Midnight Rose The Vixen
I lay my head down to sleep each night,
With a prayer passing by my lips
"Lord, may I dream of hope and faith,
With the hatred burned out for once,
My heart has lost too many,
For I have seen many a thing draw it's final breath,
Then meet you at heaven's gates.
I pray that you allow me to see her once more,
The one whom I lost long ago,
My eyes may water for her,
Yet, to me, her memory shall live on,
I was young and foolish,
For what I saw I believed was a dream,
Even if she had died,
That doesn't mean that she's gone,
For when she died,
I cried out my sorrow and hoped for a new day,
Now where I lie,
I pray you allow me to see her,
In my dreams,
Because of what I couldn't do as I saw her,
For I never thought she would die.
So I have one small request to ask of you,
To tell Mamaw I said good-bye.
Life cannot go on forever,
As I now know because of her,
I may now never hear her voice again,
Or tell her I love her for always being there,
My heart now feels heavy,
My world seems empty,
For the one I held dearest had left.
So Lord, I wish for you to send her my message,
Plus tell her I love her, too,
Tell her I send the best of seasons,
And good fate 'n' fortunes as well.
Lastly, I merely wish for you to send her my love,
And tell her in my memory,
She'll always stay.
Amen"
I still miss her kindness and hope,
In this unforgivable and harsh world,
Yet I smile to myself,
For I remember her,
And cherish her memory dearly.
This is for my Mamaw, who was diceiced several years ago.
To me, it seems like it has been a millenia since I had last spoken
to her. My Mamaw was my world, she always was there for me,
and I know she still is, exept now she is my guardian angel.
I still cry at night, with no one to comfort me over how I miss her,
yet I remember the memories and try to smile. Even if she isn't
next to me, i still know she's with me, in memory and spirit, to
make my way through life. At least, until I draw my final breath
an join her.
