- ■ Dori never really cared overmuch for this class; it was interesting enough, he supposed, but he would much rather be doing magic or sleeping than attend this particular lesson so late at night. However, it was a fairly easy class, all things considered; all you had to do was remember the information correctly, and you'd pass. So, while he didn't manage a spectacular score, he was perfectly content that he did well enough on the exam to pass, and hopefully to satisfy his parents.

- ■ This is one of Dori's best lessons; the magic, he finds, is not nearly as complex as some other branches, and he considers it to be extremely practical. He focused a fair amount of energy on studying for this particular exam, and with his natural aptitude was able to score an O.
xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ Axxx
- ■ While Dori would like to say that he is excellent at this lesson, the fact remains that he struggles with it to some degree. He puts forth a lot of effort into doing well, and so is rewarded with a decent performance. However, he was unprepared for the practical; boggarts, he finds, are not one of his strong suits. Had it not been for that, he might have managed an Exceeds Expectations, but this portion of the exam brought his score down to an A.
xxxHERBOLOGY ~ EExxx
- ■ Dori is not, in general, particularly good at this lesson. Really, when he first started Hogwarts, he likely would have failed this exam, simply because he was utter rubbish at caring for the plants and only slightly better at remembering how he was supposed to be doing so. However, with his adoption into the Aconite pack, he decided it was in his best interests to improve his skills, namely so that his new Alpha wouldn't murder him for forgetting to water some ferns. While he's still not quite as good as he would like, he did manage an EE on the exam.
xxxHISTORY OF MAGIC ~ Axxx
- ■ Even magic could not make history interesting for Dori; it was all well and good for the first couple of years, he supposed, but when compared to the cool factor of getting to cast actual magic, learning about magical history simply couldn't compete. He never fell asleep in the lesson, but you'd be hard pressed to find a set of notes that hadn't been covered in doodles. Or that were easy to follow, really. But, he was determined not to fail any of his exams, and he's never been a dumb kid. His brains were basically the only thing that saved him, and he was quite pleased to've earned an Acceptable.
xxxPOTIONS ~ Oxxx
- ■ Were you to look at Dori's performance in Potions his first year, you'd think this would've been a struggle, and that he'd be lucky to scrape by with an A. However, his condition, and the fact that a monthly Wolfsbane Potion was the only thing keeping him in his right state of mind, ensured that he studied almost obsessively for this particular exam. It took a lot of hard work to overcome his usual hyperactive impatience, but he absolutely refused to do poorly on this exam. Thankfully, the potion brewed for the practical was an easy one, and the forced studying earned him an O.
xxxTRANSFIGURATION ~ Axxx
- ■ Dori really, desperately wanted to be good at this lesson. It was supposed to be difficult, and it certainly was; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to get it just right. Unsure of his ability and unwilling to risk causing harm (he's furry once a month, he really felt for that kitten), he opted out of the practical. He also did lackluster on the written exam, and so barely managed to pass with an A.

xxxCARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES ~ Oxxx
- ■ Of all his electives, this turned out to be the one that Dori found the most interesting in the long run. He always liked animals, and thoroughly enjoyed learning about all the different types of magical creatures. He did have some difficulty with some of the lessons, mostly because the creatures could smell or sense that he wasn't wholly human, but this just lead to him trying harder to learn how to properly interact with them. Luckily, the practical for the exam wasn't hindered by his condition, and he did exceptionally well on the written portion.
xxxCURSEBREAKING ~ Axxx
- ■ This ended up being a situation rather similar to Transfiguration. Dori wanted very badly to do well, but he found that this particular branch of magic was rather difficult for him. Dedication to performing well and a stubborn refusal to fail is all that kept him going, and he managed to get an A.
xxxGHOUL AND GHOST STUDIES ~ Oxxx
- ■ Dori found this lesson almost as interesting as Care of Magical Creatures; there was a small issue of it taking place at night, meaning that sometimes he was a bit too tired to pay attention, but overall he greatly enjoyed the lesson so this generally made up for it. What he missed in the actual lesson, he generally tried to learn on his own outside of class, because he found it so interesting. He also found it easier to stay awake in the class than in Astronomy because of a somewhat odd smell lingering, the source of which he thinks is the professor, but he couldn't exactly ask the cause. His fascination with the subject and dedication earned him an O on the exam.
xxxWANDLESS MAGIC PRACTICE CLASS ~ EExxx
- ■ Dori desperately wanted to do well in this lesson; of everything he learned at Hogwarts, he believes that it is the single most practical lesson he had, and can't fathom why it is only an elective. Terrified of being caught without his wand and being powerless, he channeled an exceptional amount of energy into the study of Wandless Magic, and in learning to focus well enough to be able to actually do it. Having to focus so hard in Potions helped with this somewhat, and the normally easy-to-distract boy found himself having a much easier time in the class than expected. While not perfect, his performance was at least better than average, and he earned a Exceeds Expectations as a result.
xxxWANDLORE STUDIES ~ Axxx
- ■ This was a course Dori took simply because it sounded interesting; being a muggleborn and utterly fascinated by magic, it was only natural that he would like to learn about wands. However, it was unable to hold his attention the way that his other elective courses did, and so he found himself slacking off ever so slightly as a result. While he studied well enough to pass, he didn't put in enough effort to get any sort of impressive grade.
