I enjoy Lewis Black. He is frank and funny. And a very intelligent comedian. I think the best comedians out there are the intelligent ones. Yes, there are comedians out there who aren't college-graduates and blah blah that are funny. That doesn't mean they aren't intelligent. The ones who make stupid jokes might be popular for a time, but the intelligent ones are around for ages. Look at Robin Williams and George Carlin (may he rest in peace). I mean, compare them to someone like Dave Chapelle. Yeah, Dave is amusing and his show was pretty popular, but if given a choice between going to see Robin Williams or Dave Chapelle for free, who in their right mind would choose him over Robin?
That being said, I have to bring something else up because there was just a commercial for some Gong Show for comedy central.
WHO THE HELL COMES UP WITH THE IDEAS FOR THESE SHOWS NOWADAYS?! scream
Seriously, television shows are out of control these days. The majority of them don't make sense, they don't stimulate any kind of thoughts, and they encourage the most retarded behavior.
I miss the cartoons and shows I grew up with. They were funny and many of them (i.e. Animaniacs, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, etc.) were even funnier when you really thought about the jokes. You had to think about it. I mean, who in their right mind who has ever seen an episode of Freakazoid didn't fall in love with that show?
Okay, I've depressed myself thoroughly and will have to continue this some other time. I'm going to lift my spirits with the best medicine in the world: junk food. xd
