I'm in, as you can see from the title, a state of shock--- I just finished reading the HP book about 2 hours ago and man am I surprised, upset, angry, amazed... confused... take your pick of words.
*SPOILERS FOR HP6, DON'T READ ANY MORE!!!*
Holy gosh! When I started reading it, I had it pegged... I guessed the the half-blood prince was on page 193 already, though my mind had other thoughts to who it was along the way, and I knew that SOMEONE would die by the end of the book.
I had suspotions of snape since the 1st book, hell who wouldn't!!! I knew he was evil s**t since about the 3rd book, though I also had major crushes on the people he was being a jerk too, and I knew the we were going to learn much more about Tom in this book.
I didn't realise that snape would actually KILL someone that he was so close to, or seemed to be. and I didn't believe that, it you had to choose one or the other, I would end up feeling sorry for draco by the end of the book. I also didn't suspect ONCE that Tom wouldn't make any appearence in this book. I was waiting all along for Tom to show up. I thought he would give the finishing blow to our poor, poor headmaster.
Now that I have finished this book, I find a ever growing hatred for snape for killing AD and for being just as responcible for James and Lily's death as Wormtail is--- If I had that very information that Dumbledore had on snape, hating JAmes and lily, listening in on the prophecy, claiming he was sorry... I wouldn't have believed him for an instant... He would have been in Azkaban before anyone could blink--- thats not to say that dumbledore is stupid--- he said himself that hecould make mistakes and that his mistakes were usually quite large compared to others.
I find that Draco isn't all bad--- poor kid. Moaning Myrtle(sp?) had seen that he had something inside him that wasn't all bad--- Harry had whitnessed it twice, and yet, the death eaters came only moments too early... draco was almost ready to switch sides to the good side--- I still have hope, I bet you anything that draco will become the deciding factor in harry's survival-- I don't quite know how--- but he'll be there.
I feel ever so sorry for dumbledore, he had placed far too much faith in Snape and he knew it--- that was his weakness, having hope in even the darkest of people. Though he didn't seem to show that for Voldemort... which surprised me because snape and Tom are so much alike. Pure-blood mothers and muggle fathers, hating their sir-names to the point of making up new nicknames "Lord Voldemort" and "The Half-Blood Prince" --- I don't know why but JK stating this in the book made me wonder if some how this will not go away and there will be something interesting about this in the 7th book...
Comments and theories? PM me or leave a comment in my journal ^^
