 Arianna groaned as she completely missed the older blonder chaser. They were approaching the goal and the older girl was certainly outmaneuvering her. Then to Ari's surprise Joel the youngest of the three managed to get in and snag the quaffle right back from the older girl. The red head couldn't help but smile at the boy as he made such a good move. Ari decided to try her luck against the boy and try to snag the quaffle from him so she could make her own move. Dante watched as Joel nabbed the ball from Celaena and doubled back to the center. This was a close game, and it was evident that the Gryffindor team had a lot of competent players. Dani listened to Pru as she told everybody her plan, and nodded quietly when she was paired up against Bethany. It was depressing to note there wasn't even enough players to fill out a Red and Gold Team for scrimmages, but that was the way things went. She also noted Rosabella's absence, but then the Seventh Year, and her older sister, Alex, had a tendency to oversleep the morning of tryouts, so she didn't put any stock in that.
After mounting her broom, Dani lightly touched off of the ground, allowing her mount to drift upwards toward a safe cruising height about the scrum of the Chasers competing for the Quaffle. 'Time to kick the tires, and light the fires,' Dani thought, as she waited for the balls to be released. 'Time to prove I belong here.'
She didn't envy Bethany's task one bit, given she was new to all this, but she also knew better than to assume anything. After all, in her first tryout she was competing against much older, experienced students before having even seen a game before. Bethany could surprise everyone and be the next Harry Potter.
When the Snitch was launched, Dani began her methodical search of the pitch for the nigh-invisible little ball.

 Addie almost laughed at how fast she hit the first target. She smiled for the first time since the whole Hogsmede situation. Quidditch especially playing Beater always seemed to cheer her up. Dani leaned forward on her mount and coaxed it to greater speed as she began her chase of the Golden Snitch. The cool breeze through her hair felt wondrous, and the thrill of the chase banished all other thoughts from her mind beyond this moment.
