Characters Involved: Selina Grey
Usernames of each character, respectively: Graydon Ironshield
Have each of the above listed members fully agreed to the following plot?: Yes
What is your plot idea? Please explain in great detail: Selina owns and uses a set of genuine tarot cards, as she was taught the basics of how to read them by her grandmother, Mother Grey. She is not a Seer (at least not as defined by the Guild), nor is her grandmother, but a budding diviner. The idea here is for the character to receive the occasional bit of insight. This could come up if another student asks her to do a reading for them, or if the crew wishes to push a Guild plot along a certain direction. Since she isn't all that skilled, having a measure of talent, and hasn't taken Divination class, this shouldn't come up all that often. As a diviner, she might suggest a possible event to come, or answer a question about an event which has already come to pass.
When do you plan for this idea to go into effect? Whenever the crew wishes to inject a Guild plot.
What are the idea's drawbacks? (e.g. Does anyone get killed? Is Hogwarts going to have to suffer? etc.) One hopes nothing awful will happen.
Why are you interested in doing this idea? Character development. What she does with the knowledge will be of interest. As rule, a responsible fortune teller won't tell somebody they're going to die (for example) as this could result in a 'self-fulfilling prophecy'. However telling them to be wary of something would be appropriate.
Anything else you would like to share about this idea? Selina is a budding cartomancer. Though she has not taken the Divination class (and can't until third year), she was taught the basics by her grandmother (whom is a gifted diviner (not a 'Seer' in Guild terminology)) how to read tarot cards, and she does own a set of tarot cards which are attuned to her, and consults them periodically.
