I sleep with my phone every night, nowadays.
You know, just in case you call.
It's pretty funny; I used to sleep with stuffed animals, and now I sleep with a cell phone. They were cuddly and warm and my phone is cold metal pressed against my cheek. It's always cold. It never seems to warm with my skin.
I sleep with it cupped in the palm of my hand, pressed against my face. That way I can never miss it if it goes off, because I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, and if I missed you I'd never forgive myself.
It's not totally crazy- after all, you've called at night before, and it's a better security blanket than anything else.
And it's the closest thing to sleeping with you, and I'll take what I can get.
