spaceEve made her way out onto the pitch, bouncing lightly as she stepped. This game marked quite a few milestones in her life. Her first game of her seventh year. Her first chance to attract the attention of any scouts. First game of her second and final year as captain. And, the only one she was sad about, her last game against Melody. She was bound and determined to give her girlfriend a good game, which in their minds translated to 'I'm going to kill you babe,' and she loved it. She'd be super excited for Mels if she won, of course, but she'd also be super excited if she managed to break a few of her ribs in the meantime. Knocking her out would be both awful and awesome, but she was pretty sure Mels wouldn't hold it against her if she did. After all, she was the one who wanted to go pro for a while after graduation. With a grin, she waved to the blonde, then greeted her team as she dropped into her stretches. Today was going to be a good day.

Drew had to admit, she felt really intense and nervous about being in the first string too early since she was expecting to be in the frontline in her fourth year. Except Kenzie left the team so she had to take the role, she bounced on her toes nervously as she did her arm stretching. Also, she would be having to deal with Ivar aiming bludger at her if his warning was ever to take word of, but then she would be mad at him for going easy on her too so Drew (secretly) appreciated Ivar's lack of desire to underestimate people and see her as another player and not just being loosely related.

He knew that his niece Drew ended up getting the first string as seeker, so he warned her that Ivar was still going to aim bludgers at her. Granted, in this game he was captain so he won't be playing friend or family card in this one. He won't lie and say that this won't give him pressure, because it really did but that won't stop him from leading the team to another win like last year.

Gabby headed onto the field more or less prepared. She knew what it was like to play in a real game with real stakes on the line. She smiled and waved to her teammates before stopping next to Drew. "Don't worry Drew we've got your back." She told her reassuringly. Gabby couldn't imagine being star seeker this early. It was hard enough being a third year beater. But she knew Drew could do it or she at least hoped she could. Adjusting her glasses she hoped they wouldn't be a problem.

They just lost a few players that were definitely good. "Today's game is between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. Lions versus Badgers. I want a nice clean game between both teams. Let's get this party started!" She kicked open the box and mounted her broom, waiting for the snitch to vanish before grabbing up the quaffle. Flying upward, she tossed the ball up, starting the game officially.
