As the agony burns me more, I think of when I was happy last,
But that was an eternity ago, when you were still here by my side.
As the pain drags me further down into dark, deep waters,
My heart beats faster than it ever has, not wanting to give up without a fight.

Though I experience things much differently,
I’m still a human somewhere inside myself, yet, I don’t know where that person is.
The pain sucks the life out of me, never stopping,
Causing me to remember things I’ve never wanted to experience over again.
I experience every hurtful thing all over again,
Wishing I was dead instead of having to experience this torture furthermore.

But as I am sucked deeper into these dark waters,
I hear your voice inside my head, assuring me that this will pass soon.
When I object back in my mind,
You tell me to stay calm and say that though you aren’t with me, you still love me.
