It was Zephiel who first pointed the enemy out to Dante. He raised his finger up, towards a very small speck on a mountainside. "There they are." He said, smiling evilly--But not cynically like Jareth. "How do you know, Zephiel?" he asked, squinting and raising a hand to his orehead to block the sunlight. "Not only can I see them quite clearly, I can hear, smell and sense them. I'm sure the rest of the Order can as well." Dante tried to look harder. He could see them, just not clearly at all. Almost as though he was looking through warped glass at the enemy soldiers. "There are so many of them... How do all of you stay calm at time like this?" He asked Zephiel. He noticed that his father had fallen back to talk with Raven quietly, and Dante payed no heed. "We, even you, are superior in every way to these soldiers. They don't stand a chance against half of us. And knowing these humans, they will try to surround us in a tactical manner. Look," He turned his head to look back at the rest of the Order. Some cavaliers and archers veered off to each side swiftly, quickly redering themselves invisible behind hills and trees. "This is our most common battle formation against weaker foes. We are not a very large army, but our raw strength is not to be trifled with. For someone like Glen or Jareth, this army could be destroyed by themselves with a little quick thinking. "Is my father really that powerful?" Dante asked, skeptical. Zephiel laughed under his breath. "He could rip an army that size limb from limb three times before even breaking a sweat. Have you seen the scar across his nose?" Zephiel was speaking of the most prominent scar on his brother's face, jutting under both eyes and across the bridge of his nose. "Yes. Why is it relevant?" "That is his only scar from fighting a band of vampires thrice as large as the Order. In fact, he was ambushed and caught by suprise." He drove his horse a little closer to Dante's, and leaned in close. "Your father is much more frightening on the battlefield than anywhere else. You'll see. We all are"
