xxxASTRONOMY ~ Axxx
- ■ Harmony had spent many nights on the Solus with Aire, looking at constellations, and enjoying stories that Aire made about the stars. The issue, was Harmony had mixed some of the truths with lies about the stars, only scraping by with an acceptable. Well, the examiner probably enjoyed hearing the false stories, gave them a change of pace from the boring things they had to read. x
xxxCHARMS ~ Axxx
- ■ Harmony was decent at charms. Particularly charms they used as pranks. Changing colors of things was a particular favorite of hers, or turning the lights off and using lumos to brighten the room from a small little corner. She probably would have done better, if she had just...paid attention during class instead of trying to make Aire laugh the entire time.
xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ Axxx
- ■ Harmony enjoyed most of the things they discussed in DADA, but she couldn’t be bothered to deeply study (other than when Aire forced her to). She didn’t trust dark creatures well, sometimes squids just gave one that fear. She did however notice threats pretty quickly, and could react to defend herself or others (pranks? One always had to be on guard). She did rather enjoy that a squid appeared when she had to face a boggart, squids couldn’t breathe on land that in itself was ridiculous.
xxxHERBOLOGY ~ Axxx
- ■Herbology reminded Harmony of home, friends, the land. She often hung out with Vera while Vera was working in the apothecary, she thrived on the smell of the herbs. However, Harmony lacked in handling the herbs. She knew how to handle the plants once they were harvested, how to properly store them for example. However, she wasn’t great at caring for the plants, things would rather die than let her grow them. When she was on the ship, she only knew one thing - don’t touch the plants they were off limits.
xxxHISTORY OF MAGIC ~ Txxx
- ■ History was the worst class, although Aire was right it was a pretty good napping class. Harmony wasn’t sure what she had done in History, she watched Aire doodle a lot, and took naps, but that was about it. When it came time for the exam Harmony felt she was reading gibberish. What were these events? She wasn’t going to need history as a ship captain, what was the point? She doodled on her scroll and made a nice ship flag for the exam grader to look at (and failed her exam after answering none of the questions)
xxxPOTIONS ~ Oxxx
- ■ Harmony was thrown into potions early at Hogwarts, when Aire rearranged the potions storeroom. If anything, she at least knew some of the ingredients and knew of the wide variety of potions there were. She was curios at that point, and went into an individual study about potions, growing her to be a better potioneer and cook. After spending time with the ship’s healer, she could self-identify many healing potions, and could usually have an idea of what went into potions (and food).
xxxTRANSFIGURATION ~ Pxxx
- ■ Transfiguration made for great pranking material, and was always there if needed. She could explain most things, and managed to do decent on the written, however when she got to the practical portion of the exam, she realized that Aire was the pro at transfiguring, Harmony only came up with the ideas. She grumbled as she gloriously failed her practical.

xxxCARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES ~ EExxx
- ■ Harmony had only enrolled in the creatures class so she would have some idea of all the creatures that were being discussed on the ship, it was important for the future Captain to know what they were looking for. She hadn’t been super interested, especially after looking ahead in the textbook and realizing there was no discussion of “leg-eating squids,” but as the years went on, she realized this was pretty exciting, and she could have interactions with the crew of the ship!
xxxGHOUL AND GHOST STUDIES ~ Oxxx
- ■ Harmony was pretty sure she was only in Ghoul and Ghost studies because she’d checked an extra box or something when signing up for electives. She thought she would be bored just talking to ghosts or something, but got a thrill out of learning how spells interacted with the dead. Bonus points: she knew which types of undead could be beat with a leg and which could be beat with a spell, so be wary all yah sea ghosts!
xxxHEALING ~ EExxx
- ■ Healing was awful. It hadn’t worked to keep her leg, and there were still so many health issues at sea that magic didn’t fix. She had taken Healing out of spite, if anything to just have a basic knowledge of healing practices for the ship in the future. In the last year, she and Aire helped each other study–Aire was stubbornly insistent she “redeem her score”--and Harmony was kind of just swept along. As time went on, her potions and charm work in healing were done better than average, and she was able to direct others what they should be doing. Harmony hadn’t realized it until after her OWLs, but she really had started to shine in healing. (EE rather than Outstanding, due to her first 2 years of slacking before the Aire bootcamp.)
.
- ■ Aire loved music, and Harmony thought Aire was joking about how much work it would be. Harmony tried, but why did she need to know all the theory of music? She just wanted to sing sea-shanties, maybe play the occasional music. Theory was awful to remember, and as such she did pretty badly on the OWL.
xxxSTUDY OF ANCIENT RUNES ~ Oxxx
- ■ Harmony had seen a bit of Runes from the cursebreakers on board but had been pretty ambivalent until she tried her hand at it. She had no idea how Professor Powell was so boring in History and so fascinating in Runes–it wasn’t him probably! It was just…history was just a better napping environment? She was always awake and alert in Runes though!. This last year was particularly exciting with Aire in her class as well– they compared translations on things, wrote secret messages in runes. (You know, maybe that was why her runes were great–because she was often passing notes in runes during history!) She whizzed through the OWL exam confidently and by the time she looked up, she was finished with the exam a full 15 minutes early.
