Elyon looked at her Mother. Had she heard her? Then sighed and turned away. She picked up a book to look and see if it was right. She shook her head and looked again. The books were piled neatly on one another in a stack. They faced to show the binding so the person could read the name. Elyon flipped through the second book. Pictures of skeleton of several feline animals lay on the crisp page. Then sighed. Her fathers loud voice made her jump. It had managed to get its way all the way to the library? The book Elyon was holding had fallen out of her tiny hands. She went down to the floor and tried to pick it. up. Her hand`s quivered. Was it her Fathers fault? No, It was hers. She was to weak. Elyon bit her lip and though of Meleny. Her friend had always been cheerful, sensitive and confident all the time. It hurt her to see her friend come this morning in tears. Mel`s blond wisps were even messier then they usually were. The hazel eyes reflected hurt and grief from her news. The Nature Lover had fallen to the floor in front of 9 student. The rest had gone home. Immediately Elyon went over to see what was wrong. A hug erupted in the small group. Mel explained what had happened when they went into the hall. Felicity smiled with her brown pools to comfort Mel. Her golden blond wisps bounced at movement. The three girls sobbed at Mel`s loss. They didn`t argue much and held a strong bond. Just the fact that Mel and Fels family was at risk of the plague and Mel`s mom had died because of it, Made Elyon feel guilty. The voice in her head seemed to smile. She shook her head to jumble it. The book was set on the stack.
Elyon looked at Augusta `Did you hear me, Mommy?` She muttered. Of course not. She was to quiet and had said it through a hiccup. Elyon smiled at augusta to show it was nothing and dashed out of the room. She bolted down the steps. Her toes barely touched the end. Her hair flew behind her and her hands were raised to balance her. With a leap Elyon was before her Father. She looked up at him. He was so big and strong. If only she were that had not so spritely small. It was better to be strong. He ruled the storms with great honor It terrified her at time. Elyon knew he was her father and he would never harm her, Not unless...No. Elyon tried to smile. Her friends face appeared in her mind. She frowned slightly. Then put her hands behind her back. The red blotches were still there. She didn`t want to bother her Daddy with the death of her friends Mother, Robin. She also knew Mel`s brother was deeply sick and her sister Alicia also. Elyon smiled `Welcome home!` She giggled. It was best to smile. Even if it was forced. All she could do was that.
