Oh you should've stayed home. You should've known better! Wendy Madeline Chaisty [SLYTHERIN] House: Unsorted Wand: Hazel and Merpeople Scales, Inflexible, Decorated Shaft, 9 1/2 inches in length Blood: Pure. Currently: a 1st Year Wearing: Slytherin Uniform Now ----------------------------------------------------------- Wendy smiled as the Sorting Hat told her more or less what she already knew about herself and what she aimed for herself always before telling her she was definitely a good fit for Slytherin. Though, she thought the option should be obvious enough the hat didn't have to take as long as it did to sit her head. There were some people who got their house selection even before the dirty old hat had to touch their head. Well, at least the hat was decent enough to compliment her and gave her a good house. Or she figured it was good until she caught sight of the boy with the last name Ryans. Was he the child of the infamous Ryans in her family, but she was going to have serious doubts if the child of a blood traitor and a half-blood Gryffindor of all things could be a Slytherin. The nonsense of those two should automatically ban any children of theirs from being sorted into Slytherin. She wondered if David would know-he probably would considering he was technically the second heir of the Avery clan. Not that she could picture him actually telling her.
She realized she had her eyes narrowed at the kid far longer than she cared as Genevieve greeted him and with a brush of her red hair and sat down several seats from the Ryans kid. She was sure she'd eventually figure out if he was from that idiotic move on Acacia's point. Wendy still was amazed the two of them got off as light as they did. Dismissing it for the moment she returned her attention to the sorting, an expression of polite interest composed on her face at this point as she watched. You thought you were gonna throw it back in my face, but tell me how do my leftovers taste!

Seymour Benjamin Ryans [Slytherin] Wand: Curupay Wood with a Pixie Wing Core, Pliable and Bent Blood: three-quarters magical 1st Year ----------------------------------------------------------- Benjamin nodded when Genevieve introduced herself, glad the redhead finally gave up on glaring at him suspiciously. He figured if she bugged him he would just tell her to go hang herself or something far worse in Spanish. There was some colorful phrases in Spanish he heard over in Paraguay. "Yeah, apparently," Benjamin said with a bemused smile at Genevieve. "I'm Benjamin. So, got what you were expecting?" He added politely.
That's when he realized that Genevieve had eyed the redhead fairly unimpressed. How could you create enemies that early? Or maybe it was just some minor spat or whatever. The redhead seemed fairly interested in the Sorting and wasn't paying attention to what was going on. "I mean I know some people were hoping to get certain houses. I could care less, but I'm fairly laid back about things," He added with a laugh. "My friend Timothy over in Ravenclaw was betting one of the two houses my parents were in. So he won with his second choice. Good thing I didn't actually bother betting about things."

She shrugged her shoulders at the boys question, momentarily glancing over at the sorting."Can't say I really expected anything. Most my family is either Slytherin or Ravenclaw, so it was one of the too."Genevieve was happy to be titled a Slyhterin but she sometimes did not see the point of the houses, of course they all lived separately but most students mingled with everyone else no matter what the house. Following his finger she saw the friend he was pointing too, almost as if he was proving her thoughts, friends could be in any house so what was the point of them. A smile crossed her cheeks as she saw Jayden hope onto the stool next. "I would not bet either, that hat there is completely unexpected. Honestly I hardly think it matters what house you get in, unless your own of those crazed people who just can't mingle outside of your own house. The girl rolled her eyes at the thought, sure she was a bit stuck and stubborn but she would never judge someone by the label on their uniform.
When the hat called out Gryffindor for her friend, she sighed, they wouldn't be in the same house. Though the idea of a Slytherin and Gryffindor was so against what most thought that she simply smirked, would make their friendship that more fun. She waved over at Jayden, before turning her attention back too Benjamin. "I am kind of excited to see the dungeons though. Just hope it is not too cold. And my older brothers are here so I kind of feel a bit more at home with them close by but don't tell anyone." She whispered the last part, not truly happy that she was so dependent on her big brothers. Cold was not her favorite temperature but despite that if there was something interesting in a castle it usually was in the darkest wholes, so she was a bit curious about the dungeons.

Seymour Benjamin Ryans [Slytherin] Wand: Curupay Wood with a Pixie Wing Core, Pliable and Bent Blood: three-quarters magical 1st Year ----------------------------------------------------------- "Dad's a Gryffindor and I'm fairly sure my grandfather-his dad-was too, he definitely wasn't a Slytherin. Anyways, Mum was a Slytherin but she doesn't talk about her family like at all so who knows," Benjamin said with a shrug. He smiled as he noticed Genevieve sigh when someone she apparently knew was sorted to Gryffindor. She was right about the mingling outside your own house thing, there was no rule you couldn't.
"And, I'm fairly sure it is going to be cold for me all the time up here. I haven't gotten used to winter in London yet, don't know how I'm going to managed even farther north, now," Benjamin added with a shrug. "And that is nice about your brothers. As for telling anyone... why would I think to one way or another? I mean gossip is boring. Though, what did the pelirroja do to you? Just curious because she gave me a death glare for at least five seconds. I think it is funny." He nodded towards Wendy who was paying attention to the sorting at the moment several seats down. "I need to know if I need to start ordering spiders or something for back-up," He added with a shrug.Translation: pelirroja=redheaded female

Thankfully she was a fan of sweaters and warm clothing, so she had plenty to keep her warm on the colder days. An even bigger smile crossed her lips, she hated gossip and simply did not care enough about others to keep up with it, so it was refreshing to meet someone who was similar."Peliroja?"The girl repeated with her accent, not sure exactly what it meant. But once he nodded toward Wendy she stifled a giggle and shook her head. "I am sure she is harmless, a loose tongue is all and maybe something stuck up the rear end." Genevive laughed now, but hidden behind her own hand to avoid gaining anyone's attention. She hardly thought the red head as cause for spiders or anything, though it would be amusing to see how she would react to it. Gen could not help but glance over at her brothers, the fact she thought of spiders just to tease the girl was so like them. "Of course, having back up just in case is never bad."She said with a smile glancing over at Wendy,"Would be funny too see the Miss prancing around with spiders in her hair." Genevieve's eyes shimmered slightly for a moment a grin plastered on her face, oh how loved mischief. But turning her attention away again she shrugged her shoulders, "But yes, I suppose just ignoring her is enough. Unless you have a thing for red heads." She teased smirking as she elbowed him softly and winked.

"Pelirroja? Um..." He paused and thought for a second half embarrassed he had thought of the Spanish to describe Wendy instead of the English. "Redheaded female. It has no real negative or positive connotations. The same could be said about my Mum, actually it was, all the time. Which speaking of my Mum is good reason that having a preference for red heads would just be weird for me. God, my Mum has this annoyed look she's perfected that is absolutely terrifying. Though, she actually has to be provoked to get it. I never did anything to her-" he paused and nodded at Wendy "-besides just happen to be the one before her in sorting, I guess."
"As for spiders, there is always the possibility spiders don't scare her. Mum is like that," Seymour said with a shrug. There were enough spiders around in Paraguay-some fairly big or poisonous- that he would have known by now if spiders bugged her. He shook his head. He didn't mind redheads anymore than those who weren't redheads, but he was fairly sure unlike his Dad he didn't have a preference for redheads. Besides, she looked fairly bored. He didn't really care one way or another as long as she didn't bother him or anyone else.
"A loose tongue or even a sharp one doesn't really bother me," Seymour added. "Words are just words after all. Getting the spiders and all that is way too much work if all she has is mean things to say or nasty looks to give. That stuff isn't a big deal. I could care less. I'm not that petty. And I am way too lazy to fuss over something that small."

It was a bit amusing, now that she repeated the phrase in her head. Peliroja, I have to remember that. The girl looked away from him, but every word he spoke lingered on her. Genevieve could only force a small chuckle, when he spoke of his mother, as she stared down at the table. From what she could remember her mother was far from terrifying, the only look she could remember perfectly were her warm smiles, not much else. Gen had not suffered her mother''s lost like her brothers and father, she cried for a few days but then simply got over it. Still hearing Benjamin speak of his own mother caused a small little sting.
Ignoring her feelings and pushing them away she looked up just as he nodded over at Wendy. "Oh who knows what possible reason she has, maybe she simply has no other way to look at people." Resting her elbows she placed her hand under her chin and smiled. She could relate to the whole being lazy as Benjamin put it, unless something was of actual gain to her she saw no reason in putting effort. "I agree completely which is why I suggest stop talking about her. It is a waste of breathe." Her patience was already fading, she was rather anxious to get out into the castle and get settled. Grumbling lightly she turned to Ben, deciding to turn the conversation to something else, before gazing over at the professors. "I wonder who the head of house is..."

"Tal vez," Benjamin answered with a non-commital maybe as an after thought to Genevieve suggested that the redhead might just not have no other way to look at people. He shrugged when Genevieve said Wendy wasn't worth talking about. He agreed. If she didn't like him or anyone else for any reason, he was sure she'd let them know directly... eventually. His eyes followed to the staff table where Genevieve wondered about who the head of the house was. "Meh, I'm more curious when the sorting will be over and we can eat. And then go to bed. Or maybe send out owls or something. It'll be entertaining to point out to Mum that the sorting hat thinks I'm apparently more like her than Dad, because she always claims if I ever get into trouble or skip out on schoolwork or something that it is because I took after Dad. Considering Dad's job as a mediwizard, even if he skipped class constantly and never did homework, obviously he did okay academically."
"And the head of the house doesn't really matter all that much, I figure. It's the prefects who generally tell us where to go and prefects and any of our professors can give us detention or whatever just as easily as the head of the house," He added. "Hell, even the librarian can apparently ban you from the library. Or that was what happened back when my parents were in school to my Dad."
He shrugged, glancing over to the Ravenclaw table where Timothy sat and then to the Hufflepuff table where Khai had taken a seat with Lillith. Benjamin sort of had a feeling he'd end up like his mother and spend more time with people outside of his house than with his housemates, though it wasn't like he disliked Genevieve or anything. She seemed fairly nice and didn't seem to want to make enemies or be unpleasant right off the bat. Weren't Slytherins basically just a group of ambitious people more than anything? And the hat said something about his adaptability was one of the reasons it placed him in Slytherin. Then again, Benjamin was fairly sure he could get used to any of the houses if the hat had decided to place him elsewhere.Translations: tal vez-perhaps/maybe ----------------------------------------------------------- Wand: Curupay Wood with a Pixie Wing Core, Pliable and Bent 3/4 Magical Linage.

At the mention of food her stomach growled, "I myself would not mind some food, though can't say I am too excited about sleeping, my father has no time for owls. Though grandfather would be thrilled to hear I got into slyhterin." Answered the girl in a rather slow bored tone. But at the thought of her grandfather she smiled, Benjamin mentioned his mom saying he was much like his father. Though Gen had no mother her grandfather had constantly compared Gen to her grandmother, what shock will it be for the old man to know his princess is not a angel like his wife but just an image of him.
Breaking from her thoughts she lifted her chin from the support of her hand and turned to look at the boy as he proceeded to explain the just how many people had the right to boss her around here. "Oh great, as if one authority figure is not enough..." There was a vague memory in her mind where her brothers tried to tell her all this, over a dinner she remembered, but she had not been paying much attention. Genevieve glanced over at her brothers, both chatting away with their own friends. Glancing back at Benjamin she arched an eyebrow and followed his gaze to the other tables, "I am sure you will see your friends later, that is if this sorting ever finishes. Back at the station really didn't seem like there was many students." Gen herself could not help but glance toward Jayden, though she was kind of happy everyone else she had met had joined her in Slytherin. Henry was nice to her even after smacking into her almost knocking her over. And Mira seemed just as curious as her when the met in the wand shop and made the same effort Gen did to be nice. Even Wendy, which Gen glanced at the moment, seemed like a good candidate for a friend if both the girls could get past their snarky attitudes.

xxxxx Henry walked over to the Slytherin table, a bit numb. He wasn't quite sure this was where he belonged, but it's not like he could change anything about that. The hat had put him in Slytherin, the hat was never wrong. Right? Henry noticed that almost everyone he'd ridden in with was at the Slytherin table; Genevieve, Wendy (a small shudder at the thought of having to spend the next seven years being her housemate), and Mira, who was sorted right after him. In fact, the only person who wasn't in their house was... Jayden. Henry did not see that coming. And he definitely didn't see Jayden being put in the Gryffindor house. That was... a surprise that Henry hadn't even considered at the time of sorting. But, it had happened, and now Jayden was definitely a Gryffindor. Henry wondered if this would mean he would be seeing more if him, or less. Henry sat down near Genevieve, who was talking to another boy that he'd yet to meet. "Hey Genevieve. Glad to see you made it. Or I guess, I made it. In either case, look at us. Housemates."
xxxxxHenry turned to the other boy who was with them. He was this slightly good looking other boy who was taller than Henry, but they were build similarly. Well, they were still 11, they'd probably do a lot of changing in the next couple of year, and then they wouldn't be looking so similar. Henry held out his hand in a slight attempted to shake the other boy's hand. "I'm Henry Isles. And you?" Henry politely tried. Slowly, he was realizing that it would not be easy to take advantage of his Slytherin housemates, and so, he'd probably have to change his ways, just a bit. Get the Hufflepuffs to do stuff for him, probably.

Benjamin raised a brow at Genevieve laugh when he slipped into Spanish again. It seemed to be amusing to her-though what he said was more of a shrug of shoulders than anything. If he actually had learned Guarani like his parents had as well when they lived in Paraguay, he'd be sure it probably would be all the more amusing. His parents had wanted him to focus more on Spanish because almost as many people spoke that in Paraguay and only Paraguay really recognized Guarani as a first language (along with Spanish, actually). So much for Spanish being normal. Then again, he was fairly sure he didn't look all that much like he had any reason to speak Spanish.
When Genevieve replied about the food and spoke not that excited about sleeping and her grandfather, he just shrugged. "As for authority figures, the worst they can do is give you a detention or send an owl home for you or take away house points, or something like that. I mean I suppose they could expel you but you have to do something pretty spectacularly horrible for that I figure. It's not like they are allowed to chain us in the dungeons or something. If the authority figures are limited like that what does it matter if there is one or a hundred of them?"
He smiled and nodded when Genevieve mentioned seeing his friends later and complaining about having so many students, "More students just mean you blend in easier and get away with more. As for seeing my other friends, I'm going to actually plan to show up for more classes than I originally would have now. Still probably will be late half the time, knowing me. I'm not particularly fond of set schedules, being that picky is bound to just stress you out or whatever."
When a dark haired boy approached and greeted Genevieve he nodded at Henry and gave a small smile. It seemed that Genevieve had apparently became friends with several first years who were sorted into their house, while Benjamin managed to do the opposite, though Genevieve was nice enough, but he was more thinking about who they happened to end up around before they were sorted. When Henry held out a hand and introduced himself, Benjamin stood and took his hand in a firm handshake and said letting go soon after, "Benjamin Ryans. Nice to meet you." With a smile he sat back down figuring to let Henry start wherever he wanted since he had just caught back up to Genevieve and it was mostly just small talk things that Benjamin and Genevieve were saying-though discussing Wendy wasn't exactly small talk but they brushed over it fairly quickly.Translations: ... ----------------------------------------------------------- Wand: Curupay Wood with a Pixie Wing Core, Pliable and Bent 3/4 Magical Linage.

With so many students I hardly see how they can monitor each and every one." Genevieve was tapping her chin with her finger as she thought about it. Being a brat for all her lie she knew exactly how to get adults to look the other way with her, just as he father and grandfather both thought her to be a saint. As long as she portrayed the good student no one would have reason to suspect her for mischievous behavior.
She glanced up at his friends then toward her friend at the Gryffindor table. "I did promise father I would do my best not to slack off in class, but I am so lazy in the mornings I can see myself being late quite a few times. Not entirely a morning person per say." Genevieve smiled widely when Henry took a seat beside her, another familiar face was so refreshing. "Seems we are Henry. It is rather comforting too know a few faces on the first day." Gen looked away for a moment as the boys introduced themselves. Somehow, just like at home she found herself surrounded by boys. She took a glance at Wendy, wondering if the girl was truly that snarky or if it was just a moment between the girls. Gen never had many female friends, actually none at all, the idea of another girl to converse with was tempting but after their earlier encounter she was not about to engage her in conversation. Snapping her attention back to the boys only to here her stomach grumble, she glanced up at Ben and sighed, "Did your parents happen to mention ine verything they told you when we will be fed...I am starving." She then turned to Henry, a faint smile across her face "Were you expecting to be sorted into Slytherin?"

Location: Great Hall: Slytherin Table Mira watched as everyone from her boat ride got sorted into Slytherin. When it came to be her turn she was nervous but couldn't wait to find out her placement. Listening to the hat before it called out Slytherin, Mira didn't know if she believed it. What did she need to be careful about? Shaking that thought away, Mira grinned as she walked to the Slytherin table all while looking over at the Gryffindor Table. She hoped to see a look of shock from her sister but she didn't get that. Instead she got a smile... what was that all about?
Taking a seat next to Miss Wendy, Mira had a feeling they'd be seeing each other shortly. "Hello again, looks like we're housemates." she said simply. "Congratulations by the way." she added. Mira wasn't going to be a complete jerk although she wanted to be. Looking over at Gen and Henry she wondered if making some actual friends would be worth her time... Camila ran a bit late, by the time she arrived a hefty handful of first years had already been sorted. She picked out their faces easily enough amidst the crowd of serpents, unfamiliar and unknown. She huffed quietly to herself as she picked out a seat and coiled her fingers around the cool goblet for a sip of pumpkin juice to ease her parched throat. A discussion of introductions swirled around her, how boring. She leaned over the edge and tapped her fingers against wooden table top, impatiently awaiting the arrival of the feast. Her eyes scanned the staff table, then the unsorted first years lumped together all in a row. Then the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw tables, but both of her brothers seemed too busy to notice her so she redirected her attention on the Slytherin table once again. Out of sheer loneliness, she plucked the first silent student she saw, a poised redheaded first year who had eyes on the lot of eleven year old still in their plain black robes. ”'Ello,” she mussed up a wry smile. ”You seem quiet.” She pointed out plainly. ”You okay mate?”

Oh you should've stayed home. You should've known better! First Year and Probably Purer Blood than Your Bloodline.
Wand: Hazel and Merpeople Scales, Inflexible, Decorated Shaft, 9 1/2 inches in length Wearing: My Uniform ----------------------------------------------------------- Wendy glanced over when she heard a girl addressing her awfully casually with a 'ello' and calling her mate. She paused for a second and raised a brow in a bit surprise and shook her head and answered her tone overly formal as she waved off the girls apparent concern, "I am perfectly fine. I was merely thinking. A name caught my passing interest, though, I'm sure it is merely a coincidence. Or so I would think. Besides, there still is more to be sorted."
She waved a hand with a kind of nonchalance lack of concern. She assumed the girl was a second or third year, judging she didn't look that much older than herself but Wendy didn't remember her from the first years. That was when she noted Mira Mitchell from the boat ride who took a seat next to her and said that it looked like they were housemates and then congratulated her. "Ah, yes, housemates I suppose. Along with everyone else who actually didn't try to dump the boat with idiocy," She answered Mira with a nod. "And there isn't much worth congratulating me for. It is assumed that the hat would put someone anywhere on the Avery family tree would be in Slytherin. Though, I feel half insulted the hat had to bother to take a moment to comment on it before sorting me."
She rolled her eyes and glanced first at the Hufflepuff table where Cathy was chattering away to different people with her typical smile and then to the Ravenclaw table where Cathy's brother, Wendy's second cousin, and the official conditional second heir of the Avery Family was sitting flipping through a book though he seemed to have a fairly annoyed look on his face as he tapped his finger on the table. She sighed, "I suppose it isn't a given anymore, all things considering. The last two sorting of someone on the family tree was a bit of an anomaly-well not just a bit when it came to one of my second cousins, but I guess it doesn't matter all that much."
"Regardless, should I say congratulations to you?" She answered with a polite smile to Mira before glancing back at Camilia who inquired about her being okay because of her quietness. "Oh, I have yet to formally introduce myself. I am Wendy Chaisty. Miss Mitchell, was it?" She paused glancing to Mira before continuing, "She was in the same boat over as me." You thought you were gonna throw it back in my face, but tell me how do my leftovers taste!
