My room is a definition of myself.
You walk in and you're immediately looking around yourself.
I experience it everytime I walk in there.
My room is full of danger, wonder, and surprise.
Danger? You wonder what's dangerous about my room?
You have not obviously looked under the bed or in the far reaches of my closet or in my wardrobe. Ok, maybe not IN my wardrobe. Maybe just the wardrobe itself.
Pictures hang from every nook and cranny of my room, quotes from long dead famous people, and alive people litter one wall. There are important words to me everywhere.
Photographs, comics, calenders, fish.
Yes. Fish.
There are fish on my wall. Not I-caught-this-fish-in-that-one-famous-ocean-or-lake-or-whatever, but paper fish stuffed with cotton to look 3-D. There are brochures, and playbills, and different cast listings. There are music lyrics and drawings, maps and stories, Star Wars and godknowswhatelse.
Then on my dresser and in/on my bookshelves and desks, there are more pictures, sporks, Star Wars, tennis rackets, books, figurines, and boxes containing memories of far off places and other such things.
My room is bright. Cluttered. Full of life.
It's not messy, no, it's really not, it's just full of things.
Merlin sits and squeaks constantly. Mr. Turdz dives off his rock. Beanie sits and yawns on my bed.
My room is a defintion of myself because it has no definition.
There are too many things, it's not dark, girly, preppy, germophobish, it's me.
Someday when I have a house, it will be full of things to look at.
Because when you have a room, it's not about style, it's about personality.
It's about memories. It's about looking around and knowing that good things and bad things have happened to you.
It's about looking around and remembering the guinea pigs eating Ruby Version, it's about Merlin crapping on your shirt, it's about getting stuck in a chair, it's about Dorian and me playing horses and other plastic animals, it's about Honestly escaping and attacking Beanie, it's about the Thistle shrine and how sometimes you don't want to let go, it's about home.
My room is everything and yet one thing at the same time.
It's my room.
