Chapter 25
Nero was shaking in fear, frightened at the sight of Luthor, someone he had never seen before.
Luke: *leaps towards Luthor*
Luthor: *punches Luke* Out of my way, you filthy mutt!
Luke: *whimpers, snarls*
Nero: *whimpers* Ryo! Chita!
Chita: *hears Nero's scream* Oh no, sounds like Nero's in trouble! *takes out her gun Kurokiba, runs off*
Ryo: *takes out his scythe Irkalla, follows Chita* I'm right behind you.
Chita: Let him go, you fiend! *points her gun at Luthor*
Ryo: What the-? *sees Luthor carrying Nero over his shoulder*
Nero: *struggling* Lemme go! Lemme go!
Luthor: Fiend?! You better not be talking about me, little girl!
Chita: Excuse me?!
Ryo: Luthor?
Luthor: Hm? Hey Ryo, its been a while.
Chita: What? You know this guy?
Ryo: Yea, we ran into him a couple of months ago. *looks at Luthor* What're you doing here?
Luthor: Your blue-haired psychic friend just wants his little brother back.
Nero: Oniichan?
Ryo: Sentaro? Where is he?
Luthor: Don't worry, he's safe with Elena.
Ryo: Elena?
Luthor: Yup. If you want to see him, he's in that direction. Well, see ya. *runs off with Nero*
Chita: Who was that guy?
Ryo: It's a long story. All I know is that we can trust him.
Chita: Well, if you say so.
Luke: *rolls eyes, groans*
Chita: Oh quiet, you stupid mutt. *punches his head*
Luke: *whimpers, groans*
Chita: Why don't you go back to the diner? I'm sure Karen is worried about you.
Luke: *nods, runs off into the woods*
Chita: Well c'mon, let's go find Sentaro.
Ryo: Uh, right. *they both started walking* So, how did you two meet?
Chita: When I first arrived here, two years ago, I didn't know my way around this new area. Then one day when I was walking in the forest, I saw this huge wolf. At first I thought it was going to attack me, so I got myself ready for battle, but it just stood there, looking at me as if it knew I was lost. Suddenly, before my very eyes, the wolf had turned into a human. I didn't think such things existed. He then introduced himself and let me live with him and his wife. I owe them so much for their kindness.
Ryo: Well that was very nice of them.
Chita: Yup.
Ryo: By the way, why'd you get a haircut? Not that it looks bad, but last time I saw you, you had long flowing hair, now it's all short.
Chita: Oh, my long hair was kinda getting in my way in battle, so I decided to get it short.
Ryo: Ah I see. It looks nice, by the way. It makes you look like a whole new person.
Chita: Thanks. ^^ You've changed yourself also, Ryokamaru-kun.
Ryo: Huh? I have?
Chita: Yup, I remembered the first time I saw you, you were this cute red-head boy who was a bit of a crybaby at times. *giggles*
Ryo: What?! I was never a crybaby! Even if I was, it's all Ryuna-sensei's fault. Wait..... did you say I was cute?
Chita: o_o; Uh.... no. You're crazy.
Ryo: Oh, must've been my imagination. ^^;
Chita: Phew... Hey Ryokamaru-kun, can I ask you something?
Ryo: Sure.
Chita: ... How's Neko been through the years I was gone?
Ryo: Well, let's see... during the first year, a few days after you left, Kitty was so depressed, she didn't leave her room for months. But thanks to me, Sentaro and Ryuna-sensei, we got her back on her feet. Since then, she's been training and counting the days for your return.
Chita: I guess one day she couldn't wait anymore and decided to go out and search for me.
Ryo: You got that right.
Chita: I thought she'd forgotten about me.
Ryo: Are you freakin' kidding me?! She would never EVER forget about you! You're one of the many important people in her life.
Chita: Really?
Ryo: Duh! Now, no more of this emo stuff, okay? Smile, be happy, you're going to see your cousin soon.
Chita: Well, all right, I'll take your word for it. *smiles* Thank you for setting my mind at ease, Ryokamaru-kun.
Ryo: No problem, Chita-chan. *smiles*
Chita: Can I ask you one more thing?
Ryo: Of course. Maybe she's gonna ask me out.
Chita: Do you still peek in the women's bathhouse?
Ryo: Oh, um..... uh..... that's a story for another day. ^^;
Chita: Fine. -_-;
Ryo: So much for a date...
Meanwhile, Luthor was approaching the hospital Sentaro is in.
Nero: Lemme go, you stupid bloodsucker!
Luthor: Well that wasn't a very nice thing to say. *drops Nero*
Nero: OWIE!
Luthor: And how do you know I'm a vampire?
Nero: Well, I remember my brother telling me that werewolves only enemies are vampires. And the way Luke looked at you kinda gave me a hint.
Luthor: Ah I see....
Nero: Anyways, where's oniichan?
Luthor: He's in there.
Nero: In the hospital? What happened to him?
Luthor: He got beaten up pretty badly, but don't worry, I bet he's fine now.
Nero: I wanna see him!
Luthor: Go ahead, I'm sure he's eager to see you.
Nero: I'm coming, oniichan! *runs towards the hospital*
Luthor: *follows him* Glad to see the kid's happy. Hm, that's odd.... I sense something strange in the air. I wonder what it could be?
