The quaffle was released, immediately bouncing between Chasers before seeming to find a home with one of her own, Everly. Yarrick took aim at one of the Slytherin Chasers, which left their Seeker open for a shot. She pulled back her arm and let the bat fly, keeping Csuri in her sights.

The match started, and there was an immediate flurry of activity, as possession of the Quaffle was exchanged between the Chasers. Kas was on alert, and he quickly spotted the line-drive Yarrick sent after Hes. 'Didn't take long for this to start up,' reflected Kas, as he hustled in to try deflecting the shot away for Hes....
Unfortunately, as quick as he was, the Bludger was quicker, and it whizzed past his guard.

All last year, Hesperia had either avoided the bludgers or been saved, but her invulnerable streak was over. Kasamir went to save her but the bludger careened past him and Hes went to dodge it. The bludger had other plans and hit her in the leg, making a sickening snapping sound in her thigh. The teen cried out in pain, then grit her teeth. Her leg was definitely broken, but thankfully she could still control her broom. Despite the tears in her eyes, she pushed forward with more determination, intent on preventing Everly from reaching the goals.

Already it seemed as though the whole game plan was unraveling, as Csuri couldn't seem to spot the Snitch, and Everly was dodging everybody's best attempts to wrest the Quaffle from her. Meanwhile, Yarrick hurt herself, and Lewis was pursuing something Kas couldn't see. 'Better try slowing him down, or this match might end before Csuri can get on track.'
With an almighty 'whack', Kas sent an animated iron cannonball spinning towards the Ravenclaw Seeker...
