Now let's see here:
Valentine's Day was enjoyable. I brought Jason some chocolate because he would really be the only one I would see, and it pretty much made his day. I gave my parents and Sophia chocolates and a few small gifts. I brought them home that night but the power was out, so I wrote cards and wrapped gifts by candlelight and I used the light on my DS to navigate both floors of my house. Many thanks to Russell and Sonja for buying it for me so long ago, it has never failed me. Hung out with my Dark Hour crew, a la Sonja, Justin, Amanda, and Brittany on occasion, and Sonja handed me a Valentine. I was going to buy that crocodile plush with the heart in its mouth for myself, but I decided it would be happier in Sonja's car. We named it Steve, and along with her Unicorn Sexyback, they protected her car well.
I ushered in Leap Year with my Dark Hour buddies, and we ate at Osaka, a Japanese restaurant that gets good marks here in Vegas. It's even got Tatami rooms, so you have to take off your shoes and you can eat on your knees, punk! They had me try the shabu-shabu, which is the onomatopoeia for swishing, which is where you take the meat and vegetables and cook them in the boiling water. It was fun to do it, but I like my things seasony and grilled, but I still enjoyed it.
Sonja and Amanda's birthdays were interesting. I got to talk with Sonja about a lot of things, we ended up parked outside my driveway the morning of her birthday talking until like 5 a.m. I felt kinda special to share that time with her, they both turned 21. It feels strange when you're at this point in your life, the one you always wanted to be at when you were little and so many supposed appealing things were out of reach.
Also, because I'm an 'ethnic weeaboo' (Decora is love) according to Tony, I celebrated White Day with Jason. He gave Yoshie and I white chocolate at school that day as thanks for being the only ones to give him gifts for Valentine's. I'd totally forgotten about the holiday nobody really celebrates here. I'd be up for it more if most of my friends were anti-white chocolate. Yes, Sonja, I know it doesn't have that kind of cocoa that technically makes it not real chocolate. Maybe we should make it fashionable and call it faux-choco, eh?
For St. Patrick's Day I died my hair green to be different about it, and this new guy at work (who is now one of the only people I can hang with) did the same thing and I RAGED a storm at how he 'stole' my idea.
Easter was fun if only because it's one of the few holidays Target is closed and I absolutely don't have to work, not to mention it's a Sunday so it's perfect for a 'Lazy Sunday'. I didn't get any chocolate from my parents, but I could care less because I got a custom basket made from Sonja. I live for that yearly tradition.
However, I got a call earlier the next morning from Amanda. Sonja on her way to visit her father during Spring Break got into a bad accident. Her car flipped over twice if I remember correctly, and it was totaled. But Sonja had been saving up her Karma, and other than a bumped head and the seatbelt cutting into her neck, she was personally alright. I got a text from Amanda when they went to go get the car back after they released Sonja from the hospital, and she said the car was destroyed, and how it was a miracle she came out of it with barely a scratch.
Believe me, I was so happy to get the call from her that day at work that she was alright. Even though Amanda had told me she was alright when I first heard about the accident, for some reason I still feared the worst and I was wrecked at work up until I heard her voice. I think it might have been the morphine, but she seemed pretty bubbly considering her car was history.
I was gonna strangle Justin though when I heard he wanted her to go out and party the day she got back. :/
Although the whole deal with AAA wrecking her old first car while they were towing it and then her getting more money in compensation than what she paid for it kinda has me declaring her the winner for a long time.
I've been digging the vidya gaems lately, specifically No More Heroes, and now The World Ends With You. But that's a whole other ranty session.
c., we need a new hangout, I miss DeadStar terribly.
