Dante couldn't help but smile as he saw Zephiel grip the blade that impaled Jareth. He ripped it upwards, blood staining the throne and Zephiel's face, and when the blade exited through Jareth's shoulder Dante's father slumped down. Jareth hit the throne hard, and he topped over. He rolled halfway down the stairs, a steady stream of blood now streming down the marble like a waterfall. Dante suddenly came to see that his only family was... "Zephiel..." he muttered, staring at his father's dieing corpse. "What will we do with... him?" He asked, frowning. "It was a fluke that we beat your father. He was by far the most experienced here. The element of suprise that you laid down was by far the least expected, as well. A warriors death, a warrior's burial." "You are going to bury him?" Dante asked, oblivious to the fact that Zephiel had just explained it to him. "Yes. He led the Order of the Burning Blade well, I would say--up until as of late, of course. He deserves an honourable burial and an honourable memory." He seemed rushed, as though he was late for a very important date. He was collecting a few things as he spoke, one of which was the crown that had spilled to the floor next to the bloody body of Jareth. "What about... the king?" Dante asked, remembering the shuddering figure in the corner. King Horus now stood, and was making his way back towards them. "Can you tell... if what father said is true? Did he turn him?" Zephiel nodded gravely. "He is only partially blooded, however... not at all like you. Jareth only had enough time to turn him enough to kill him if left unchecked. And with This pitiful king's blood supply--Jareth-- is dead..." Dante nodded. "It must be done." The shaking kind let loose a blood-curdling scream, and tried to run for the door. He tripped on his own robes and fell, smashing his face against the arm of his throne. Sobbing in pain, he managed to stand. Dante caught the sword, Zephiel had tossed it to him, and killed the late king Horus with a single stroke.
