Thorsten's early mornings had become a lot easier since Cornelia was sent to charms school. She'd never cared about being left with someone else however now she didn't have too. Mornings were certainly more lax for him which was nice. This class would be an easy one. As he didn’t plan on getting into any new material, just review. Not the most exciting class but for the rest of the year he knew it would be far more interesting.
Sitting at his desk as his students arrived, Thorsten hardly showed any expression as he looked to see theirs. Getting up and going to the front of his desk he leaned up against it before flicking his wand to the board revealing the subject topic on the board. “Good morning and welcome back to ghoul and ghost studies. I hope you had good summers.” Thorsten greeted before continuing on. “Since you had your testing last year, I'd like review.” He informed them.
“Was their anything you were unsure of?” Thorsten asked of them before adding. “One topic each please. Questions and comments are welcome.”
Yet another early Friday morning and Thorsten was preparing his second to last lesson of the week. Today he was going to dive right into the new material. Sitting at his desk as his students arrived, he hardly showed any expression as they took their seats. Getting up and going to the front of his desk, he leaned up against it before flicking his wand to the board revealing the subject topic on the board. “Good morning,” Thorsten greeted before getting into the topic. “Today we will be discussing the topic of Shades.” He informed them before the board wiped clean and a piece of chalk started writing the notes for the lesson. “I suggest taking notes down from the board.” He gestured before continuing on.
“Shades are not to be confused with ghosts. Though spirits, they are conjured by extremely rare magic. Appear more physically solid than a ghost, but less than a living body.” Thorsten told them as he walked around the room. “Rumor is the resurrection stone is one of them." He mentioned before continuing back up to the front of the room. "Shades are recalled souls of the departed, with no permanent existence. That said once the spell responsible ends, they evidently disappear.” He finished before asking. “Now, any questions?”

“The waystation may very well be limbo. As mentioned back in first year it is place between life and death. It is possible to be the place where one decides to remain or go on. Its appearance differs to each person who visits and appears inside a person’s mind.” Thorsten told them as he walked around the room. “Being inside one’s mind makes it both real and unreal. Shades as discussed previous may appear to individuals in the waystation. These possible shades however appear more solid then ghosts, and able to be physically touched." He mentioned before continuing back up to the front of the room. “Now, any questions?” Thorsten asked as he leaned up against his desk.

Raymond Ara Yuko Sixth Year Slytherin Prefect Pureblood Parselmouth Team Chaser
Location : Ghoul and Ghost Studies Class - Friday @ 8:00am
Walking into ghost studies right after breakfast Friday, Raymond was only killing time until Jasmine got out of Art. He was going to meet up with her before her law class later that morning. Taking a seat he didn’t say anything as he took out his books. As it turned out the class was only going to be review. Raymond tried to keep himself from sighing as he raised his hand. “I didn’t have any problems really. Except for getting exceeding expectations, I was hoping for an outstanding. As far as review we covered the differences between ghosts and poltergeists. How ghosts were once human and can’t move objects, whereas Poltergeists were never human and can cause bodily harm by moving objects and such.” Raymond spoke before falling silent.
Hrm, rather intelligent, I see... Not to mention you seem to have a tendency to think of yourself first... I do believe this house is the perfect fit for you... Slytherin!

I can't sleep tonight. Wide awake and so confused. Everything's in line, but I am bruised. I need a voice to echo. I need a light to take me home. I kinda need a hero, is it you?

I never see the forest for the trees. I could really use your melody. Baby I'm a little blind. I think it's time for you to find me.

Monika hurried into her first class of the day, Ghoul and Ghost Studies. She had been running behind that day, still carrying her breakfast in her hand, which was a still-warm blueberry muffin. Sitting in the front row, Monika took out her textbook, wondering if they were going to have a new lecture today, since it was the first class of the year. It would most likely be review, if anything. Professor Eckstein, instead, asked if she had any questions on her OWL. She earned an EE, which wasn't perfect but still pretty good, and didn't have any serious questions to ask. "No questions from me, Professor. I enjoyed the practical part of the exam though, where we got to interview a ghost. It was quite interesting." Why she enjoyed this class, she would never fully know. Monika just found it interesting, to study and talk to people who had died. It was pretty morbid, and she seemed rather out of place in the class, but didn't mind it.

Can you be my nightingale? Sing to me, I know you're there. You could be my sanity, but bring me peace. Sing me to sleep. Say you'll be my nightingale.
