And if the karma patrol take control- I'm gonna be in trouble. And if the moral police ask for receipt- I am gonna burst their bubble. Richen, smidgen, muddy, smutty... Who’s your god; I'm not the type to pray- Except when I fall; I'm only human, after all. ᶜ ʸ ᴿ ᵁ ˁ ᴱ ᶻ ᴱ ᴷ ᴵ ᴱ ᴸ ᴸ ᴵ ᴸ ᴸ ᴬ ᴺ ᵀ ᴵ ᴺ ᴱ ˁᴸʸᵀᴴᴱᴿᴵᴺ │ ᶠᴵᶠᵀᴴ ʸᴱᴬᴿ │ ᴾᵁᴿᴱᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰ │ ᵀᴴᴵᴿᴰ ᴮᴼᴿᴺ
Cy had had a completely boring train and carriage ride. The train had been him in a compartment with an unenthusiastic seventh year who had barely said a word the entire time, and the carriage had been with a gaggle of nervous second years, all too shy to say much to a fifth year, even one who smiled as much as he did. He was almost sullen by the time he entered the Great Hall, but managed to cheer himself up at the thought of the Sorting to come. Things were always interesting at the Slytherin table, even if Nike refused to speak to him and Vio glared daggers at him the entire time. Someone (most likely a first year) was guaranteed to say the wrong thing and get everyone else up in arms, and watching lynch mobs form and pitchforks be handed out was always enjoyable. People, especially Slytherins, tended to nurse grudges like suckling newborns. In this house there was always sense in crying over spoiled milk. I played the devil's advocate- I played into his hands! I played the fool; I played the victim... And if you bump into the devil; Tell him I understand. Rather the devil you know. Than the devil you don't.

spaceAiobheal, walking into the Great Hall with her arm linked through Mels', had completely bypassed both the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff tables. Instead, she had marched her way over to the Slytherin table, promptly sitting down at it as if she belonged. Which, she still was quite certain she did. The more she thought about her's and Darian's sortings, the more she thought that they both had the right idea, that they'd been swapped somehow. The pair had swapped houses the year before, as closely as they could, but Eve had typically sat at the Puff table with Mels rather than her own or the Slytherin, just to avoid getting in trouble. But, a Summer with her parents had her feeling braver, and more certain about the whole thing. It didn't help matters that her father had absolutely agreed that she belonged in his house, and had spoiled her rotten buying all sorts of green and snake-themed accessories. This year was basically going to be a test run, to see how far into the house she could get before she crossed a line and got in trouble.
spaceShe grinned over at her best friend, clearly pleased as punch. "I like this. We're as far away from your brother and Balder as we can get. Heaven." Eve didn't hate Melody's older brother per se, she just thought he was annoying. And that he and Balder needed to shut up and admit they were going to be married in six or so years. And adopt a million babies, just like both their parents had done. Seriously. "Plus, we get to spy on all the weird posturing the new Slytherins do. Daddy and Uncle Damien told me it's practically a tradition." She was willing to bet that, when they'd been first years, her father and uncle had been at the forefront of that ridiculous display. She'd heard stories about them when they were younger. Sticks up their arses, noses in the air, the whole nine yards. Though, having finally met her grandmother, she got it, Which sparked another amused thought. "He also said it'd drive his mother crazy to see me sitting over here, especially with you. So, like, bonuses all around."

In restless dreams I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone 'Neath the halo of a street lamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp мυɢɢℓєвσяиє ▽ тαкєи ▽ υиcσиғιиє∂ ⊰Gia shuddered at the possibility of being stuck in a carriage with Avery again. She had kept a three year streak since second year and she'd be damned if she broke it now. She was just about to shake her head in negative to seeing anyone when Tristan came out of nowhere asking if he could catch a ride up to the castle with them. Well that certainly made things easier for her. Especially since he just gave away such useful information such as Zeph and Lori catching up and he actually not wanting to bust in the middle like a bothersome zit. "I've been alright. Still working on master plans of world domination with a light serving of torture and despair. What about you? How was it having a nonrelative double 'x' chromosome stay with you for an entire summer?" she asked with a smirk as they found an empty carriage (with Avery nowhere in sight thankfully) and made their way up to the castle discussing summers and she generally picking at Tristan because she hadn't gotten the chance to do so last year between studying and him hanging off Lori like a diseased leech. When they finally made it inside, Gia was heading straight for the Slytherin table when she spotted her friend over with the Hufflepuffs, or more specifically with Zeph and his merry band of morons. Aster she wasn't so sure about including since despite blog and twitter retaliations she didn't think too badly of the Gryffindor. Still, she smirked to herself and gently elbowed Carver to grab his attention before gesturing over to the table knowing he'd find that as funny as she did. Lori was playing right into her betting pool, even if she was still going to pay for last year. Once she finally found a seat she made sure to force Tristan near them so he couldn't slink off without answering a few more of her questions. "Alright truth time, did you seriously just walk away from Whitethorne and Lori getting buddy buddy or do you actually have some sort of intricate plot to win her heart or something like that?" Gia asked not caring she sounded like a busybody. She had a right to know, money was riding on all three idiots. ⊱

⟣𝐹𝒾𝒻𝓉𝒽 𝒴𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒮𝓁𝓎𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝒾𝓃⟢ Contessa was, admittedly, not having a great evening. But, oh well. She pulled out her copy of her Arithmancy textbook, staring at the words. She really didn't care about reading it, but she needed something to occupy her mind. She had had a rather dull summer, compounded by a dull train ride. Even stupid Kyson wasn't there to annoy her. She sighed heavily, twirling a curl around her finger. She had been stuck with her family for too long, and she honestly didn't think she could handle spending any time with them for a long while. Maybe someone would decide to sit with her, but she doubted it. She didn't exactly have friends. For now, the teen contented herself with her book, glancing up to see the people around. {OoC: Open for interaction} Bᴀʙʏ, I'ᴠᴇ ʙᴇᴇɴ ʜᴇʀᴇ ʙᴇғᴏʀᴇ I'ᴠᴇ sᴇᴇɴ ᴛʜɪs ʀᴏᴏᴍ ᴀɴᴅ I'ᴠᴇ ᴡᴀʟᴋᴇᴅ ᴛʜɪs ғʟᴏᴏʀ I ᴜsᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʟɪᴠᴇ ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ ʙᴇғᴏʀᴇ I ᴋɴᴇᴡ ʏᴀ Aɴᴅ I'ᴠᴇ sᴇᴇɴ ʏᴏᴜʀ ғʟᴀɢ ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀʀʙʟᴇ ᴀʀᴄʜ Aɴᴅ ʟᴏᴠᴇ ɪs ɴᴏᴛ ᴀ ᴠɪᴄᴛᴏʀʏ ᴍᴀʀᴄʜ 𝓘𝓽'𝓼 𝓪 𝓬𝓸𝓵𝓭 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓲𝓽'𝓼 𝓪 𝓫𝓻𝓸𝓴𝒆𝓷 ℋ𝓪𝓵𝓵𝒆𝓵𝓾𝓳𝓪𝓱

Rhys walked in after spending the rest of the trainride with Vannah. He had seen Gid around the halls patrolling and had promptly ignored him, instead opting to talk to his friend. He made his way over to the Slytherin table when they entered the Great Hall, figuring that if nothing else, he just wanted to sit somewhere where he wasn't going to have to look at the Gryffindor. That would make it a lot harder for him to actually not talk to him at all.
He glanced over to look at Vannah, figuring that she was right behind. Part of him wanted to ask her if she knew any ideas besides the one he had to get over Gid, but he couldn't just ask her after breaking up with her. That was one, wrong, and two, tactless. Instead he decided to look at the potential students that were lining up to be sorted and frowned. "So which ones do you think look like they'd be either Ravenclaws or Slytherins? I never really paid attention before, so I don't know if there's a specific look to someone that could lean toward those traits. Unless you were thinking of doing a fortune or something with each one." Not that that actually worked in Divination. Rhys had been taking the subject long enough to understand that generally fortunes involved interacting with the person directly affected by the fortune. It was rare that fortunes didn't involve the subjects not asking the questions, and unless there were hidden Seers in Vannah's family, he doubted that she'd start spouting off prophesies.

Savannah was not a very good prefect, or at least, she didn't think so. Her round of patrols thus far consisted of hanging around with Rhys and loitering longer than necessary on the train, the station, and even the carriages, until they were finally inside. Every once in a while she had to fight off the urge to steal his hand, or lock her arm around his, but it wouldn't be right. Not this soon. It wasn't as awkward as she expected; nothing had really changed. He was still going to sit with her during the sorting, and she could still tell him everything. So really, it was all the same, minus the snogging anyway which there really wasn't that much of (something about the taste of spit and hot breath in her face just kind've killed it for her.)
Ghosting behind as Rhys lead the way down the Slytherin table, he made a point to sit as far away from a certain Gryffindor as possible. As they moved down the aisle she kept her eye out for a particular Ravenclaw but she never saw him, his tan skin, or shaved head. Liam wasn't anywhere, and she only hoped that his father hadn't pulled him out of school because of her. ”Hm?” Seated across from Rhys, she blinked. It took her a moment to replay his words in her mind but nodded when she finally did, ”Sorry, I was just looking for...” Turning a slow stare back across the bronze and blue table, she shook her head this time and said, ”Nevermind, it doesn't matter. Um, y'know, I've never been very good at predicting first years and their houses. Hard to do any sort of reading when they're so far away.” This time, she searched her own table. More so for a better sense of her surroundings than actually searching for anyone. Moments like these were when she felt most vulnerable; lost in a crowd but always being watched. ”I can't believe we have OWL's this year, feels like we just started school. I don't think I'm ready to decide what I want to do for the rest of my life,” she sighed dramatically and laid her chin to rest on the palm of her hand. ”Bloody hell, I dun' even know what I want to eat for dinner, much less, choose a career path before I sign up for NEWT's.” Sighing again, she fixed her attention on Rhys and said, ”What about you? Any idea what you're going to do after school?” It was harder and harder trying to trick herself into believing she could be a seer and make money at the same time.

⟣𝐹𝒾𝒻𝓉𝒽 𝒴𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒮𝓁𝓎𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝒾𝓃⟢ Contessa was still reading when she heard someone move close to her. It was a fourth year, one she'd seen around. She watched as he sat beside her, then he casually bade her a good evening. "Good evening yourself." She sighed quietly and marked her page, then set down the book. She looked at this kid, knowing he was of pureblood descent, but not much else. "I'm Contessa Linwood, by the way. Fifth year." She did her best to sound like a haughty pureblood, as it was in her family. Well... most of her family. She waited patiently, not really caring about the sorting at hand. She didn't know any of those kids, so she didn't have interest to stake. ⟣𝐹𝒾𝒻𝓉𝒽 𝒴𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒮𝓁𝓎𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝒾𝓃⟢ Contessa noted the male's name, deciding to keep it in her memory. He seemed rather docile, so she decided to allow him to continue in the conversation. He said it was nice to meet her, then said she had a beautiful name. Honestly, the complement took her by surprise. She wasn't used to getting complements. "Well, thank you, Raymond. And you may call me Tessa, if you so choose." She offered a small grin, even though the gesture was foreign to her. She listened as he asked about her summer, and she shrugged. "It... was very normal, I suppose? Nothing of interest happened. How was yours?" She looked at him, her dark purple eyes sparkling in the candlelight. She looked around when he turned his focus to the first years. When it seemed he was listening to that student's sorting, she lost interest. She genuinely didn't care about this years crop of new kids. Actually, she only knew one, and it was only by name. Goldy's little sister would be getting sorted, but she couldn't care any less about Kyson's family. The girl looked back at Raymond, wondering where conversation would take them. Vito took his seat as he watched the new students being sorted. He wondered if anyone of them will make a bigger scene than he did last year, he smirked a bit doubting it, though if they did it would be entertaining to watch at least. Maybe he would join in for the fun of it. He did not care about the house points like most of the students here seemed to, it's not like it meant anything other than house pride, and that was something the boy had none of. Now if the winning house got a cash reward or something then he might be willing to give a damn about them but that is not to be the case. Vito fixed his tie as he waiting for the feast to start, did they all take this long or was the hat still sour about what he said to it last year and made took its time just to spite him? Nothing is more serious than pleasure; Happiness is impossible to measure. The only life worth living is leisure... Nothing is more serious than pleasure. I like a winner; someone who knows their game- A truthful sinner; there's no rush to fan the flames.

Melody had of course spent every waking second of the day with Eve. That was a given. They were basically attached at the soul. She grinned and followed Eve straight to the Slytherin table. She was part of a family that was half Slytherin and half Hufflepuff. So she knew she'd feel comfortable at the Slytherin table just like she did at Hufflepuff. She flopped into the seat next to Eve and rested her head against her shoulder. "And Bas' girlfriend. Don't forget her! I mean...she's kind of nice I guess, but ugh they are both so annoying. Acting like they aren't actually helplessly in love with eachother. Her, Bas and Balder should all just go get married already!" She giggled at her friend's next comment and glanced at all the Slytherin's.
"They all kind of have that look like they just smelled something really gross and are trying to not show it. I bet Uncle Damien and Uncle Dom looked just like that as first years. Chelle and Ada said they were the most annoying prats ever when they were first years!"

spaceRuaridh was going to have to figure out what the hell arse it was that the had had actually said, he knew. Slither in? That had to be wrong. It sounded like a bad line from one of those gross movies he wasn't supposed to know his da watched. But he slipped off the stool and headed towards the tables, making note of which one was cheering loudest, and reasoned that, like with everything else, he could fake it until he figured it out. Not like he was going to let any of these arseholes know he had no clue what was going on. Sitting at the table, he noted that his tie and robes now had green accenting, and so did the ties and robes of everyone else at the table. Looking at the others, ne noticed that they all seemed to be color coded, green, blue, yellow, and red. Since his clothes were now green (and when had that happened, anyway? He'd missed it), and he was sitting at the table with the other people in green, he assumed he'd chosen correctly. Whatever the hat had said, this was definitely the table that the kids in that group sat at.
spaceOr... Maybe not? Some of the people he could see at the table were in other colors. There were two girls, one of which was in yellow, and the other was in green and red. Then there was a boy in blue... Was the thing about the tables not required? Or were those other kids breaking rules? ... Hmph. Whatever. Not like he cared. The first year's gaze landed for a second on the girl he'd sat across from, who he thought had been in line with the first years, like him. He hadn't been paying much attention, to be honest. But she was obviously young, like he was, so she must've been. He offered her a half-hearted wave before turning his gaze to the head of the room and resting his chin on his fist to watch the remainder of the sorting, lacking anything better to do.
