"Oi!" Shouted a voice. It was a bright sunny day in a busy town. Shoppers going in and out, venders selling and shouting, news stands with big bold letters of the latest headlines etc.
Lavi held Novella's hand as the walked out of the Inn. It had been two years since Lavi and Novella had first met. They were happy together. They had a couple of fights but came out of it fine, they always ended up smiling and hugging.
Bookman, made them quit being Exorcists and move on to a different war. Lavi still hated wars, but it was bearable now that he had Novella. Novella hating the place from the start was all to happy to leave it. She didn't mind going from war to war with Lavi. She was forced to go by different names though. Right now her name was Rachel. She made a completely different identity and Lavi did the same.
They walked down the flagstoned street Novella's heels clicking on them. They weaved around the busy street. Lavi was content with his life now. He sighed happliy as he lead Novella into a different part of the town. They were going to a shop to pick up somethings Novella needed.
She wouldn't tell him what but Lavi had guessed that he probably didn't want to know. Novella lead Lavi into the shop. She got what she needed and Lavi could only guess what it all was.
She and Lavi wove through the carts and people again making their way back to the Inn. A grumpy looking Bookman sat smoking with a drink. "Finally back. Stupid kids." He grumbled. Novella scowled but let it go. She rolled her eyes. "Rachel..." Lavi said. Novella had gotten used to Lavi not calling her by her real name. "Yes?" She asked.
Lavi grabbed one of the bags and her hand and lead her up the stairs to the room they shared. Novella was used to his behavior like that by now and just followed.
Lavi toke the other bag she had and put them both on the table that was in the corner. Novella's hair had gotten a lot longer. Bookman made her colour it blonde. Novella didn't really mind it, but thought once her hair grew that the brown underneath would show. Her face had aged a little bit and she had grown two inches. Lavi hadn't really changed accept he dressed a lot differently. He wore jeans and black long sleeves shirts all the time now. Novella wore a long amethyst necklace around her neck. Sometimes she wore a choker with a ruby.
She wore knee length skirts with lace and a slit on both sides. Black was what she usually wore. She wore her bangs off to the side and lined her eyes with a dark blue along with a white eyeshadow.
Lavi had worn a color contact that was brown that hid his green eye. Novella loved his eyes, and him so she got a little tiffed when he wore the contact.
Novella went over to unpack what she had bought. Lavi went over and wrapped his arm around her waist. Novella chuckled and turned and faced him. She kissed him and he let her go.
Lavi looked as if he wanted it to last longer but sighed. "I'll be downstairs." He said. "Alright I'll be down in a minute." She said.
Lavi left and when she was done she quickly followed. She sighed and sat down next to her lover. Lavi had his usual bored look on his face. His face brightened a little when he realized she was there. Bookman went on to explain about the place they were headed next. Novella listened as always with her chin in her hand. Lavi just looked bored and nodded along.
Bookman could go on for hours so they ate. It was well into the night before he said they should all go to bed. Novella couldn't help but agree with a yawn that escaped her mouth. Lavi got out and went to the stairs waiting for Novella. She followed and they both went up and heard Bookman's door close. "That was fast." She said. Lavi laughed. "Yeah..." He said. He streached and went in. Novella followed.
She got changed and crawled into the bed. Lavi soon followed. They both fell fast asleep.
