Adelaide felt sad for Cass that he had not had the chance to travel very much. "That's disappointing. But maybe you'll get a chance someday." She hoped he would; she liked Cass. Adele wondered if she should ask him for any advice on being a Prefect. She was clearly failing already, as she had yet to greet any of the first-years or answer their questions. Adele didn't particularly want to do this; she noticed fellow fifth-year Dante's disdainful looks at the new set of students and couldn't help but sympathize. He's lucky he's not a Prefect.

But Adele got her opportunity when one of the students, who had introduced himself as Ronyo, complimented Gryffindor, their rival house. She just could not allow that. "Don't be ridiculous!" she exclaimed. Realizing that, as a Prefect, she needed to restrain herself and be less rude, she added, "Sorry, getting carried-away. But you should know that they are our rivals. Slytherins and Gryffindors have never gotten along in all the years the school has existed. We don't like them and they don't like us. They're probably getting the same lecture over at the Gryffindor table, trust me."

She gave her name to the first-years and continued, "Anyway, as your Prefect I have to say it is sad that you don't want to be in Slytherin! We have produced many great witches and wizards, not all of them dark. We are known for being talented and resourceful, qualities many Gryffindors lack. You should be happy to be here!" Adelaide grinned.

Mira laughed at Cass. She liked that he just went with what she said. Looking to the first year taking the cookie,"So out of you fresh meat, who is interested in playing for the house team?" She asked, not mentioning the sport to see who had knowledge of it already. "We will be having try outs if you are interested, keep an eye out for them." Just then Dante began to hiss. Mira laughed at the reactions of the first years. Slange hearing this, slithered out of her robes to peer around at the group. "Sssssssaressssss Ahhssssaresssssssss" Mira chuckled.

At the mention of Quidditch Adele's ears perked up. "Well, I'll definitely be trying out!" she said, grinning. "But I think you know that already, Mira." Adele wished she hadn't been sick with mumblemumps when last year's try-outs had occurred. She was dying to get her chance to try out for Chaser!

"Da said I would be a pretty good beater when he threw a ball at me when I was flying and I hit the thing into a park three miles away." Drake noted with a smile a slight blush on his cheeks made his eyes turn almost golden.

He then looked over at Ronyo. " Just in case you were wondering the way you've been looking at me, It was a spell that I got hit with bout a year ago when a mad Wizard cursed me. There was a cure, but only if you seek help within a 72 hour time frame. My parents had gone on a personal vacation and I stayed with a muggle family for a week. Mum and Da came home four days after it happened. By then it was stuck that way. But I refuse to tell you the meaning of the colors." Drake said with a smile eyes now a yellow green.

Great Hall/ Slytherin Table
Ronyo Storm - Slytherin
First Year

Hearing one of the older students give him the lecture of rivalry he could not retrain his smile. He understood the rivalry between the two houses, his mother was more than talkative about the subject. She always talked about how the two houses always seemed at odds with each other, which was odd coming from the original two house creators. Despite the differences in ideas of who should be taught Salazar and Godric were friends originally, or so he would likely be told during his first History of Magic class.

"Seem like a rivalry that is only created by the current students. If I remember the two founders of the houses were in fact friends. They only differed in their ideas of who should be taught. I believe that's right, I only skimmed some of my books so far about the houses before today. I currently have a friend in Gryffindor and it really is up to each student to choose for themselves how they see the other houses I think."

Seeing that the one named Drake had somehow understood some of Ronyo's deductive reasoning and had spoken about his eyes without much of a prod to do so. The boy gave up information easily for some reason, likely to do away with rumors or possible gossip. Not a bad idea really but around a group of vipers like this giving out personal information was just feeding the fire.

"Makes you unique I think, and I won't pry into the color scheme. If you could learn to control it, it could become a useful skill, not sure how but you never know until you try."

Blaire again broke from his idle chatter as Dante began speaking the serpents' language. Parseltongue. He watched, fascinated, as a serpent wound its way over the table, hissing in response to the fifth-year.

The blonde's attention was stolen however, his eyes falling on Colby, as his friend sat beneath the sorting hat. He knew the odd boy wouldn't make it into Slytherin, but he hoped for Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, anything but..."Gryffindor!" Ugh! You've got to be kidding me. It was all Blaire could do to keep the disgust from spreading over his face. He looked at his friend, slightly burning eyes, as Colby made his way to the scarlet-and-gold-clad table. As their gazes met he mouthed, "What are you even doing here?" Colby's muggle mother had refused to let the boy attend Hogwarts. Yet here he was. And now in Gryffindor, no less.

The third Alice was a young girl, a beautiful figure in Wonderland.

Deceiving countless people, she created a strange country.

That Alice was the country's queen,
Possessed by a warped dream.

Fearing her decaying body,
she ruled from the summit of the country.

Cosette Aurelie Prewitt

Fifth Year Slytherin

Cosette shook her head disaproovingly. "Simply because he is your brother doesn't mean that you can be rude. We are Slytherins, politeness is a virtue here--a necessity, even." When the younger girl introduced herself, Cosette replied with a pleasant smile, and a nod of her head. "I am Cosette Aurelie Prewitt. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

She was alarmed to see that the crying boy was weeping tears of blood. She quickly pulled a handkerchief out of her pocket and offered it to him, crying, "Are you alright?! Do you need to be taken to the nurse?!" She tilted her head in confusion at Drake's statement. "Who is Luke?" she asked, before moving on to the root of his statement. "Who ever said we were 'mean'?" she asked, disapproval on her face. "We aren't 'mean,' we're cunning and ambitious, both of which are traits without which this world would be no where. Without ambition, nothing would ever advance. Ambition for better things helped people create new potions, write books, create spells, and make laws! And as for cunning, without it, how would anyone achieve their ambitions? Even defusing situations, as you say you do, requires cunning. You need to know how to pacify the combatants, don't you?"

She barely managed to contain a glare when Mira sat down and opened her mouth: this was exactly the kind of person that gave Slytherin house a bad name!

When the boy managed to calm himself enough to put on a face she recognized as a mask, she smiled kindly. "If there's anything you need," she told him, "don't hesitate to ask me."

She then returned to her seat, and began to serve herself food. When another first year sat down, across from the odd blond first year, she nodded in greeting and once more repeated her name, wearing her polite smile even as inwardly she shuddered at his lack of manners. She listened to the conversations as she ate, noting Vanessa's observation with approval. She only spoke up again when Adelaide began lecturing the first years on Gryffindors.

"They do have a certain...perseverance," she pointed out, partly so as not to insult Charon. "They don't give up easily. It isn't wise to underestimate people," she reminded them.

She returned to her silent contemplation as the conversation turned to Quidditch. That was one thing she'd never do, she loathed heights. Flying class in first year had been torturous for her, she wasn't going on a broom again unless it was absolutely necessary. She watched curiously, though, as Drake's eyes began to change color. His explanation of it to another one of the new students caught her ear. She started to listen, when she heard him say, "...a mad wizard cursed me..." Her smile vanished, fear flickering in her eyes. The fingers on her right hand twitched, as her left grabbed the right wrist, accompanied by a sharp intake of breath. All this took place in a matter of seconds, until she managed to slip her mask back on and clamp down on her feelings and memories, shoving them away. Her eyes did fall. as she apparently became very interested in her plate. She didn't move to take any more food, however. She had rather lost her appetite.

((Apologies for the lateness of this.

And Sailor--first years can't be on the teams.))

Drake smiled "Yeah think?" He asked cocking his head slightly. "Oh and Luke. He is over there." Drake said pointing to the boy writing in a notebook at the Hufflepuff table. He smiled and stuck his sucker back in his mouth. His eyes set in a gray again, as he waited for the ceremony to be over.

A small mew came from his hood. Drake sighed pulling a small kitten from his hood. "There happy now?" The kitten mewed again and the started purring as he laid it on his lap.

Great Hall/ Slytherin Table
Ronyo Storm - Slytherin
First Year

Ronyo looked over at a girl who had surprised him with her actual positive spin on the house. Not only positive but strikingly different from anyone else who spoke about the green and silver group. She didn't even add in a touch of dark humor to keep the sentiment of the infamous houses reputation alive. Maybe there was hope in the house yet.

Not wanting to waste an opportunity to talk with someone of his house who seemed positive towards everyone else he managed to move himself around to face the girl. Seeing that for some reason she was looking a bit on the pale and nervous side he thought best to simply introduce and make small talk.

"Ronyo Storm, how do you do good lady," Ronyo made a quick stand following chivalry and smiled at the girl, "I could not help but overhear your rather differencing opinion on the Slytherin house, so far your rendition is the best I've heard."

Draven stepped off the stool not surprised at all.She figured this would have been the house they stuck her in. Now just to break the news to dear mummy and daddy. She wasnt quiet sure how they would react when they found out she was Slytherin."Oh well. At least it's a great house. I would have hated Hufflepuff..." she mumbled to herself. Draven sat down quietly at the table. She glanced around a bit. Catching the different faces. She crossed her legs. This was the first time she was wearing a skirt so it was a little awkward for her. Draven didnt understand the crazy rumors flying around that Slytherin was the meanest house. To be frank,as she glanced down the table, they looked the happiest and cheerful compared to the others. She turned to glance at the other tables. Who were also full of life. Draven started feeling a sense of pride for her house. "Im going to like it here.."she said with a large grin.

Jessica Sassareth

Slytherin, First Year

User Image When Jessica house was declared, the pale redhead stared at the Sorting Hat on her head in utter shock and anguish, her flood of thoughts screamed at the ancient cap, Am I .... no better than my family? You.... damned hat, you .... just sent me to Hell!

Sorrow and rage flared in the pale girl's mind, as she stood up and wrenched the hat off her head. Turning slowly toward Professor Aslan, Jess' normally very pale face now flushed red, "Excuse me Professor, this is only between me and this infernal hat."

With that declaration, Jess dropped the Sorting Hat on the floor and proceeded to stomp on it. The assault lasted a few seconds, and ended with Jess grinding her heel on the old hat.

As Jess began to walk away, the Sorting Hat muttered, ".... definately.... Slytherin...."

The young pureblood turned on her heel and stomped on the old hat one more time. Then she scooped it up, dusted it off, and placed it back on the table. Jess turned toward Professor Aslan and curtsied, "Begging your pardon, Professor."

Next, Jessica Sassareth stormed over to the Slytherin table and unceremoniously sat down.

Cosette Aurelie Prewitt

Fifth Year Slytherin

Cosette was so focused on controlling herself, that she didn't notice the first year until he spoke. When he did, she jumped, and spun to look at him, her right hand twitching once more, clearly startled. She composed herself in record time, though, apologizing with, "Ah! Forgive me, I was thinking about tomorrow's classes." his words finally processed in her mind, and she smiled, nodding politely. "I am Cosette Prewitt. Thank you for your words, they are very kind." They were perfectly natural to her, though. Even if they hadn't been true, what kind of idiot confirmed the bad opinions of any new recruits?

She noticed two more female first years sitting down, raising an eyebrow at the redhead's display at the sorting hat. "If you will excuse me for a moment..." she said to Ronyo, standing and walking over to them, a very sweet smile on her face--one that signaled danger to those who knew her, despite how innocent it may have looked to others. "Welcome to Slytherin House," she said to the two girls, standing behind them, putting a hand on the redhead's shoulder. "I am Cosette Prewitt. What might your names be?" she ignored Drake's shout, though she noted it inwardly as she waited for the girls to respond.

Great Hall/ Slytherin Table
Ronyo Storm - Slytherin
First Year

Seeing the girl decide to excuse herself to attend to her other duties as prefect Ronyo had noticed the more docile tone the hall had begun to take, and likely indicated the event was dyeing down. He had already seen a few people excuse themselves and wonder off to other parts of the glorious castle. It was an idea that sounded like a good one to the newest addition to the Slytherin house. This would be a great time to wonder about the castle for a bit and get his barring down before he had to be rushing through the halls towards a class. Ronyo smiled at his table and seeing no one that was presently in conversation with him stood up and made his way out of the Great Hall, where he would end up next Ronyo was not entirely sure but that was kind of the fun of an adventure.
