A Long Goodbye: Writing Ex |

A long goodbye, Is not like saying goodbye.
It's like walking away with a broken leg, Trying to go your separate ways. It hurts, and words don't make the hurt disappear.
We try to hold on, reaching out with desperate cries, We try to keep each other within reach, But soon, we forget.
You're given only a certain time, With every person you meet. No matter what you do, you will touch their life time. A goodbye can end it, but, You have still touched them even if they forget. Even if you forget, you still did.
So don't let a a moment go to waste, Scream if you have to, sob, and shake your head, "Where's the justice, where's the mercy? Have you given up on us, Lord?"
But we're given a choice, and we receive a path, Whether we take it or not is up to us.
Even if we're walking in different directions, Meet me where our roads finally collide. A simple of saying a goodbye, Not wanting the farewell to last longer, the pain, Only flares, and takes my soul down with it.
A long goodbye, Is nothing like saying goodbye. There is nothing like knowing the time will come, Where we're not in each other's sight, And that the cutting of this connection made of string, Will happen when we begin to run.
Because the pain lingers, Somewhere deep inside your head. It comes back with the slightest provocation, And saying farewell to goodbye is even harder, When you don't want to forget again.
But looking back, you're no longer in my sight. I wonder if you found the finish line, And if your leg hurts still when I come to mind.
I wonder if you forget, Since a long goodbye is even harder, Than saying it out loud.
