Potions - A
While Elsie was always good with knowing ingredients for potions, her potions themselves, when completed, were always lackluster and occasionally sloppy because of her being easily distracted and mixing up things like amounts and how many times it needed to be stirred. She enjoyed the subject anyhow, but didn't push herself too much on it, and received an Acceptable on her exam. She was slightly disappointed with this grade, but not really surprised.
Transfiguration - EE
This class never came easily to Elsie, and she had to really buckle down and study to ensure she did well on the exam, as she considered it important. While she still made mistakes, they were minor and she got an Exceeds Expectations, to her delight.
DADA - EE
Elsie was worried about doing poorly on this exam. The practical aspect of DADA had never gone too well for her, and had impacted her homework assignments as well because she couldn't perform the spells properly. She found that joining the Dueling Club had helped her with DADA, and she was more confident, which made her less nervous, and thus far less likely to be anxious and make stupid mistakes. She was immensely proud of her Exceeds Expectations score.
Astronomy - EE
Elsie always liked this class, even if she was constantly nodding off to sleep in, being far from a night owl. While she often found learning the more concrete facts about the plants tedious, she persisted, knowing there was no reason for her to do badly on the exam except out of laziness. She was happy with her Exceeds Expectations.
Herbology - A
Despite being a Hufflepuff, Elsie never had any love of plants. It wasn't that she minded getting dirty, she just didn't really like working with the various plants. She didn't hate it, either, and she always did fairly well on her homework, but on the actual exam she just wanted to get it over with and only got an Acceptable.
Alchemy - A
Elsie was intrigued by the subject at first, but as the years went on lost her interest in it and knew she'd never pursue it outside of school, even though she learned a lot of useful things in the class. She knew she was going to end up dropping it and didn't really care what she got on the exam. Her Acceptable didn't bother her.
Study of Ancient Runes - EE
While not her favorite class, Elsie still enjoyed it a lot and worked hard. She was hoping to maybe get an O, but she knew she probably wasn't that skilled with runes. Exceeds Expectations was more than enough for her.
Ghost and Ghoul Studies - EE
This class proved extremely interesting to Elsie. She especially enjoyed interviewing a ghost for her exam. Call it morbid curiosity, but she always wanted to hear the tales of these dead people's lives and their ends. Because she actually found the class fun, and managed to stay awake in most of the time, even though it was at night, she received an Exceeds Expecations.
