A dream I had the other night: the girl {Amy} is delusional and slightly insane. I have no idea why she wants to apologize to Gregory, or who Gregory even is for that matter {but he's pwetty... ^-^'}. Should I continue with the story??? {I'll make a beginning later, I promise.} This is just a little preview of what I have down so far.
Slamming the door, Amy wasted no time getting into her car. She needed to confront Gregory now so that the guilt of her words earlier would go away. Amy once again reached into her pocket and grabbed the little slip of paper. 11 Lavender Lane. She memorized the address, repeating it over and over in her head. Finally confident that she could do this, she put the keys in the ignition and skillfully backed out of her driveway, leaving the comforts of home behind. The darkened scenery flew by too fast for her likes, but she didn’t care anymore. All she wanted to see was Gregory. Before long, she was in a classy-looking neighborhood with lots of pretty little houses that seemed to fit in more with a soap opera than with the rest of this rundown city. The farther down she drove, the larger the houses got. Until, eventually, she reached the very end, Lavender Lane. The houses here were more like mansions, most with three stories and little picturesque fountains located in the front yards. Amy drove slowly now, attempting to make out the house numbers in the darkness. Then there it was, 11 Lavender Lane. The Zambury mansion looked like an oversized cottage, complete with a round, gated driveway that circled around a large fountain. The lanterns on the open gates were even lit, almost as though they had expected someone to come at this late hour. Parking, Amy ran out of her car towards the house, feeling utterly out of place. She yanked the intricate bronze knocker three times, letting it slam down on the door. Immediately she heard footsteps running down the stairs and the door opened briskly, revealing Gregory’s middle sister whose name Amy had forgotten. Her eyebrows lifted in surprise; obviously she had been expecting someone else. She nervously ran her hand through her thickly-curled ebony hair. “Hi… I’m afraid you have the wrong house, sorry,” she stated with honest sympathy while rocking back and forth on her toes. “Oh, I’m sorry, we’ve never met before. I’m Amy Goodchild, Gregory’s girlfriend… at least I think I am,” she wasn’t exactly sure what to believe anymore. She hoped she wasn’t having another delusion again. Then again, she usually never had those about Gregory. He was one of the few people in life she was positive truly existed. There was no way she could have imagined up someone like him. “Gregory…” the girl stopped her rocking and stood rigid in the doorway, unsure of what to say next. “It’s been three years since he’s been here. He must really hate people; I’m surprised he even managed to get a girlfriend, no offense…. I’m Eliza, by the way. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” “Do you know where I might be able to find Gregory?” Amy inquired, slightly annoyed that Gregory wasn’t where she expected him to be. Eliza visibly shook with exuberance. “I could drive you to where he is if you don’t mind. Although he’ll probably be pissed off at me for doing so. I’ll be right back,” And with that, Eliza slammed the door and disappeared from sight. Amy had to wonder if she really would come back. And then a new thought popped into her mind: was Eliza even old enough to drive? The girl honestly only looked thirteen at most. But that really didn’t matter anyway, Amy was willing to have even a newborn drive her all over god knows where as long as it would help her to finally clear her guilty conscience.
Surprisingly, the door did open again and Eliza popped right back out with energy that was unbefitting of the late hour. She appeared to have changed out of her pajamas and had her hair pulled back into a loose ponytail now. She only had to glance once at Amy’s dent-filled Dodge Neon and quickly dart into her garage.
“We’re taking my car; I really don’t trust yours,” she chirped as she skipped along to the shiny, red Corvette.
