Frozen Footsteps
Oh the wind howled
The snow drifted slowly down
Down
Down
Down
Until you could no longer look around
That mid January snow
The freezing cold we come to know
Snow as white as snow
You wonder if it shall ever go
It’s cold and getting colder
You wonder will I get older.
Huddled now, on the ground

Chattering teeth,
The snow taps at the door as if someone is knocking
Its taunting
Untrusting you bundle up tighter
The sky is getting whiter, whiter
The wood is gone
The heat is too
What more can we do
Step

Each footfall, each freezing stride
Every tear not dried,
But turned to ice, we tried
Our steps, snowed over
Lost now, stuck now
It’s numbing
Cold
Cold
Nothing
Can’t feel it now, no can’t feel it now
