[GRP] Silky Slime Laboratory: Meriko's Workstation

Unaware that her august status has agitated any of the slimes, Meriko continued mixing up batches of solution and feeding her various experimental slimes with eyedroppers or replacing empty food dishes with new, full ones.

Squishy sat by the petri dish, calmly chewing away at his coconut flake. He paused long enough to catch the eyes of the visiting slimes and flick his eyes from them to the candy and back again in a silent invitation to come and chow down, and then went back to grazing, this time pulling a brown flake from the mound.

Serene hadn't been fed anything but liquids and the odd bit of starch as of yet, and so the mound of multicolored...stuff...seemed a bit intimidating. What if it made her turn funny colors? Perhaps she could eat a pink one without any harm.

Glancing to one side she noticed a black slime next to her, apparently eating without any ill effect.

"Is it good?" she asked, without any preamble.

Appetite overcame apprehension, and she bounced a bit closer to the dish - and the dark slime - to cautiously pull off a pink piece of coconut and start munching. As her mouth was full when Griever asked his question, she was unable to disgust dazzle him with her usual puffed up introduction and merely bounced up and down a couple of times to indicate "yes." She also cut her eyes over to the grassy habitat nearby to indicate that as being her spot.

Hey, this stuff was gooood. She continued chewing happily, overcome by her first ever sugar rush.

Squishy was making serious inroads into the section before him, and carefully hoisted himself half onto the slightly turned-up edge of the petri dish to get into better flake-nabbing position.

(ooc: Cassi, this stuff is mana from slime heaven. XD)

Serene felt good. Serene felt great. Serene felt like she'd burst soon, either literally or into song. The first bit of candy was so good that she just threw herself into the dish and planted her face into the side of the flake-mountain.

"Mmmmm! Mmm! MMMMMMMwaaahmmwammmohmmmmhmhmhmmm!"

Hearing very strange noises, Squishy began edging around the side of the petri dish to see what was going on over there on the other side of the coconut pile, but did not get far. Having finished the evening feed, Meriko came back to see how the coconut candy had gone over, and the playful slime-manhandling urge came over her yet again.

"Are you guys enjoying the candy?" she asked, smiling at the adorable sight of the slimes crowded together. She picked up Squishy by pressing him between the fingertips of her two hands and then proceeded to...well, squish Squishy.

"You're going to pop if I don't stop feeding you junk," she teased, mashing him out of his usual rotund shape as if to test his density.

Still intent on finding out what the noises meant, Squishy squirmed out of her grasp, squeezing away like a pancake and then regaining his proper shape with a nearly inaudible "poip" as he got free and then fell to the countertop. He glanced back at his owner once and then continued his circuit of the petri dish.

(ooc: *is cracking up over the thought of the future disillusionment of Griever if he should ever experience the full force of Serene's narcissism*)

Squishy made it around to his lab-mate's side and then stopped and watched for a moment as the shimmery slime gorged herself. Muffled mmm's came from the coconut pile where she had her face planted. After a few more seconds ticked by, Squishy bounced over and without any preamble, butted into the pale pink slime, knocking her away from the pile and back onto the counter.

Serene fell on her back and rolled a couple of times before bopping back to her base. She gave herself a quick shake, a bit dizzy on top of being high on sugar, and said solemly,

"Whee. Whoa?"

And then she burst into giggles and began rolling around.

Squishy looked at Griever when questioned, but there wasn't an opportunity for response as Meriko suddenly leaned her elbows on the counter and took a closer look at her newest slime's antics.

"What's going on?" she asked, frowning a bit.

Squishy rotated around to look up at his owner, intending to draw her attention to the fact that the shiney was totally smashed on C12H22O11. Meriko's attention, however, was directed there by Serene herself. The shimmering little drunk giggled and rolled and then tumbled right off the counter.

"SERENE!" Meriko shrieked.

A cardboard box full of tiny, parchment-color slimes suddenly began emitting a chorus of mews and wails.

(ooc: This is what happens when Meriko has time to RP. Things get flushed down the toilet sooner or later. XD I'm a sadist. You've been warned.)

Oh my gosh! Oh, darn it! Um...CRAP!

"Squishy, go calm the babies!" Meriko said quickly, and scooped Squishy up in one hand. A few long strides brought her to the cardboard box on a nearby countertop along a wall, and she carefully nestled Squishy down in the middle of the crowd of forlornly wailing slimelets.

Meriko then dashed around to the far side of the island and dropped to her knees to search for the fallen slime. Thankfully the glimmery nature of Serene helped in the search.

Serene was still giggling.

Meriko blinked a few times and then sighed, half in relief and half in...something else. She carefully scooped the jiggling slime up in her hands and then gently set her down on the island again. The middle of the island, far from any edges that might leap up and claim the pink slime for their own. The Research and Development tech then hunkered down to slime level and stared, searching for any damage.

"You all right, Serene?" she asked, not really expecting much of an answer.
