As the table began to fill with new house mates she straightened her self up so she could greet them like a proper head girl should. "Hello! Welcome to Gryffindor. The best house here by far" she said grinning ear to ear with confidence. "I am the head girl so if you need any help just ask me alright" she said hoping her tone came across as warm and caring. In no way did she want to seem arrogant or full of herself. After greeting she sat back down and glanced at the first years. Two boys, twins by the look of them, seemed to be worried about something. With sympathy towards them considering the fact she too is a twin she got up and moved closer to Lucas and Logan."May I join you two?" she asked making her smile as sweet as should could. The boys were young and she needed to be gentle about asking their problems☀≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎☀≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎☀

Colton told Will as he spotted the desserts. "It's sort of like a sanctuary for permanently injured animals that won't make it in the wild and other similar scenarios, so we have a few rare ones, but mostly the common beasts struck down by the tip of some jerk's wand. Hippogriffs and kneazles - you know the type." Loading his plate with a variety of fudges, he continued casually, "My mum actually coordinates with both the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes in the Ministry, and you'd be surprised at how many of the magical mishaps you hear about in the Daily Prophet result in one legged unicorns and hairless porlocks. The writers seem to leave those parts out... Maybe you could stop by this summer if you're not too busy traveling the world." With a friendly wink form his left eye, Colton bit off the edge of an odd-smelling orange fudge and swallowed it with a look of surprise. "Mmm...pumpkin." He mused, shoving the rest of the square into his mouth.
Looking to his left as he chewed, the boy raised his eyebrows when he realized Jayden had accepted his offer and was now sitting next to him. Washing his food down with a chug of pumpkin juice that complimented his dessert rather nicely, he attempted to bring the kid into the chatter at the table. "Hey Tyler, I'd like you to meet someone." The third year waved to get his superior's attention. "This is Jayden Cloud. Yes - Cloud. You might of heard of his older brother - Joshua Cloud, plays chaser for the Falmouth Falcons." Colton watched to see Jayden's reaction as he continued the introduction. "Jayden, this is Tyler Dean - Seeker and Team Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team."

Clouds come floating Into my life, No longer to carry rain Or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky. ╔══════════════╗ Aravis Rosentha Fifth Year Gryffindor Prefect ╚══════════════╝ Upon hearing the mention of dragons, Aravis had to fight down some memories. She had learned to be more forgiving, but she could never forget what the one had done to her father. At least Will knew more about what he was doing.
"Pumpkin juice actually doesn't sound that bad at the moment," Aravis admitted upon seeing her boyfriend down an entire glass of it.

►The man... The mystery... The legend...◄
He nodded as he listened to Colton talk about wounded animals living at his family farm. When the boy offered for him to come visit over the summer, Will nodded intrigued. "I'll definitely have to come by. Maybe I can help. I'm pretty good with animals, after all." When Aravis said she could go for some pumpkin juice, he filled her goblet and passed it to her. "Here you go darling." Out Of Character: ...

[Chris Halen- Gryffindor- First Year]
Christopher Halen, now a newly sorted first year, trotted up to join the Gryffindor table. He was so excited that he was practically at a loss for words, and he appeared to be shaking in his school robe with energy. The wide smile across the young boy's face also projected his excitement. What was life here like? He had taken some beginning charm classes with his parents, but that was just to get started. Chris looked around the rest of the Great Hall (though he had already done so several times already) and then to the rest of the table.
[mood- overly excited]

[Chris Halen- Gryffindor- First Year]
Enough of Christopher's attention drew to the First Year who sat down next to him; the boy jittered in his spot as he smiled and spoke.
"Hi- I'm Chris! What's your name?"
Christopher's hyper words did not 'sound British', and the boy's accent was far from it as well. In fact, he sounded like he arrived fresh out of North America even though he'd been living in Bristol for a few years already. Chris beamed to the fellow First Year Gryffindor sitting next to him all the same.

[Chris Halen- Gryffindor- First Year]
Chris nodded as he shook Evando's hand. He had noticed as well, the other boy's own accent before Columbia was mentioned. Another foreigner- what were the odds?
"I grew up in the States: Pennsylvania. Most of Dad's family lives there. Mum's from Bristol."
Chris sometimes noticed in his own speaking that 'Mum' was one of the only words of his that sounded anything like 'British', and he laughed some. He was, after all, still overflowing with energy, and he could see that Evando didn't have nearly as much trouble sitting still.
"Nice to meet 'ya!"

Evando Rivera Junior
First Year - GryffindorInteresting how Chris' parents came from almost two sides of the world, Evando wanted to ask how they met or at least where, but he thought that may be a bit personal for their first conversation. Instead he resigned to changing the subject toward their near future, “So, what kind of -” He stopped talking and turned his head over to a loud thud toward the Slytherin table. It sounded like someone had fallen heavily off their chair, but the cause of the fall was clear once one boy struck the other. Evando tapped Chris, just to make sure he was watching the spectacle. “Hey, aren't you glad you aren't in that house? Well at least not sitting beside those two.” He shook his head, fighting was rarely necessary to him, especially if you have to go back and live with that person. He made a point to remember what the two kids looked like, just to make sure he knew to stay away from them in the future. “On the first day too, wonder what that says about their future and that House.”

[Chris Halen- Gryffindor- First Year]
As Chris turned in his seat, he gasped along with probably a fourth of the people around them. He stared over at the Slytherin table. What in the world-? Chris then glanced back to Evando for a moment and uttered nervously in agreement.
"Y-yeah... I wonder what they were talking about."
Christopher took another look around the Great Hall. How often did this kind of thing happen, especially among so many people?
[mood- startled, mostly excited]

"There is no need to fear me" she said scooting back a little to give him space. Levana's attention was pulled towards the Slytherin table. Eyes rolled in her head as she saw a fight break out. Dante, Charon's friend rather forcibly broke them up. Speaking of Charon she looked about for him but did not see him. This worried her a little but she would no if he was alright later. For now she had to focus on helping her own house mates. "Slytherin's, so immature" she said with her eyes rolling to Lucas. Perhaps this would calm him.☀≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎☀≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎☀

☽═━┈━┈━═☾ Anyanka Swan Headmistress ☽═━┈━┈━═☾ With the conclusion of Sorting, Headmistress Anyanka Swan rose from her seat at the Staff Table and approached the podium. The owl on the podium spread its wings, ushering the students to be quiet. Once the hall fell into silence, she began. "To all of our new students, I say welcome. To all of our returning students, I say welcome back. Our time spent here together is the most cherished time you will have. Take light in the fact that through our hardest time, solace can be had with a few kind words. And remember students what a wise man once said, he said, 'help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who need it.' And so, with that, we welcome our new students to our ranks and may the Welcoming Feast begin!" As she finished her speech, the food of the Welcoming Feast began. ⇨{Out of Character}⇦
