this is a story im writing, based on the rp im on! it takes place 6 years in the future
A young girl sat at her desk, a blank piece of paper in front of her and a pencil in her hand. Tears ran down her cheeks to spatter onto the blank paper. She crumpled the paper and got a new one, wiping her tears away.
“Come on, Emma! You can write a simple goodbye letter!” the girl told herself.
Emma put her pencil to the paper and started to write. Once she was done, she read the letter and nodded, smiling. “Perfect,” she murmured. Emma spread her white wings in the open window, as she shouldered her small pack. She looked back at her room. It was small; it held only a bed, desk and shelf for her things. A door led to small bathroom. It had been her home since she was 10, now she was 14.
When stepped onto the window sill and jumped out, her wings supporting her. She flew out into the gathering darkness, her black outfit matching the sky. Her long white hair fluttered behind her as she left behind the only home where she had ever felt wanted…
Six young adults walked into the small house, joking and laughing.
“Lucy, I did not think that you would actually be able to throw that guy across the room!” Sari laughed.
“Key, did that chick give you her number or what?” Zero laughed.
“Zero, you know that I always get the girls!” Keiran smiled conceitedly.
“Ya, but they always end up dumping you in the end,” Asvoria said, hiding a smile.
Galvin hurried to the bottom of the stairs. “Emma!” he called up. “Come on down! We got dinner!” When he got no answer he frowned and walked up the stairs. He stood outside her door and knocked.
“Emma, I know you’re mad at us for not taking you, but you need to come out now…” Sari said, standing next to Galvin.
They looked at each other, frowning, and opened the door.
“Emma-” Galvin stopped before he said anything else, seeing the room entirely empty but for the desk, bed, and shelf. He looked around the room and saw the open window. He rushed to it. “EMMA!” He cried, frantic now.
“Galvin…” Sari whispered. Galvin spun around to see his friend holding a sheet of paper in her hand and tears flowing down her cheeks. She looked up, her eyes deep pools of sadness. “She gone…” she whispered, collapsing onto her knees.
Galvin helped Sari down the stairs, his friend in frantic tears. “Why? Why would she leave? We tried to give her everything she needed! And now she’s gone! Why?” Sari sobbed.
Galvin sighed. “I don’t know. Emma was always a free spirit. One thing I know, though, is that we have to find her somehow!”
Sari sat down at the kitchen table, where As, Zero, Lucy, and Key sat as well, all of them looking confused.
“It’s Emma…” Galvin murmured his voice hard. “She’s gone.”
It took a little while to calm everyone down. Once he did, Galvin started reading the letter he held.
“‘My friends,
I know I have disappointed you all, and I know this may be hard for you to understand, but I needed to leave. It’s been six years since we escaped from the lab, each of us different from the person we were when we entered. Sari, you have always been like a sister to me. You were 15 when we first met, and now you’re 21. Zero, you always made me laugh when I needed to most. You were also 15 when met, and now you’re 21. As, you’re as quiet as they come, but you were the one who taught me how to fight. You were 16 when we met, now you’re 22. Key, my big brother! I was the one who had to teach you how to forgive and forget. You were 17 when we met, and now you’re 23. Lucy, we may not get along, but you cared for me as much as anyone else. You were 17 when we met, as well. Now you’re 23. And Galvin. I don’t know what to say to you, my friend. You let me be myself around you. You didn’t push me away when all you wanted was some space. It seems like you were 17 just yesterday, and now you’re 23! We were all injected with a different animals DNA, As, you got snow fox; Key, you got fruit bat; Sari, snowy owl; Zero, fox; Lucy, bat; Galvin, wolf; and me, sparrow. We each got powers, and we have been trying to use those powers for good. I know you must think I’m an unappreciative idiot, but I know that there are others out there you haven’t told me about! I can’t help it is you don’t want to tell me about my lost memory, but I have to know who, or what, I am. I know you want to come after me, but, please, just listen to this one last wish of mine: don’t come after me! I need to do this on my own… I love you all, and I’ll always remember you.

Emma.’ Oh, Emma…” Galvin sobbed once, the collapsed into the chair Lucy had pulled up for him. Tears ran down his cheeks, and he shook with rage and sadness. Emma had meant so much more to him than just a friend. He had to find her, no matter what her letter said!
“Emma…” As whispered, in shock.
Zero and Sari clung to each other, crying like babies. Key held Lucy in his arms as she cried. “We have to find her!” he said.
Galvin and As nodded, determined to get their friend back! Emma had only been 8 when the scientists had injected her with her sparrow DNA, and that had left some after-effects on her. They could barely get her out of the sky, let alone go to school and hide her wings!
Sari finally stopped sobbing long enough to tell them all, “We need to pack. We’re going to find our kid!”
Everyone shouted their agreement and went straight to their rooms to pack. It was past 12 a.m. by the time they were all done and got out the door.
Emma…My Emma…Don’t worry. We’re coming! The thought raced through Galvin’s head as he spread his shadow wings and jumped into the darkness he loved so much.
