Finally! That train ride had been exhausting with nowhere to move and groove! She'd tried to get up and dance around her cabin, but it was a little too small, too crowded, and wobbly for proper dance. Even once they were off the train, it was onto a crowded platform. Dangit! Tambry fluffed her curls to try and tidy up before the big dinner. The first years were called over to join a large guy who then led them to the lake. Great. Of all the things Tambry could do, swimming was not one of them!
The group boated over to the other side, where some lifted docks sat. Tambry used her strong arms to lift up before delicately setting her feet under her as well. She was ready to go, even though she now had to wait on the others to join her. Once they were all out of the rickety boats, one of their professors led them up a long path. At least Tambry was able to stretch her legs! Too much sitting wasn't ever good for the body. After their walk, the group went inside. Having had no magical experience apart from that one shopping trip, everything was fascinating. The paintings were moving and talking! How insane!
Their next destination was a large room dominated by four tables, with one long one at the top going perpendicular. Professor Clarke gave a little speech, then started calling them up for sorting. It seemed to take forever, but finally Tambry's name was called. She gracefully did a little dance-y step over to the top, then gently sat on the stool at the front. The hat was placed over her fluffy curls, and her sorting began. "Hey there! It's me, Tambry Kapri Hattley! Apparently you choose our fates, correct? I may just have to ask how you work. D'you know if there's a book about you in the library?"

Eddie had had an interesting journey to school. Following a lot of hugs and love on the platform, he followed his big sister up into the train. They parted ways there, with Charlotte probably going to sit with her friends. Eddie found a nice cart beside a boy with a wheelchair. They had some nice conversation, but Eddie was distracted with a book about antique cameras that his dad had gotten for him. It was a long several hours, but thankfully his new friend bought some chocolates to share. At the end of the ride, Eddie straightened his tie and walked onto the platform. Amidst the crowd, he couldn't find his sister anywhere, before he was split off to go with the rest of the first years.
On the boats, the brunet searched around to try and find some waterfowl. Unfortunately, he was unlucky in his venture. It wasn't but a few minutes before the group arrived at the other side and were able to get back on solid ground. Brown eyes glanced around as they walked to the castle, a bit sad he didn't have his camera on him. There were several great photography backdrops out here. Soon enough the little group made it into the castle itself, and everyone was gasping. Eddie kept his eyes on his feet, making sure he didn't trip and fall in his metered gait.
The conclusion of their journey was to the Great Hall, where all the older students were already sitting. Dark eyes glanced over toward the table decked in scarlet and gold, offering a small wave toward his big sister. He made the second of five siblings to join the school, and he wondered if he would be joining his sister in her house. Though, he had to confess he didn't feel terribly brave. Charlotte always seemed so... confident and in charge... where he seemed to prefer just trailing after her or one of the many others in their family. Maybe school would be a good turnaround?
He waited a long time until his name was finally called. He glanced over at Char once more, then walked up to the front, counting each of his steps. He said a soft hello to Professor Clarke, then sat down. The hat was put on his head and he carefully pulled off his glasses, fidgeting with the arms as he let his mind wander a bit. "What a fascinating bit of magic you must be. If you don't mind, do you think you could place me somewhere nice? Maybe somewhere I can get a lot of nice photos... or see birds. Thank you for wherever you think I belong."

When James' name was called, he strutted onto the stage, head held high. Although he was a new student, he had heard a lot about Hogwarts from his parents and many, many family members who had attended the school. Or he'd mayhap find a home in Gryffindor or Slytherin. Either which way, he knew it was the Sorting Hat's call, so he waited quietly as it was placed atop his head. Although he didn't say a word, he was sure the Hat was listening.

Okay, so. The process from getting off the train and into the school had been a nightmare. Despite wanting a bit more independence, Adelai had to admit it was probably smarter that he'd brought his wheelchair today. Thankfully, he could still take some steps without support otherwise getting into the boat would be a nightmare. The groundskeeper - Adi was told to call him Obi - had been a huge help in getting the preteen over to the school. Once the boats got to the docks, Adi watched with mismatched eyes as his new classmates effortlessly climbed up and out of the boats. He had had to wait for Obi and Professor Clarke to use a little magic (and a little ingenuity) to lift him and his chair up onto the dock.
Thankfully from there was a little easier, just a long uphill path into the castle proper. But man, his arms were pretty tired! He was infinitely curious about the school itself, especially since his mom had kept it all hush-hush. As he trailed the other kids in his class into a huge dining hall, the dark-haired boy couldn't help but be in a bit of awe. This place was huge! Adi was definitely nervous, but he'd read about the houses in advance and he figured they'd all be pretty awesome. He watched his classmates get sorted one by one, until his own name was called.
" 'Scuse me... pardon... watch your toes..." He mumbled softly as he wheeled between his fellow first years and up to the front. Just as he started to stand on shaky legs, Professor Clarke stepped down, gently patting his shoulder until he was safely seated once more. She set the hat on his head, and Adi drew in a deep breath to try and calm his racing heart.
"Hey there, Mister Hat. I was wondering how they sorted us. D'you think you can put me somewhere fun? My mom was a Gryffindor, and that sounds pretty okay... B-but wherever you think is best is okay too!"

xxxxx⇾Iᴍᴀɢɪɴᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ Living in a creative world lends to creative thoughts. Adelai loves inventing new ways to make life interesting and fun, especially if it benefits others
xxxxx⇾Cᴏᴜʀᴀɢᴇᴏᴜs Standing up for those around requires a certain level of bravery. And no matter what, Adelai will always muster up his courage to do what's right, no matter how scary the circumstances.
xxxxx⇾Fᴏᴏʟɪsʜ Courage lends itself to fools. And though Adelai follows his own morals, sometimes he goes through crazy hoops to get things done. He has very little self-awareness sometimes, and has ended up in odd situations a time or two because of it.
xxxxx⇾Rᴇᴀʟɪsᴛɪᴄᴀʟʟʏ Oᴘᴛɪᴍɪsᴛɪᴄ Optimism, but within restraint. Adelai always looks on the bright side of life... within reason. He’s painfully aware that the world’s not all sunshine and daisies, but he tries to look for positives wherever he can.
xxxxx⇾Lᴏɢɪᴄᴀʟ Adelai’s mind works in blueprints and schematics. He loves deconstructing things and piecing them back together in order to learn how they work. Every action has logical consequences, and he likes knowing what all of these are. If there’s a problem, Adi can usually puzzle it out from context alone.
xxxxx⇾Cᴀʀɪɴɢ Adelai deeply cares about everyone in the world around. He always assumes people have a good heart, and sometimes just need a caring hand in life. He’s always willing to lend an ear or shoulder to cry on, and he tries to at least smile at everyone he sees. Expect him to provide compliments frequently and entirely at random.
The Professor set the hat down carefully on the student's head. For a moment the hat was silent before speaking.... Bravery echoes in your family lore Imaginative spirit and courageous under the sun Foolish adventures, yet realistic optimism... GRYFFINDOR!

Archie Reed FIRST YEAR - UNSORTED
Archie's eyes were wide taking in every detail of the castle. It had been quite the day. They had all woken up early to get ready and get to the station. Before they even left the house Persephone's new kneazle had been startled by a hippogriff of all things and bolted. By the time their parents managed to corral her, they were already running late. By the time they made it to King's Cross Station, the train was already boarding. Unsurprisingly, Persephone seemed more or less unfazed by the situation. She was just too excited.
The train ride had been alright, but it was long. Then they'd moved to the boats, which Archie wasn't too thrilled about. He didn't exactly love water. But, finally, they had made it and he was starting to get excited, if not a bit nervous. He watched the sorting with great interest. He really didn't know what house to expect. He was maybe leaning one way or another but honestly, he wouldn't be surprised by any of the four houses. The same went for Persephone. It made him a little nervous. He shook the thought from his head. What would happen, was going to happen. No use worrying about it.
When his name was called he gave a look toward his sister and with a deep breath made his way to the stool. He sat down and found himself shutting his eyes as the hat was placed on his head. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to say something, or rather think something, to it, but it felt right to let out a mental 'Hello' as the hat made its decision.
QUIET While not debilitating shy, Archie prefers to let his sister do the talking. He’ll make conversation easily enough but much prefers to just observe. Archie tends to keep his thoughts and opinions to himself if it’s not something overly important. ADAPTABLE Archie will take whatever life gives him and adjust. He tends to go with the flow and will change as needed. He’s willing to change when presented with new information. CLEVER Not much goes unnoticed by Archie. He catches onto things very quickly and loves nothing more than to come up with solutions to problems. He’s constantly thinking up new ideas CONSIDERATE Archie takes time to think about others and their feelings. He will never do something that could end up hurting someone else. He is always there to help and tries to be friendly with everyone he meets. TRUSTWORTHY You can always count on Archie to do exactly what he says he’s going to do. As a matter of pride, he won’t let anyone down if they’re relying on him. He never has ulterior motives and will stand by those he loves no matter what. HARDWORKING Archie’s not one to shy away from work, especially if it involves a challenge. When there is something he wants to learn or if he has a goal in mind he’ll happily put in the effort he needs to accomplish it. He’s self-motivated and it’s easy for him to stay on top of tasks.

Persephone Reed FIRST YEAR - UNSORTED
Persephone was quite literally bouncing up and down on her toes. She hadn't been able to stop moving since the moment the train left King's Cross Station. Which drove Archie a little crazy. He should've been used to it by now.
"This is so cool," she whispered to him with a big smile. She began scanning the crowd that was gathered scouting out potential friends. She'd make friends no matter what, she just hoped wherever she was sorted the other kids would like her. She couldn't wait to find out. When her brother's name was called she gave him two thumbs, and mouthed 'Let's go!' She watched closely, feeling nerves hit her stomach a little. And then suddenly it was her turn.
Persephone bounded up to the stool and sat herself down. She forced herself to stay still. After a moment she thought, 'If you want to put me in the same house as my brother I wouldn't be mad, but totally understandable if you don't. I know we're not super alike. I guess really I'll be happy with everything. As long as you're sure, I'm sure.' Her string of thoughts continued. She just hoped she wasn't annoying the hat.
CURIOUS Persephone wants to know everything she can about the world around her. She loves to explore new ideas and learn. She is more than happy to poke around to find out answers. ENERGETIC Persephone rarely slows down, mentally or physically. Everything is exciting to her and if she gets going on something she’s passionate about it’s difficult to get a word in edgewise. She fills every minute of her time with things she considers exciting and hates to be bored. KIND Persephone treats everyone she meets with respect until given a reason to do otherwise. She genuinely cares about people and does what she can to help others. If anyone ever needs a friend, she’s there. RESILIENT Nothing can stop Persephone for long. When something doesn’t go her way she immediately gets back on the horse and tries again. If something doesn’t work she figures out what went wrong and tries again. PLAYFUL Persephone loves to make people laugh and feel good. She can find fun in most situations. This can lead to a healthy amount of spontaneity MISCHIEVOUSPersephone isn’t afraid to cause a little trouble. She likes to play jokes and entertain others but it will never be at an innocent’s expense. She’s a big believer in malicious compliance.

Finneas MacDavis- Grey Unsorted │ First Year │ Eleven Years Old │ Single
Finn felt a swell of excitement looking around the Great Hall as he waited his turn to be Sorted into his House. Given his name, he’d be in the middle of the pack as to when it took place, so he knew he’d have a bit of a wait.
The train ride up was rather uneventful. Being the seasoned traveler, his cousin, and sometimes babysitter, Linsey, set up a compartment at the back of the train, so she’d have a place where Blannat could stretch out on a section of floor without being in the way of all the other students. While he wished he could have his own doggo, he understood there were issues with having such a large one as the big wolfhound. He was a little disappointed, and a might concerned, when Linsey took the leash reel off of her and wrapped it about Ella’s thin waist, and she told the dog to stay with them in the compartment. Thankfully, the big hound seemed to understand the level of trust Linsey invested in him, and never caused her a lick of issue.
Finn made a point of getting snacks off the trolley, as Linsey left a pouch of coins with him and Ella for just that purpose, and making sure his newly acquired cousin had at least a little something to tide her over until dinner, whenever that might be. Of his cousin, he really never saw much of her at any one time; she checked in on them and when she was able, and at one point she was had the chance to sit with her family for a while. Not that he was particularly concerned, Finn was content to read the book on the Peninsular Campaign he’d gotten not long before it was time to board the train.
At some point, Finn dozed off, and he woke up to the train pulling into a station in someplace called Hogsmeade, and Linsey was shaking him awake. He put on his school robes and followed his cousins out of the compartment, and into the darkness outside. Linsey made sure he met up with the rest of the incoming first year, telling him they’d meet up with him at some point later before leaving with Ella.
Finn got to cross the Black Lake in a small boat, along with other students, holding a lantern in the prow as it crossed the impenetrably dark waters. If he had lingering doubts about the school’s existence, they vanished when he saw its towers rising into the skies, the windows glowing with light.
Now, he was here, waiting his turn to have his name called to be Sorted. He was a bit surprised to see that it was a magical hat making the determination, but he supposed it was as good as any other method. When his name was called, he was a bit startled, as he’d been studying the star pattern in the ceiling above him, but he walked purposefully over to where one of the teachers was holding the hat for him to wear.
‘So how does this work? I talk, you talk? My mother was in Gryffindor, and my cousin is a Ravenclaw, and my new cousin, Ella, is a Hufflepuff. Does that help? Do you remember my mother? She was a pretty good Seeker in school. I’d like to think I could go to my mother’s House, but I’m not sure. So, what’s your call?’
Personality:
■ Focused- If I’m doing something I’m really into, I am like zoned out to the rest of the world. Dragon flying by? Sorry, mate, didn’t catch it, I was busy. ■ Loyal- Family is family, mates are mates. It’s that simple, really. ■ Been told by folk I got more guts than brains, take after my mum, I guess. Nothing wrong with a level of bravery. ■ When I set my mind to something, I’ll stick it out until it’s done. ■ I have trouble sitting still when I’m bored, so I usually try to have some kind of project going to keep me busy. ■ Confident. I know I can do things, if people would just give me the chance.
Likes:
■ Playing football with my mates. Can’t do that anymore, so I’ll settle for playing Quidditch. ■ Followed the Irish team since I was little cause Mom, and Aunt Hannah too, but they’ve retired from playing now, so I’m a Kenmare supporter these days ■ I really like playing music, and hanging out with the Causeway Hares. I can play guitar (acoustic and electric), fiddle ■ Pizza, although most sorts of pub-grub are good with me too. I’ll try anything with potatoes in it, except cauliflower ■ Celtic rock, folk music, some jazz
Dislikes:
■ Cauliflower tops the list. Don’t care if Linsey’s cooking it, no way I’m touching it. ■ Not being able to play football with my mates. I mean, just because I’m a wizard, its like nope can’t do it. Its like they don’t trust us or something. ■ Sitting through Religion class and Sunday school lessons. They really do love going on about things, don’t they? ■ Being bored, its frustrating. By the way, did you know fidget-spinners can fly? ■ Having a babysitter. Don’t get me wrong, Linsey’s cool and all, but I can handle things myself, really. No, really…
Hobbies: ■ Quidditch ■ Playing guitar and I’m an okay singer ■ RPGs and games with model soldiers (they’ll be even cooler once I figure out how to animate them).
Strengths: ■ Detail-Oriented, I’m all about getting it right the first time ■ I can adapt to change pretty quickly. I may or may not like it, but I can roll with it.
Weaknesses:
■ Pugnacious (that’s a polite way of saying I’m stubborn) ■ Well, if I’m not otherwise occupied, um, well, my mind starts going in other directions, and that might not go well.
Fears:
■ Spiders ■ The big nasty gales and hurricanes that come off the ocean, the ones that shake the house and rattle the windows. They scare Mum too, so…
