The new ending for Chrono crusade…
Azmaria stared in shock at the site before her, rosette and Chrono…dead. The nuns on either side of her weeped at the realization; it was hard to believe they were gone. Azmaria went up to her two companions, who were by her side and protected her for so long…and looked closely at rosette’s watch, it was motionless; the clock had stopped ticking. The girl was over come with dread as she fell to her knees and cried. Her friends were gone, they were really gone…and she didn’t even get the chance to say good bye. “rosette…Chrono… why did you have to die?!” she sobbed, covering her face with her hands; after all you worked for, after everything you’ve been through…just when you finally brought back Joshua…you cant just die! She looked back up at her friends; so peaceful in their eternal sleep, on rosette and Chrono’s cheeks were stains from tears. Please, lord of creation, Virgin Mary…please don’t let them die…isn’t there some way I could help them? She thought back to when she first met the two partners; and how her voice saved the lives of all those people in the casino. I don’t want to lose my best friends… At that moment, Azmaria heard a soft voice in the back of her head. It was soft and sweet, like pouring honey “apostle of benevolence, I have heard your prayer…you wish to revive your friends?” the voice spoke; at first the sound of her second name startled her; but then she recognized the voice from when she was young, a voice that soon after gave her this gift. Holy mother, I don’t want them to die, I know I sound selfish, but…it’s just not right that they die so soon, after they worked so hard. Please can I do anything to save them? There was silence for a moment before the soft voice returned. “there souls have already become a part of the astral line, returning their souls to there bodies will be difficult…in order to bring them back, you will have to give up something important…your wings. Are you willing to give up such a gift?” Azmaria stifled a gasp; her wings were what signified her as an angel; but they were what brought about the deaths of so many she cared about, so in her mind it was worth it. Yes, I will give whatever I must; as long as my friends will return when I do so. “very well, concentrate hard on what you se before you; reach deep into your soul and grasp the root of your wings, then you must pull as hard as you can; if you can stand the pain long enough; the wings will come out. Then your friend’s lives shall be restored. “I warn you apostle of benevolence; it will be the worst pain you ever experience in your life…are you sure you want to endure it?” Azmaria thought of Rosette and Chrono, their warm smiles as they would look at her, the courage they gave her while she knew them. They were like family to her, the only family she had left. This thought put a look of determination and belief on her tear strewn face, much like the one rosette often wore. They gave her confidence, and bravery, and so much more…it was about time she paid them back. Yes holy mother, I will endure it; I will give all of my soul if I must, whatever it takes…if I can bring them back; then I will…so please, allow me to save my family. Azmaria thought of the voice smiling as she said this, “very well, apostle of benevolence…sing to the heavens, to the astral line, so that your friends shall hear you; and be guided back to their bodies through your voice…and your wings shall be their path.” The white haired girl stood up; the three nuns behind her still weeping, she clasped her hands together, and looked at her friends bodies side by side, holding hands. Az knew they loved each other, they should at least get the chance to enjoy it. She lifted her head to the setting sky; and sang
Heaven hear this song on high, Bring back from the astral line, Two souls of entwining love, Heed my prayer to their hearts above,
The nun’s looked at Azmaria in awe; this was the most beautifully they have ever heard her sing; they could tell what she was trying to do, but weren’t sure if she could pull it off. Az herself could feel the power of her gift flowing from her to the skies; as her wings spread behind her like they would; she focused on finding their roots.
Two souls of the strongest heart, Hear me sing in thy names, Find the path of flowing song, And be lead by angel’s wings,
She found the roofs of her wings in her soul, and tugged. The pain that shot through her was indeed the worst pain she ever felt; but ignoring it as best as she could, she refused to stop singing;
Find you selves when you awake, Saved you’ll be and saved you’ll stay, Loved ones pray for your well being, For your lives I’ll gladly sing,
By now the pain was almost unbearable; Azmaria would have let go of the roots by now if she hadn’t reminded herself of her friends, Chrono, Rosette, she was doing this for them. So she held fast and pulled even harder. She continued to sing, not letting off the pain she was in.
Heaven hear this song on high, Bring back from the astral line, Two best friends who together died, Heed my prayer and give them life!
With one final yank; the wings came detached, Azmaria finished the song, and then screamed in the pent up pain. This made the nuns behind her jump. “Azmaria! What’s wrong?!” sister Claire shouted to her; but before Az could reply, a bright light burst out in front of the white haired girl; it was as if the very heavens had shot it’s light to the ground. Everyone shielded their eyes at the magnificent site; Azmaria was so exhausted, in so much pain, and used all of her power, that she blacked out on the spot. But just as she began to fall, the light faded away, and she could have sworn she saw movement before her, so small, but what looked like a twitch of a finger.
“Az? Az? Azmaria?” the sleeping child heard her name, voices she knew all to well called out to her. Slowly her eyes opened; blurry at first, but then she caught a glimpse of red hair. Azmaria’s eyes shot open to be sure what she saw was real; it was. Rosette and Chrono were standing by her bed side, looking at her with worried eyes. “Azmaria? Are you awake?” asked the demon boy, not a single purple hair was out of place; they both had color in there faces and a shine in there eyes, it was as if they were never dead. “Rosette? Chrono?” asked Az, a little bewildered of what was before her. She had really done it, she brought them back. “It’s really you!” she cried as she sat up and hugged the nun, tears came quickly to her eyes, but this time they weren’t of sorrow. Chrono smiled kindly at the girl, rosette looked like she was about to pop like a balloon from how hard Az was hugging her “I c-cant breathe!” she said distortedly, Azmaria quickly withdrew from her bear hug. Rosette exhaled the pent up air and Chrono laughed. “It’s really true! Your back…I was so afraid you would…” she broke off, tears rolled down her cheeks. “Hey now don’t cry were here now” Chrono said softly. “Well I have no idea how we did live; the clock ran out on my watch, but now,” she held up the watch “now it’s full again, what the hell happened?” Azmaria looked at the watch, and the sparkling whiteness that represented rosettes life. She never thought her handy-work would give her friend her entire life back…but she was thankful none the less. Chrono looked at the pale girl, and said with a smile. “from the looks of things, I’d say you had something to do with it?” Az jumped in her bed, and then hesitated as pain shot through her once more. She looked at her friends; they both looked at her curiously. She sighed; guess it’s time to tell them.
“SAY WHAT?!!!” the two said in unison. “You gave up your wings to save us? How’d you do that? I thought you weren’t able to use your powers anymore!” exaggerated rosette. Azmaria winced at the loudness of her voice and replied. “So did I, but the virgin Mary told me what to do, and…I did it...” She looked down at the sheets of her bed, she heard Chrono speak. “ hmm… for an angel to give up her wings, which are rooted to her soul, that means it must have been extremely painful, did you really go through that pain just for us?” she nodded “I just…I didn’t want you to die, not after everything you’ve suffered to get back Joshua, he would never have seen you again…and I know it’s selfish, but I didn’t want to lose what family I had left.” She felt a hand on her head and looked up. Rosette was smiling warmly. “It was a brave thing to do Azmaria; you should be proud, but… what about your gift? Does this mean you’re not an apostle anymore?” “Well, I think so…I’m not an angel without my wings, but I’m glad. They brought death and sorrow to my friends and family, and even if they didn’t, it was worth it.” “Well said, you may not be an apostle anymore…” Chrono said, rosette following up after him “but…” The two hugged Azmaria. “But you’ll always be our angel” they both said together. A blush appeared on her face as she accepted the hug. “And now, you two can live a long life together! And have a real chance to love each other!” Azmaria stated happily, taking the two by shock. “SAY WHAT?!” they said together. Az giggled “Don’t hide it you guys, I know you like each other!” she smiled as the two freaked out. Azmaria knew that she may have lost something great in the process of bringing the two back; but in exchange she received something even greater. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I wrote this ending back when i was going through the chrono crusade phase. so you can tell it lacks some of the qualities of my regular writings. when i saw the ending i had been so depressed, and it actually had a huge effect on my mood. But then that night... well, thats another story... so anyway i decided i wouldnt accept the ending, and made my own. So i hope you liked my happy ending to CC, and of course... i hope you comment.
