Okay, so my friend kang_roo ended up not being able to go (her parents didn't like the idea of her staying overnight in Winnipeg away from home), but A.E.R.I.O.N and I still had a blast! The dealer's room was chock full of awesome anime/manga goodness, and even though I went in with $126.36, I came out broke and owing my mom 14 cents (and that's AFTER A.E.R.I.O.N gave me the $1.50 in change she didn't want).
We didn't get to go on the scheduled mall runs (all the people either missed it/were late/didn't know to look for us, and we had no clue who we were looking for, either), but next year they will try and organize it better, so that's good. 3nodding And I'm already gathering my materials and patterns for making my Axel costume (from Kingdom Hearts 2, for those who don't know). I have the pleather for the jacket, a pattern and instructions I found on a very handy site (if you'd like to see it, PM me and I'll find it again for you), the basic supplies needed to make Axel's chakrams using my chosen tutorial, and my Axel plushie (which I got from this year's Ai-Kon) for inspiration and moral support. x3
It's gonna be one heck of an eleven months' wait for the next Ai-Kon.
Yours in anime goodness,
-Lisa the otaku mushroom.
