat. He knew that the Vance children tended to be placed in Ravenclaw, but he wasn't so sure he would be - he didn't feel nearly as bright as either of his sisters - but he also didn't want to break the chain. Having Sybil around would certainly be helpful in learning to navigate the the castle, but he wasn't completely opposed to learning himself. I'll go to whatever house I'm sorted into... Evan told himself, stepping up as his name was called.

                                                                  intelligent.
As a key Vance family trait, it's not surprising that he's just as intelligent as both his sisters. He's a jack-of-all-trades, almost always knowing a little bit about everything. He's very good at recall, which tends to be the basis of his intelligence, and sometimes people consider him to have a photographic memory. He doesn't of course, it's impossible, but he's best at recall.
                                                                  adventurous.
Evan is definitely the most adventurous of the Vance children, always one to try some strange foods or go on some weird carnival ride, and probably regret the stomach ache he gets later. He's also very outdoorsy, and has always been the one to walk around the woods for hours at a time, fearless of what's to come. However, he does have a sense to stop when things start looking grim.
                                                                  rational.
Evan has always been a very clear thinker, despite his tendency to be rather scatter-brained, he's always been able to think logically rather than going out on a whim, or simply because he can.
                                                                  empathetic.
Evan tends to be very good at understanding and reading people, and always tries his best to put himself in others' shoes before making a decision, especially if it's a big one. He's also a rather good person to go to when you really need someone to talk to or vent to thanks to his want to have a deep understanding of his friends.
                                                                  passionate.
When Evan's very interested in something, he tends to get very deep into them, researching all the information about it. He likes exploring ideas and think about everything, always trying to broaden his knowledge on what he likes. However, when he's not really interested in a subject, he probably won't pay too much attention to it – he doesn't really care too much about his grades as much as he cares about what he's passionate about.
                                                                  reserved.
Evan's quiet, he doesn't really like disclosing information about him, even if he close friends with someone. He's unlikely to speak up in most situations, and he doesn't really enjoy large group conversations. While it does take him a while to reveal his emotions and opinions, this doesn't typically lead people to believe he's aloof.

                                                                  User Image

People say that, in a nutshell, I'm smart, witty, and loyal to my friends, but am easily distracted. I am also very good in school. If you are my friend, then I will always stay by your side. I aim for perfection in school, and whenever I get anything worse than an A, I am extremely disappointed. I'm not very funny, but I can always figure out a way to cheer my friends up. I easily befriend someone as soon as I meet them, and once you are my friend, you will always be my friend. But, I am very clueless. I sometimes daydream in the middle of class, which is plenty embarrassing if the teacher calls on me!

The crowd around Harvey was steadily shrinking as the sorting hat worked its way down the alphabet and through his year mates. He remembered the occasion story of his parent's sorting, the tension and excitement that had taken place. It wasn't much different then how he had imagined it to be in those stories. Occasionally, he'd hear whispers of what house someone hoped they would bee sorted into. The brunette male on the other had, didn't mind which house he got into, it would work out as it was meant to. Finally the hate came to the H's and it was time for Harvey's name ot be called. Taking a breath then cautiously he walked up to the hat and took his place waiting to see just where it was he'd be going.

personality
A level-headed young man who is protective of those I hold dear, or so I've been told, only one I've ever realized it with was Lisette. I know that I can have a stubborn streak and hold grudges, and often times even when I say I've to let it go I still remember. I'm generally supportive of most people's new endeavors while myself and not so open to trying new things and when I do try them I'm over cautious until I know for sure what it's gonna be like. I'm also not really one to sit around and be still, I have to be actively doing something. When I am given a task, I follow through with it until completed as well as I am capable of doing and will always lend a hand if someone needs me to. One other thing I've known to be true and most of my friends have pointed it out to me as well, I say what I mean and I mean what I say.

Constant chatter, about silly stuff, and then picking at the cool guy that was with them. He learned that the man was Kiera's father and Jack just couldn't understand how the Groundskeeper just let his daughter talk to him like that. Imagining himself speaking to his father like that, Jack shivered on the spot.

Keeping himself relatively unnoticed in the throng of students, he felt his nerves start coiling like a snake in his stomach. The Sorting had begun.

Students were called up and set upon a stool, with a hat placed upon their head. After a moment, the hat actually spoke and told them what House they'd spend their time at Hogwarts in. He watched, wondering what House they'd put him in. And then the moment came, his name was called and he strode confidently towards the chair. His face showed no emotion as he set himself down, awaiting the hat to be placed upon his head.

People say that, in a nutshell, I'm kind of a jerk, since I refuse to talk to many people. After the life I've lived, getting close to people isn't easy. I'm incredibly protective of people I care about, yet those are so few and far between. People get in the way and hold you back, it's so much easier being alone.

Raised the way I was, it's hard not to be a perfectionist. I demand it from myself, expecting others to fail where I triumph. I blame my father and his rules. I'll take advantage of any situation I can to make sure I succeed in my venture, sometimes at the cost of others in my way. But I'll never insult someone based on their heritage, especially considering my own. Do you know what it is like being called a b*****d on an every day basis?

I tend to look at the world in shades of grey, everyone has a reason for their actions. No matter how heinous a crime, there is always a motive behind it that drives them to commit it. Same goes for acts of bravery and everyday kindness, very rarely is anything what it seems.

Once you really get to know me, you'll see that I'm one of the best friends you'll ever have. I might get angry from time to time, might not speak to you for a few days without a spoken reason, but I'll always be there if you need me. And if you gain my trust, I have no secrets.

                                                                ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
                                                                OOC:

Because they 𝔰𝔩𝔢𝔢𝔭 with a gun
And keep an 𝔢𝑦𝔢 on you, son
So they can 𝔴𝔞𝔱𝔠𝔥 all the things you do

                                          first year - unsorted
So this was the Great Hall of Hogwarts? It was certainly one of the finer places that Maisie had been, and that was saying something. Maisie had been many places, but none of them were quite like the room in which she found herself in currently. Each room was different of course, but the girl was quickly finding that this was one of her favorites. She wondered if her friends at other schools had such a marvelous room.

Speaking of her friends abroad, did they have something like houses? If they did, did they have a Sorting Hat? Maisie would have to send them an owl to find out. For now, the important thing was figuring out where she was going to be placed. Truthfully, she didn't mind where she would end up, but listening to her parents go on about the houses, the girl was quite certain she would end up a Slytherin. If it weren't for the fact that her father was a Slytherin, she might feel a bit apprehensive about this. After all, so many people tended to think that it Slytherin was the house of dark magic. Maisie wasn't sure that her father could even harm a fly.

Maisie's thoughts were soon interrupted by the deputy headmistress calling her name. Even though butterflies were forming in her stomach, the girl did her best to walk calmly up to the hat. She didn't want people already thinking she had a weakness. 'Here we go...' she thought as she waited for the hat to make up its mind.

                                          ┊☆good personality traits:
xxxxx- Ambitious: Maisie knows where she wants to go, and what's she's going to do, and nobody's going to tell her otherwise. She dreams big, perhaps sometimes too big.
xxxxx- Charming: One of the things that Maisie has learned while traveling, is how to be polite. She has no problem telling people what they want to hear in order to come off as friendly, but make no mistake: she's closer to fewer people than you would think.
xxxxx- Intelligent: Her travels and early education endeavors have helped to make Maisie a bright young girl. Not only does she know a lot of information, but she knows where to look for it.
xxxxx- Self-Disciplined: A girl can't be ambitious without having discipline. Maisie would rather only include herself on her entire plan, and that means she needs to actually have a plan and stick to it.
xxxxx- Strong Leader: Group work? No problem. Maisie loves to take charge of projects. She's actually a bit bothered when she's not in charge. She can tell who is good at what, and delegates tasks appropriately.
                                          ┊☆bad personality traits:
xxxxx- Cunning: Sometimes lying and deceit is needed to get what you want. The ends completely justify the means. It's just a matter of how to pull it off.
xxxxx- Impatient: Being a self-disciplined person means that Maisie sets deadlines for herself, as well as those around her. If people don't meet those deadlines, she can become quite irritable.
xxxxx- Nervous: Despite the front that Maisie puts on, she's actually quite nervous on the inside. She doesn't always know about what. Generally she fights through it, but there are times it gets the best of her.
xxxxx- Sarcastic: Being serious all the time is overrated. If a sassy comment is needed, and the time is right, Maisie will totally be the one to say it, or at least think it.
xxxxx- Relentless: Once Maisie gets an idea in her head, she's not likely to change. She can be quite harsh on herself.

┊☆common mood: Maisie typically sees herself as better than everyone else, but not in a way that makes her behave as an animal. Rather, she feels the need to behave so people like her. Certainly people might become better if they had a role model to look up to.
┊☆sense of humor: Getting Maisie to laugh is easier said than done. She prefers complicated humor, however in a more relaxed environment she is likely to find more vulgar humor hilarious.

┊☆greatest joy in life: Being an only child
                                          ┊☆greatest fear: Losing everything
┊☆greatest strength: Knowing how to work people.
┊☆greatest weakness: Seeing people as resources instead of people.
┊☆soft spot: Any cute small animal. And younger children. She'll act bothered, but she's not.

┊☆biggest regret: One time in charm school, she played a prank on the teacher. She made it look like someone else did it. That student almost got kicked out of school. Maisie never apologized.
┊☆biggest accomplishment: Once discovered a star that had been previously unknown while stargazing with her mother.

      ══════════════════════════════════════════

XXXMuch to the aggravation of the fellow student behind him, Benjamin couldn't help but shuffle along slowly in the line for sorting. He was barely paying attention to the sorting of the students that he did not know, and kept pausing too long to gaze around at the hall around him. Eventually he got prodded hard in the back, and before glaring at his peer, he decided that he should pay attention. His name being amongst the first on the list for sorting, Benjamin didn't see too many of his friends get sorted, but he cheered and clapped for the other students when they were sorted into their houses.
XXXLeaving King's Cross with mum and dad on platform 9¾ was already a fuzzy memory, and it made him wonder if he had packed enough socks. The train ride had seemed to go by quickly, due to the non-stop antics of his cousin and new friends, though granted he did fall asleep in their car for a good portion of it.
XXXBenjamin was bouncing on the balls of his feet by now, not only due to his height, but also in anticipation of getting sorted. Soon enough, he would find which house suited his personality, and it made him think of all the stories that he had heard of from his parents and other family members or friends of family. "I guess all of them are decent..." he thought to himself as he watched the student in front of him mount the stool and nearly disappeared under the brim of the sorting hat.
XXXHe was lost in a stupor of adventures that his cousin had told him about, he could already see the abandoned tunnels, he was finding unused classrooms, or was standing in the kitchens with the elfs and their wonderful treats.
XXXBenny snapped out of his daze just in time to notice that the student on the stool had just finished being sorted. Before he got another prod in the back from the student behind him, Benny wasted no time in advancing towards the stool. As the girl made her way to the appropriate house table, he noticed that the students there cheered and accepted her warmly. Benny grinned and wondered which house would soon be taking him in. When his name was called, he turned to his friends and smiled, gave a thumbs up, mounted the stool and then sat down. His trainers barely brushed the ground, and he grinned as the hat was lowered onto his head.
In the darkness, Benny was once again in thought, and muffled out his thoughts from underneath the brim. "Ok hat, dad was in Gryffindor and I'm really brave like him, mum was in Ravenclaw and I'm really smart like her too. But which one do you think would be best for me?"

((OOC: Personality in the spoiler below.))

      xxxP E R S O N A L I T Y xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
NOBLE Ever since he was young, Benjamin has always commanded an air of leadership about him. He tends to be calm and rational about situations, and it's fairly rare that he would get too angry or upset about anything. For example, when someone accidentally hurts his feelings, he usually smiles and pretends not to be bothered by it, wanting to project a positive, self confident image. But when someone does cross a line, they are usually surprised at the sudden strength of his defensive attack. On these rare occasions that someone does get him going, it seems to them that the storm had burst from clear blue skies.
EMPATHIC As described by his Oma, Benjamin has always been a good listener, even if he is bored to death. He will always look to understand someone's emotions, and will try to help them through the good and the bad times.
AMIABLE With his empathetic nature, Benjamin has always been able to change himself around to any person that he needs to be for any given situation. For example with someone that is outgoing and extroverted, he can be rowdy, loud, and social. Though with someone who is more introverted and shy, he can adjust to being quiet and sensitive.
BRAVE As Benjamin has been slowly finding out, there is more to being brave than being first. In some instances so far, he has learned that bravery comes from doing what must be done, even though you are scared. For example, the time Benny forgot his fathers briefcase in the garden late at night, with no lights and knew that he had to retrieve it for him for work the next day; and so he dashed in and out of the house to get it for him.
PROTECTIVE Even as young as he is, Benjamin has always had a fierce passion for standing up for his family, friends, and anything that seemed to need help from him.
CURIOUS As a sort of "Jack of all Trades", Benjamin has always been interested in finding out the ways that various things work. He is constantly wanting to learn, and has, on multiple occasions, gotten a rise from his mum and dad because of all the questions that he has pestered them with.

                                                                      User Image
