Freeforums only made one backup of all the files from June, and that was corrupted when they tried to upgrade.
Idiots.
So the forum is now gone. I will rebuild it and send those morons a nasty letter.
When you're handling important files, you should have at least two backups, not just one! And "of sorry, just start from scratch okay?" is NOT an appropriate apology for losing everyone's work!
